  1. In all honesty I really don't have any respect for Red Jacket Program. I have watched the show many times and there seems to not be any harmony within the operation. There is always issues with someone about something. Not saying they don't do good work but just the atmosphere of the show is a turn off for me................jmho
  2. Gift cards are as good as cash in many cases. When I need to build up my gas points at Kroger I will buy several cards to be used at places like Logan's or Cracker barrel. I get double fuel points depending on the amount and then sometimes down the road I will use the cards to eat out with friends. i have even bought Lowes cards a few times because I have a few buddies that do remodeling jobs and they will buy them from me because they are going to have to buy stuff at Lowes anyway to do the work. All, help me build fuel points and with gasoline prices going up everyday the 50 and sometimes up to a dollar off a gallon can really help....jmho
  3. I'm by no means a bike mechanic but worked on cars 35 years and if bikes are similar in wiring operations there has to be a 40-60 amp power source relay some place that powers up almost everything. Most cars had accessory relay that served that purpose. Sounds like you have a main power source relay issue because it reacts soon as you turn the key on just like the one in a car does. It feeds power to everything required to operate any and all accessories and will actually have an effect on the starting system. If you don't have any luck and you can trailer the bike to Gallatin I have a buddy that has 3 Harley's and he works on his own and does all his own repairs after warranty is out on them. I can ask him for his help on this if need be. Let me know in a PM if you want me to talk to him about helping................
  4. Evidently it was not advertised very well if no one from this site knew about it till yesterday. I think we have quite a few members here from down around the boro and you would think someone would have spoke up. Maybe it's a bunch of cops just out to collect guns for their own personal collection so when they happen to shoot an unarmed bad guy they have a plant gun to make it a good shoot. Now for those of you LEO's that are here I am not saying anything against y'all LEO's. I just know it does happen cause I had two brothers on the force years ago and I heard them talk about it happening. Back years ago many LEO's carried Switch blade pocket knives to do the same things with so it was handled as a self defense issue................Now with that said I do have the utmost respect for good Cops and this day in time more than back years ago because back years ago you didn't have to wear Kevlar to patrol the streets and you didn't deal with so many gangs as there are today. You guys have a tough job and I know I would not want to be an officer these days and admire those who do and do it right...............jmho
  5. Before I lost my wife in 97 I never missed opening a door of any kind, house, car, store. She was my second wife but the love of my life. I miss her everyday. My first wife and the mother of my two boys is still alive but I have not seen her since she walked out on me and my 2 sons in 1987 while our oldest son was in a coma in St Thomas Hospital from an auto accident. She had some young man show her a little attention and she bailed on us. I have always said what goes around comes around and most times it does. But thats another story for another time......................jmho
  6. Thanks LB. I was taught to respect my elders and anyone else's elders and anyone else for that fact. I was taught it in school and you can bet I was taught it at home. It was Yes ma'am or no ma"am and yes sir or no sir or a back hand across the mouth from my mother or trip to wood shed by my father. i raise my sons the same way but I was also aware of the fact that my Sons would not be as hard on their children and I was surprised that my youngest son began requesting respect and manners from his boys and when he didn't get it he demanded it or there was Hell to pay in his home like we had growing up. He got respect from his boys that are now grown.  Made me proud of him for standing his ground...........
  7. They don't comprehend periods of time you are away from them but they can learn times by routines as part of nature. Routines are a thing that they learn by being taught. I was the one that began feeding Kasey every evening at 4 Pm so she learned that. I always tried to put her to bed at 9Pm and she learned that by being taught. Same thing with waking me up in the morning. I use to set my clock to wake me up at 7:45 AM and first thing I would do was let her out and then get my morning coffee so she was taught that I get up at that time and it becomes a routine.
  8. Don't ever underestimate how smart dogs are. I can set my clocks by things Kasey knows to do. If she is out doors and it reaches 4Pm she comes to the door and scratches telling me it's her supper time. If she is out doors and going to sleep in her house outside she will be at the door at 9PM sharp to get her nite nite snacks and when she sees me reach for the snack bags she goes in her house and i put them inside it for her If it's cold and she is inside at 4Pm she comes and puts her paws in my lap to get her supper and then at nite nite time again at 9 Pm it's paws on the lap and when I reach for the snack bags she goes and gets in her bed and I put the snacks in the bed with her.. If she is inside and it's time to go out her paws land firmly on the edge of my bed mattress and I see her smiling face at or very close to 8AM telling me it's time to get up and let her out to do business. Spoiled , very much so,  smart?  All my friends say she has e trained quite well so yea, shes smart but she is my best friend and she knows it...................
  9. Yea, I know Cronkite did discuss the war but back then I think it was called a conflict and all the films that Cronkite showed were all edited by the military at Pentagon and then given back to him to show on 5:30 news.
  10. It is not taught at all in the liberal school systems we have today and it is not taught in any home of any liberal socialist family but you can bet it is taught in the homes of real Americans with real values and real morals and yea there are guns in their homes too...........jmho
  11. It would depend of where I was hiking mainly. Since I have not been on a hiking trail in about 20 years and don't see one in the near future, if I were to be able to hike and camp I would have a Taurus 444 Raging Bull 44 mag and about 3 speed loaders if I were in the east part of the state and in middle or western part probably my standard Bersa Thunder 380 with back up magazines and maybe my Marlin 22 WMR with back up magazines for camping.
  12. Oh I don't know how hard they will be to kill. I have an old 10 gauge double barrel that I use to goose hunt with back many moons ago and I have some 3 1/2 inch Magnum no#4 shot rounds that use to knock geese out of the sky at 80 to 100 yards up and use to shoot skeet so may be a good test.................
  13. :panic: :panic: Sorry for double post but was trying to edit first one...............Please delete first reply post
  14. No but speak Vietnamese very well and translate equally well, Can speak enough Japanese to get by with a few laughs from the natives and Cantonese and and Vietnamese languages intertwine and I can get by with it but more limited...........
  15. No but I do speak Vietnamese very well and can translate it just as well. I can get by with some Japanese, enough to get by without to many laughs from the natives................
  16. well most of my life I have owned 1 or more dogs. Right now I have one but she does not know she is a dog. She is not sure about a few things but being a dog is not one of them. My friends all tell me that she has me very well trained.... I have had her since she had blue puppy film eyes and puppy breathe. She is now going on 15 years old and a few of my close friends have told me they worry about her and I. B.T. told me a few weeks back that he has never seen such a companionship or bond between a person and and a dog as the one between Kasey and I. He said he is worry tat if he loses one of us he is almost positive he will lose the other over grief. My son in law thinks I don't know but he has plans of having another dog in my life if I ever were to lose Kasey but he will be an very unhappy camper stuck with a dog. I could become attached to a dog in a heartbeat if I were younger but I am aware of the fact it would not be fair to the dog because a young dog will surely out live me so I would not want the burden of worrying about who would care for it if I should die. I already worry about that with Kasey but B.T. as already made his wife aware of the fact that if anything happens to me Kasey will be moving in and his wife said I already knew that. He knows Kasey's routine as well as I do and Kasey has know him about as long as she has known me so she will not be going to some stranger.   Sorry for getting off track a little but when it comes to dogs that is easy for me to do. As far as getting another dog while living in someone else's home. I would not do that but that is my thoughts on it. I would wait and get my own place first. As far as your dog being lonesome. :panic:  I would not worry to much about that. Dogs don't get lonesome because dogs have no conception of time. If you want to see it is an easy test. Next time you are away from your dog for an extended period of time, when you return home watch the reaction you get for coming home. Then a few days later get in your car and drive around for about 15 minutes and then return home and you will see your dog will react as if you were gone for hours. I have a vet tell me that years ago and about 5 dogs ago and each time I tested the dog it was the same............
  17. I don't think he was aware of the fact I was a veteran till I told him out on the porch but I did notice that he did keep his distance till they left the gathering. I think your people don't remember that there were wars prior to the last two which one is still taking place. I don't even think our education system even teaches on the Vietnam War. Probably because it was not called a war till Ronald Reagan called it a war. Until then it was a Policing Action or Conflict. I think that was so the VA could get around a lot of services our Vietnam Veterans needed but never got.........jmho
  18. This day in time you can drive into gang turf and not even know it till it's too late. The turfs are growing all the time and new gangs mean new turfs. Opry Mills has about become a gang turf and is dangerous at night for sure. There have been a lot of people shot and many killed just for making a wrong turn. I try to make sure I know if I am going to get near known gang zones but like i said they are growing................jmho
  19. I have been using a Black and Decker or about 8 years now. I prepare coffee the night before and when I get up next morning I have fresh coffee. It has auto turn off in 2 hours. I actually have two of them. One new in the box. Nothing I hate more than to not have my coffee in the morning. I bought these two while they were on sale at Walmart 8 years ago. Bought  the back up because got up one day to cold coffee. Old maker made the coffee but hot pad was not working. Heated coffee in Micro wave that morning but went that day and bought the two. As far as the beeper thingy, That would not really bother me because I am tone deaf and probably would not hear it anyway.   I guess if I was going to buy a new one I would read all the options offered by maker before buying it.................jmho
  20. There is an Amish store located right on wy 41 going into Greenbrier on right hand side that has quite a bit of Amish built Items on the lot.
  21. Well, my feelings are it would have been a big step forward for Tennessee and 2nd Amendment but I am good with the fact they have not done much to mess with Concealed carry which is my preference anyway........jmho
  22. Many people know that I carry a gun. Family gatherings when I take my wnd breaker off and open carry and people that are not family but friends that get invited to the shindig. Some of them will eventually get around to that question of. Would you really shoot someone???? Depending on who they are and the tone of their voice when asking has a lot to do with my reply. Most times I will try and be polite and reply only as last resort. If the person asking is kind of cocky like he may be an anti gun person my reply might be yea I would shoot someone and if need be might shoot them several times. I had one guy at a gathering a few months back of family and friends and he was totally determined to try and embarass the fact that I was packing a gun. He was a young cocky friend of one of my older grandsons. My grandson tried to get him to stop asking questions about it. Finally I went out of front porch because we don't smoke in daughters home and he and my grandson followed. He asked me if I felt like a tough guy because I carried a gun and he doubted I would use it or kill someone. I finally turned and looked at him and said,  "Son I have killed more men in my life than I would ever want to remember and it is not nor ever will be something I am proud of but people kill people in war. So now you know that i have killed in the past and if it ever came down to needing to defend myself or family or even a total stranger in danger by another yes I would kill again. With that he went back insde and made sure he kept his distance from me till he and his friends left. I was just wondering ow many other folks may have had that question put to them and what their answers were???
  23. Yea, I agree but with the Video world our children have seen the same ones we saw when younger. I asked my 10 year old Grandson if he wanted to do see it. His reply was why Grandpa? Haven't you see him before. He said I have so don't want to see it again. Even the kids are noticing the same issues I am.
  24. Gosh I am sure glad I didn't ask this question. I didn't ask it but I am still confused about which one I would pick. I would probably stay home, turn the lights down , put on her favorite music and order in Chinese. We do have a great Chinese Resturant here in Gallatin that delivers and they have great Chinese food.
  25. :panic: Gosh I need to get out more. I have never heard of any of these places. To me fancy is O' Charlies or Logans...........
