  1. Welcome. Glad to see new members here. Cheers, Whisper
  2. SOLD Thanks for looking, Whisper I'm continuing to prune the collection and need to cut back on shotguns. Here for sale is a Beretta 1301 Competition, 12 ga, in excellent condition, lightly used (I took one shotgun class with it) and with the scarce option of two barrels. I had one barrel cut back to 20" for defensive uses (no choke) and the other barrel is 24" and has interchangeable chokes. These extra barrels are scarce -- I can't find them for less than $700 anywhere right now. With this setup you could have one barrel for defensive purposes and the longer barrel for hunting. The shotgun is the original 1301 Comp but I've added the aftermarket bolt release shroud to prevent the bolt release from accidentally moving backwards. It also has a picatinny rail already installed on the receiver and a +1 magazine extension. Included is a Steiner weapon mounted light (screws onto the magazine tube so can only be used without the mag extension). Comes in a Beretta hard case as shown, plus manual and choke wrench. $1300 to a TN resident legally able to purchase firearms. I live in Chattanooga but travel to Nashville fairly often and would drive a reasonable distance for a deal. Trades considered, although I'm not really looking for anything specific at the moment. If someone would like to purchase the second barrel separately, we can discuss. Thanks for looking, Whisper
  3. Have two of the TN Arms Co lowers myself -- one a lightweight .223, the other a .300 AAC. Never a problem with either. Cheers, Whisper
  4. I've seen photos of optics mounted on S&W revolvers but I don't know who makes the mounts. Taurus seems to be the only revolver maker seriously looking at optics-ready revolvers (they offer two models that will accept Holosuns). Cheers, Whisper
  5. Careful there, Gunlove. When you start asking questions like this, the next step will be asking why the .gov requires a license to braid hair. Then you're going to start looking at other things the .gov does that have no purpose other than to take money from citizens. And the thing that elected officials fear more than anything else is people asking, "Why does my government do this?" Quite down and get back into line, or no Soylent Green for you. Cheers, Whisper
  6. Somebody should be jumping on this Weatherby at that price. I'm a .270 shooter and I'd buy this one as a spare if I wasn't left-handed.
  7. I'm well familiar with both Mojo and with his old buddy Skid Roper. "Don Henley Must Die," Whisper
  8. I could probably part with a case, if you're not averse to Russian steel. Let me know if you're interested. Cheers, Whisper
  9. Ugh. I hate that they copied the overly swollen lever from the Henry. Those things don't handle well, IMO. Not like a nice 1892 or 336.

    Snow

I knew a guy who said that you should have 4wd on your truck so that if got stuck while in 2wd, you'd know it was foolish to be out in that kind of weather, and you could shift your truck into 4wd and go back home until weather improved.
  11. Merrell hiking boots with a pair of winter-weight socks work well for me. Merrells tend to have good tread that works well in the snow, plus there are several different styles so you have a variety to choose from. HTH, Whisper
  12. Montlake Sportsmens Club is indeed a great range.
  13. I'm thinking you probably meant to post this in the Classifieds section. Cheers, Whisper
  14. What exactly is this "after Christmas money" you write about? Whisper
  15. Barrel length of the gun? Choke? General condition, inside and out? You're not giving us potential buyers much to work with, and since you're brand new to the forum, this doesn't inspire much confidence. Hope this helps, Whisper
  16. Understood. Sorry you're in that situation. Wish you were closer. These are fine guns.
  17. Nice gun. Any trade interests? Thanks, Whisper
  18. Glad to have you with us. There are lots of knowledgeable people here and I bet you can find some assistance. Cheers, Whisper
  19. After years of threatening to do it, I'm finally going to get a few NFA items. I want a couple of suppressors and I want to make an SBS and an SBR. I understand that the easiest (maybe not cheapest) way to do this is through establishing a trust, as this eliminates the need for photos and CLEO sign-off, and that there are some places (Silencer Central, Silencer Shop, maybe others) that will do this for you online. I'm thinking I'd like to get my trust set up and then get my suppressor paperwork submitted, and while I'm waiting, file papers for my SBS and SBR, since I understand that waiting times for SBS and SBR approval are much shorter. Is this a reasonable plan? Finally, who's the best dealer to work with in the Chattanooga area? (Doesn't have to be within the Chattanooga city limits; I have read positive things about other dealers in the general vicinity.) And by "best," I mainly mean cheapest and fastest. Thanks, Whisper
