We have been looking and found a vehicle that we both like and suits our needs. I am a bit cautious as there are a bunch of negative reviews about the transmission used.... We are looking at a 2006 Nissan Murano which has the Continuous Variable or No-Shift transmission. I know this technology has been around for years but there is a ton of bad reviews for the CVT failing, even failing after a rebuild. The 2006 and later models do not seem to be affected as badly though from what I can read. This vehicle has 92k miles with all of the service records including the recommended tranny service. Does anyone here have experience or thoughts on the CVT, or a Murano in general? Thanks!

Dug through my stuff, found a Simmons bore sighter kit that has probably never been used. Simmons model 1480 kit complete in box. First message here or PM gets it, based on time stamp. Edit - claimed. 2 messages exactly one minute apart, first one by time stamp got it.

Luke, sending PM.

If you are loading pistol calibers, may want to consider the RCBS Turret kit. It will save you some time by not swapping dies constantly. For example, set your sizer die and expander die up, size a piece of brass and rotate the turret to expand. Rotate back and grab another piece of brass. You may hear/read that a turret press does not make as accurate ammo as a single stage, but unless you shoot rifle long distance competition it doesn't really matter. I also didn't look at the prices today, but I know at one point the price difference was not too far off. If you decide to stick with the single stage either the Hornady or RCBS Rock Chucker will serve you well.

Often asked ---5.56 vs 223 question
TNMTBik3r replied to sirdanny4011's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
A couple of my manuals specifically have a section on 5.56. But it is only one or 2 pages and limited info. Just use .223 reloading info and your good to go. No need for the higher pressures just for shooting. -
I would imagine it would take a considerable amount of time as well, just wanted to get another couple of opinions.

Fortress 24 gun safe from Lowes. Any opinions?
TNMTBik3r replied to Tennjed's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
I have a Winchester 24 gun safe from TSC. It fit my needs. The few safes Lowes had at the time were not what I wanted. -
Sorry to dig up and older thread, but a question occurred to me this morning. I store all of my powder in my walk in closet, on the top shelf where only I can grab it. This closet has a fluorescent light in the ceiling, so about 3-4 feet away from the shelf with my powder. The light is not on but a few times a day for a few minutes. I know powder is susceptible to sunlight over time, but what about a fluorescent light? I could not find a good answer on Google. Powder is in the original containers, and my thinking is it would take years for the light to affect the powder but wanted to get other thoughts.

I have only seen a 18/20 inch barrel in stock at PSA a few times in the past few months.

308 Casing Stuck In RCBS Full Length Sizing Die? How To:
TNMTBik3r replied to lshel's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
What lube were you using? They are not all created equal... -
Post office has to stay open somehow, think of your $1.05 donation keeping the lights on for an extra hour. Wasn't there a difference at one time between tracking and delivery confirmation? Could that be the confusion? I haven't shipped USPS in a while because have a UPS account at work.

Thanks for all the info! I have a few people/places to contact now.

I meant 22+ highway. I have looked at a couple of older Explorers and such but several are only around 18-20 highway. My wife puts on average 15 miles a day driving around town - but want the mileage boost as we would use it for travel (650 miles to my parents).
-
I looked at a couple vehicles from them. I know they have a good rep, but the few vehicles I looked at seemed overpriced when looking at KBB. And Carmax will not negotiate price.
-
I think City Auto was one of the places I looked at online. I have no problems buying from an individual, have several times before, just haven't found what I am looking for yet. Chris and Terry, thanks for the offers. Will send you a pm.

The question kind of answers itself I know... but, my wife is needing a new vehicle. She has a decent car but it is too small for our family so trying to upgrade to a SUV. I have been looking around at Cars.com and Autotrader and having problems finding anything in our price range and with acceptable mileage. Basically we are trying to find a SUV that gets decent mileage (22+) and under 130k miles for a good price. The ones I find are either over priced/over budget, over 150k miles or at a small lot that I mistrust right away. Have any of you dealt with used care dealers in the Columbia/Franklin/Nashville/MBoro area that you felt comfortable dealing with and would go to again? I am trying to get a list of who to avoid completely and who I should consider talking to. I have dealt with a few before and did not buy at the time and will not go back again. I have been trying to search private party sales with no luck either.

Thoughts to you all Tanker. Loss is always hard, even when it is expected.

Glad its back. I watched part of the marathon today too.

That are indeed, just stuck a magnet to them. Superman, thanks for the info. The 62gr TSX are longer than I thought they may be. Just looked at the Barnes website, the 62gr TSX are listed for 1:9 twist. The 55gr TSX are 0.797 and listed for 1:12 twist - I may try and test both just to see but I think I will need to stay under 0.900 length.
-
Mine doesn't seem to be the weight as much as the length causing the issue.
-
Just measured the bullets I have. 55gr FMJ 0.732 55gr Sierra SP 0.729 64gr Nosler 0.791 62gr FMJ 0.912 75gr Hornady 0.989 Since the 0.912 62gr almost stabilize, it looks like I may need to find bullets under 0.900 to shoot.
-
My rifle has a 16" 1:9 twist barrel. I have been trying some different weight bullets to see what will stabilize and what doesn't. What I have found is I need a short bullet to stabilize. I bought some 62gr bullets and a box of Hornady 75gr match bullets from David at the MBoro gun show. The 62gr are almost stable at 50 yards, about 1 in 3 have a small keyhole. The 75gr tear all through the target sideways. I also bought a box of Nosler 64gr Bonded Performance bullets to test. They are shorter than the 62gr above, and stabilize in my rifle. So, my question is what are some heavy but short bullets I can try? Like I said the Nosler 64gr shoot well and I have a box of Nosler 60gr Partition on the way. I am.thinking about getting a box of Barnes TSX 62gr and Sierra 65gr to test. Are there any other bullets I should be looking at? My intended purpose is hunting and self defense - for shooting I have a bunch of 55gr FMJ that group very well.

I am hoping to go shoot today, wanted to yesterday but spent all day rebuilding ESX servers for work (2 left today, shouldn't be too long). I have a couple of new loads to try out in my AR to help me decide which powder I want to stick with, my tax return hit my bank account so I am going to stock up on some components.

I found this while browsing for another item. It is much cheaper and says good for 1k rounds. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/3d-eco-target.aspx?a=1657134

When I was there in November, yes it was free. They had a lot of stuff to look at, think the sign said over 1k firearms.
