I think right now I am just going to say a Prayer for the young man in the hospital and his family. From what I have understood from the news releases the shooter was going to shoot the library teacher and that was his target and the young man in the hospital confronted the shooter to try and stop him when he was shot and another person was also injured but not seriously and prayers will go out to that child and their parents............. :(

I have said this about a 100 times so one more won't hurt. If you really are wanting to point the finger at the real issue point it at the Department of Health and Human Services and you have pointed out the problem. When they stepped in back in the early 80's and said we can show you how to raise your children because you don't know how is when the problem began and it has never been addressed that is was the one single biggest screw up in history. When the 800 Abuse numbers hit the televisions screens it took the power away from the parents and gave it to the children. DHHS didn't realize that the children were smarter than the people running the DHHS. The Children began calling the 80 number and reporting their parents as being abusive when it was not true. DHHS didn't take it as a lie and when they launched an investigation they were not discrete about anything. They went to the employers, neighbors, other relatives, and even the churches the people attended asking questions. They didn't care that the child might be lying before they destroyed the family and their lives. They did that for so many years that any investigation scared the hell out of parents until the parents were afraid to do any type of correcting or disciplinarian action of their children for fear the child would call DHHS. It was only in the past year or so that most of those investigations have been discontinued and that is due to the fact that DHHS does not have the funding needed to perform them. The damage has already been done and I don't know if it can ever be corrected. It was proven back several years ago in a case where a teacher took the time to actually spend time with one particular child and learned that she was truly being abused by a family member. The Teacher asked her why she never called anyone for help. The girls response was no boy or girl that is truly abused will ever ask for help. When the teacher asked why, she said because we all live in fear that the people will not remove the person or believe the child and when the abuser finds out that they were reported by the child the abuse would get many times worse. Now we are living in a time when all those young people that used the DHHS to control their parents are the same people that have children of their own but because they were never taught right from wrong as children they don't know how to be parents themselves. Now with this said. If you want to point the finger at the real problem point it back about 30 years to the real issue which was DHHS and it's policies. Between that and so many doctors putting kids on drugs for ADHD that didn't have it because the child was acting out and parents could not control them because of DHHS FEARS....................JMHO

Honest  Mav, when have the bad guys ever followed any rules but their own? There are two kinds of people when it comes to guns. The law biding citizens and the bad guys. One does their best to follow the laws and the other tries every way possible to not follow the laws. I honestly don't think there is an in between anymore.

I just went and viewed the vendors section we have here on the site which is probably I should have done when I joined. I will no longer be posting the sale items from Ammo Man and I do apologize to all the vendors here for posting them in the past. I was just wanting to help folks be able to locate ammo they may have needed and couldn't find. Won't make that mistake again unless Ammoman wants to become a Vendor here on the site. I did tell him he may want to look at joining the site but evidently he chose not to.      Bersaguy

Probably related in some way to some type of bullying that took place and was why the shooter had specific targets in play and after shooting them took their own life as many bullied people do.......................jmho

You are probably very correct about it going away pretty quick cause even when the good guys win they lose. They don't want to give any positive credit to the good guys for fear of it is disruptive towards their anti gun agenda's................... :rant: :rant:

I am beginning to think people are not in a Christmas spirit as the Newtown shooting took place just before Christmas about this time of the month. I'm not even sure there was a shooting but Fox is on top of it for sure. There has been no official announcement yet.

Well I would say that hair color does not matter when you kick in the door of any young lady and your looking down the muzzle of a Glock or any other large bore weapon. You know at that moment you picked the wrong girl.................Jmho

Well, I guess this is good news for me. A buddy stopped by here for coffee and I told him I was going to go computer shopping and he said why and I told him to go turn on my computer and try going someplace and he would see. He did and spent about 10 minutes typing and mousing and then told me to come and try it out. "Whallllla"!!!! and everything is working as good as new. He is a kinda geek type guy and messes with computers all the time. He listed a bunch of stuff that was wrong with my computer which most was like Greek to me but looks like I may not be going shopping now any time soon. He told me if I had any more issues call him. Sometimes it helps to have friends that are smarter than you are which in my case is most friends.............. :rofl: :rock: :rock:

  Many of mine are empty when I leave the range but never all. The gun I carry is still loaded and back ups for it are also in my mag packs on my belt. Other than that, yea most are empty and gives me something to do when I return home.....lol  Reload the mags..........jmho

Well, Its their own stupidity that is causing their problems. I think they have lost several of their biggest gun and ammo manufacturers already and more are looking for someplace to go by the numbers. That also drives away all the companies that make parts for the Gun manufacturers and the ammo companies. If you drive away some of your most popular industries you can expect to  have your corporate taxes to leave with them.........jmho

I have at least 5 magazines for every gun I own and they are all fully loaded and stored right next to the gun they are for. I would rather throw hot lead down range at target then throw an empty magazine at a bad guy trying to come in my door.  Have been doing this for many years and never had an issue at the range yet using Mags that have been loaded for a year or longer...............jmho

I have lived in Chicago while growing up and moved away at age 17. I have lived in Tennessee ever since. The crime rate in Chicago by itself is worse than the entire state of Tennessee even with Memphis. Heck the Populaton of Tennessee is just barely above the population of Cook County Chicago to begin with. I would never consider living in Chicago ever again. I think for the most part they are just trying to draw attention away from the real major crime areas beginning with Washington DC, New York and Chicago and how come Los Angeles was not included in that list. There are more gangs in LA that all of Chicago and New York combined. Is California that special they don't fit into the equation?...................jmho

Yea I know how folks are always wanting more speed. I figure most new machines will be much faster then this 10 year old box but my issues are not speed as much as just not getting booted off lone so often and downloading things and being told my computer that I cannot down load something because my computer speed is to slow or I get booted off in the middle of a download and have to start all over a couple times before I get the download complete. I figure there should be some sales on new puters with Christmas Sales going on. Anyone got any ideas what stores I may want to check with?  Any ideas would be appreciated.   Bersaguy

I would be willing to bet you would have no problems shooting the High Speeds as they are jacketed. You could probably shoot the Hi-Skor's also but I would want to make sure I cleaned my barrel after shooting them...........jmho I can remember when the Hi -Skor's were the top of the line rounds when I was a kid.

In today's times with the way the world is going and the way Washington DC is acting what this article portrays it not really out of the realm of possibility by no means. There is civil unrest all across many countries of the world and for those who think it cannot happen here they need to get their heads out of the sand now and just look around and listen to what is being spewed out of the mouth's in Washington DC and educate themselves of the facts of reality smacking them right between the eyes for being so naive into thinking it can't happen here or to me....................jmho

I have not been planning on voting for any incumbents so he was not going to get my vote anyway.........I think it is time for a bunch of new blood in Washington and away with all the Rino's and Career politicians and I think they all need 3 year term limits and their lifetime salaries for a serving a couple years cut to 1/3 their salaries and they should not begin receiving them until they reach age 65. Let them go back into the private sector and see how hard it is to find a job and then add it to their pension pay............jmho

I just hope they don't drag this out as long as they did Michael Jackson's life story. He was in the news over a year with people praising him and his actions and I think he really deserved nothing more but the dirt that is covering him right now but that is.............. jmho

Well I guess most folks are right about their opinions I have read. I guess I am just old fashion and remember Christmas in a different light and have not stayed up with the times. In all honesty I will just sit back and remember the old commercials from years ago and remember what Christmas is really suppose to be about. i have not had to do any Christmas shopping in years anyway. All my kids are grown and my grandchildren are all grown and having children of their own and I have just went to Walmart and bought gift cards for the Great grand babies and let their parents buy for them and put from Santa on the packages to them...............jmho
