  1. I did some further reading on the site, and the EUC is required once a winning bid has been submitted. And a new EUC is required for each sale event, not per lot.  So it sounds like anyone with a prior EUC would still have to submit a new one, but the processing time is a lot quicker.   I am going to watch a few of these auctions and see what happens with bid activity.
  2. I don't think it got that far but sure was trying.
  3. Agreed - they said it would be action packed but there wasn't much happening. Could have been a much better episode even without more blood.
  4. Interesting way to handle the Joe/Daryl/Rick confrontation. Knew Terminus wouldn't be good....guna be a long wait for season 5.
  5. I figured it is worth watching, never know when an auction will get very few bids and be a steal. I don't exactly need the brass but if the auction stays reasonable I would be interested in trying to win one. Figure about 7400 5.56 brass per 100 pounds, could split up a single lot and sell extras but would all depend on how bidding went.
  6. I mount my scope, then use a cheap multi caliber laser boresighter in the house to roughly adjust the crosshairs in windage and about 1" high. When I go to the range, shoot at 50 yards, 1st shot has never been more than 5 inches from POA. Make adjustments, fire 2nd shot to verify and then dial in at 100 yards.
  7. I assume AIM and Copes would ask the appropriate questions on the call...but right now there is a chance it is a misunderstanding from someone in the BATF talking out their ass. Right now no ban, just a delay on the import paperwork (from all I have read). Some of the pistols in question have been manufactured for 3+? years. All of the home built pistols have not been an issue. JBI Armory Robs Armory Black Horse Arsenal
  8. 16 pages on Arfcom, just read them all. Seems that JBI is not the first to build and advertise a 5.45 pistol, been a few others ahead of them. I don't (unfortunately) own anything that shoots surplus ammo so doesn't affect me directly but still its a load of bull.
  9. I saw that. A pallet is what, maybe 40# or so? And a plywood box, so figure subtract 100 pound and rest is brass?
  10. There is also a lot of 50cal brass (10k #) and several lots of 5.56 bras The post the other day about the lead blankets got me thinking and I checked what was nearby. Anyone ever bought and picked up one of these auctions before?
  11. In Clarksville http://www.govliquidation.com/auction/view?auctionId=7443213
  12. My last batch of reloads through my 16" were ejecting at 2:00. I had been considering a heavier buffer or adjustable gas block (although since it was a budget build wasn't sure about dumping more into it vs saving for a new build). I may go ahead and order one or both.   I have noticed that different powders seem to easily overgas at least in my rifle. For example, CFE223 with a minimum load compared in 2 manuals will eject at 1:00-2:00 constantly. I dialed back 2 grains below min load to get a 3:00 ejection pattern. But Varget is usually 3:00 to 4:00 with a mid level load.
  13. I don't consider $60 for 500 115gr bullets a sale.  And based on their .22lr pricing (see other threads) very few people here are likely to buy even if it was a sale.
  14.   Never done that many clays, but one of my pistol drills is 3 clays a foot apart each, 3 to 5 rounds loaded, between 5 and 15 yards. the extra 2 rounds lets you finish a clay if you do not break the entire thing.
  15. You may already be thinking of this, but don't just punch paper. Clay pigeons taped to a paper plate, plastic jugs, fruit, etc will make it a better time.   I have never really played any shooting "games" other than picking a target and each firing one shot to see who hit closest to center. The card idea is a good one though.
  16. President of Marketing and Sales for Remington is gone. Story says resigned, with a mention he was fired during a meeting. Think all the problems with the R51 are related? http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/03/foghorn/breaking-scott-blackwell-president-marketing-sales-remington-resigns/
  17. I go there to waste time, about it. I do occasionally buy something but that is the exception not the rule.   I hope that letter has been sent to them and not just posted here. Post it on social media too, surprising how often a Facebook post can get a response and action taken.
  18. From 10 minutes ago. Now it has stopped snowing and all melted away.
  19. In like 5 minutes the snow just started sticking and has covered the ground outside our office in brentwood. Crazy.
  20. Just wait until we get snow in April again this year and everyone really cries.
  21. I ended up with the TLR-3 on my pistol. It fits great and even at only 125 lumens it is bright enough for my house, and even a bit disorienting. I would rather have the higher output of the TLR-1 or the Surefire but since neither will fit this seems like the best option. Wish I trusted my 9mm enough to use it for a bedside gun, the TLR-1 would have fit it great.
  22. I trimmed the bushes in front of the house, built a new gate for my porch, and cleaned the deck so I can stain it tomorrow. Yeah you had a much better day... Wish I could have went out shooting.
  23. The TRL-1s showed up today, and it doesn't fit. I kind of thought there may be an issue since this is a compact pistol but I read some articles saying it would fit. The key would not come close to the slot in the rail to lock the light in. Would have the same issue with the Surefire x300 so I have decided that if I want a light on my bedside pistol it will have to be a TRL-3. I setup a return with Amazon and ordered the TRL-3. It is half the output but will see how it looks. The TRL-1s was very bright and more than enough for my needs.
  24. I just don't want to go through all of that, really don't care if my brass is THAT clean. Walnut media has always been good enough for me, just wondered if the ceramic media could be a good middle ground between walnut and wet stainless.
  25. Anyone here use ceramic media in their tumbler? I did a search and found one thread on TGO from over a year ago with a couple of mentions of using wet ceramic.   All I have ever used is walnut media, although I have done stuff like add beads or BBs to the mix to try and help clean the brass. 4mm beads can get caught in small primer pockets, and 6mm BBs can get caught in .223 brass necks - but adding something to the walnut has seemed to help the cleaning process.   Specifically, how well does ceramic media work dry in a vibratory tumbler? I have found a few posts online saying it works dry but is better wet, like stainless tumbling. I assume this would break down slightly, so media that is a mix of 3mm, 4mm and 6mm should slightly wear to a smaller size and may not be an issue with getting caught?   There is a guy on Arfcom selling some, 4# for $20 shipped and I am tempted to try it but like I said, cannot find a whole lot of info on effectiveness.
