Thanks, folks. Just this morning I got my formal job offer, and I have accepted. I'll be starting the new job in February. 10-Ring, I understand your point about Nashville. My parents live in Manchester, and they are pretty far along in age, so I will probably look for a place to live not actually in Nashville, but somewhere south, like Rutherford County, convenient to work and close enough to Manchester that I can keep an eye on mom and dad. I'm a western NC resident but it looks like a new job will soon be taking me to the Nashville area.  I've never lived in TN before but my parents are retired in Manchester and my mother's family is from Camden, so I've visited the state a lot over the years.     Any suggestions about the Nashville area -- best gun shops, best gun shows, best concealed carry classes (I have my NC concealed carry permit but understand I must get a TN permit within six months) -- would be appreciated.   Thanks, Whisper
