  1. 1982 to 1986, 0811, Corporal. I spent most of my time in 3rd 175mm Gun Battery, (later re-tubed to 8" howitzer), in 4th Battalion/11th Marines in 29 Stumps.
  2. I voted no because I'm not that paranoid: however, as I advance in age and more incidences of home invasion occur each day that is beginning to change.
  3. Thanks, Suntzu. I know that I do.
  4. You're partly right, but a miss is still a miss. The comment that I was responding to was concerning the claim that rock covering the fossils doesn't form that fast. Mt. St. Helens is a Peléan volcano which underwent a Peléan eruption which consists of magma with a high water content building up pressure until it blows out the side of the mountain creating a pyroclastic flow that forms volcanic tufts; not a "molten lava", (redundant), flow pouring over the area in question because the water and high silica content in the magma makes it very viscous and not a fluid to be poured-out over anything. Heat and pressure formed rock out of ash and tufts for miles within a relatively short period of time. EDIT: BTW, sedimentary rock formation depends heavily upon the chemical content of the sediment itself. This is why you can see solid rock covering loose rock in the same strata.
  5. FYI: Mt St. Helens proved that wrong.
  6. Wow! This crap thread is still going? All this arguing with neither side submitting ANY facts to substantiate their claims. Why? Because there are none on either side concerning the topic at hand. But I'll tell you this: I'd rather meet my death full of faith and discovering that I was wrong than do so without faith and discover I'm wrong.
  7. If you really want to know: Genesis 1:28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. What does it mean to replenish something?
  8. For you pseudo-scientists: If in a vacuum, (space), a mass in motion remains in motion until it is acted upon by a force that is greater to and opposite of its force, and the big bang is the rapid expansion of all mass in the universe, (beyond the speed of light which scientists say you can't exceed i might add), then explain the existence of galaxies colliding at right angles.
  9. Actually, I think God is the epitome of a scientist.
  10. I understand her to be a typical Hollywood libtard. You'd have to keep her mouth, umm...occupied, to take her for too long. Same thing with Megan Fox.
  11. The pinky!?
  12. A poll from January 19th, 2010? Kind of late to the party isn't it?
  13. I started the guitar a few months ago at 49. I started with a guitar because I thought that was logical, but what I really wanted to learn is the bass guitar. I've had a few lessons, and really like it, but I get frustrated because life gets in the way of practice, and my fingers are so big that I have to cheat: using two fingers for the "A" chord instead of three.I have switched to the bass now, and find it much easier on big hands. If the guitar is the way you want to go then go for it. Doing it with your child is even better. Don't throw away that opportunity.
  14. G.I. Jane: As Demi Moore walks in the chowhall someone says that line. Later, Demi is shown taking a shower in full point as the Master Chief talks to her.
  15. Actually, that line is from another well-known movie in which the hot lead actress was also very "pointed" in a scene following that quote. Can you name the movie?
  16. Don't she know that it's rude to point?

  18. I never liked that analogy. It's not their house. They rent space on a couple of servers and perhaps a database. They don't even own the software; they buy rights to use it. It's more like renting a conference hall at a hotel, charging some admission to come in, and then throwing them out when they say something that you don't like or question the bouncers. EDIT: But like you said, if'n ya don't like it then don't come in.
  19. General Information You aren't allowed to dare question a moderator in public forum.
  20. Makes you wonder how it's can be unlawful to lie to congress or a federal agent?
  21. Since I was the police sniper on my department and the town had way too many groundhogs ruining gardens and the occasional dog, it was my job to snipe the little bastards while on day and evening shifts. We also had beaver in town, and I never saw them stray from the creeks. They look exactly alike with the exception of the tail. The groundhog is fairly tough too. You had to hit them square in the head with a hot .22LR round to kill them from 30 yards or better.
  22. Groundhog!
  23. That's right, you don't know Joe nor many others on this forum who have served our country. The statements you have made on this forum and the tenor of your question hinted at disrespect in your thought processes towards Joe, and that is why I cautioned you; not cursed at you. Also, you clearly did not comprehend the tenor of Joe's response either. You clearly do not understand enough about people in general - particularly people of the type in this forum - to keep from letting your typing getting you into more problems than you can imagine. This is the information age, and although you may not think it's possible because of the anonymity you perceive on the Internet, anyone can be found by a determined individual. As an example of how severe it can get, it was not too long ago that there was a case of an individual who pissed-of the wrong person, and that person traveled several states to hunt him down and kill him. I have met and dealt with Joe, and I am confident that he wouldn't do such a thing: however, you never know who else might read your comments on the Internet and react dramatically differently than Joe. Do not interpret this as a threat, but just a word of caution.
  24. Neither have I, and I hear regularly from many of them. Strel: A word of caution - tread lightly in your comments questioning people, like Joe, in which you have no idea of their background or service.
