  1. I hear ya. The sweetest pistol I've fired is my Ed Brown Kobra Karry, but for the danged price it better be sweet.
  2. The gun shop that built my sniper rifle had one of those that I couldn't afford at the time. It had a single set trigger that, went set, you laid your finger on the side of it, and then just by thinking fire it went off. Dang that was sweet! I wished it wasn't so danged expensive.
  3. What is the sweetest weapon you've ever shot? For me, I've shot weapons from .22 pistols to 175mm guns and 8" howitzers, but the sweetest weapon I've ever fired was a H&K MP5. It wasn't even mine. The PD that I worked for back in the day required us to purchase our own weapons, and that included "SWAT" weapons. I was the sniper, so I had a custom .308 made, but one of the officers bought an MP5. He let me shoot it both from standing still and on the move, and that thing was a natural born shooter. I wish I owned one today. It easily surpassed all others that I've fired.
  4. By not voting for Haslam you are casting a defacto vote for McWherter.
  5. Never thought you'd vote for McWorser...wow.
  6. I was there during Labor Day weekend, and it was not posted.
  7. I'd vote for him over the Democratic candidate because not voting for him is defacto voting for his opponent.
  8. Well all know that spouses never lie during the divorce process, right?
  9. I have a M&P 9c with Crimson Trace insert and high viz front sight if you're interested. PM me if you are.
  10. Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I was sued by the subject of a DWI arrest who claimed three different stories as to how I broke his back. First he claimed that I picked him up and body-slammed him. I'm 6'4" and 240, (back then), and he was a little feller, so it was feasable but not probable. The witness across the street said that never happened. Then he changed his story saying that I broke his back bending him over the trunk of the car to search him. The witness said that didn't happen either. Then his story changed to I did it while placing him in the back of my patrol car. Later I was able to supply them with proof that little buddy was working in the pits on a crew at the Pepsi Challenge at the I-70 speedway while he was on medical leave from his employer for low back surgery. At that point the insurance company paid that slug $10,000 to settle out of court!!?? 2.5 years later I attended a seminar given by a lawyer who specialized in representing LE's who sue people like that for making BS claims. He said that I could sue little buddy and his lawyer, and I told him another lawyer told me that there were no damages. His response was that even though I was cleared the chief of police wasn't there - thus doubt would always be present in his mind when it came time for promotions: there were the damages. Unfortunately, it was 6 months past the statute of limitations in Missouri.
  11. Gibson Guitars' factory is hiring. Gibson.com
  12. You know, this is why I like this forum: I am not, nor probably will be, a hunter. I do not like the taste of deer meat and have had no desire to freeze my rather large butt off while sitting in a tree waiting to nail Bambi. That being said, when I first read the OP I was wondering what the big deal was until I saw those pictures of the doe with the arrow in her head. I would have thought that a head shot would either be a kill or a miss up until I saw the pics. My FIL hunts with bow, and he's shown me the extremely lethal heads that are available today, (compared to when I shot a bow in the 70's), and that's what led me to the aforementioned impression. It's hard to imagine those new heads doing this. Thanks for being informative, ya'll.
  13. This video has been making rounds for quite awhile, and it has been proven bogus. I fell for it about a year ago.
  14. I added my entire family
  15. Anybody get a reply from the bed-wetter running that site?
  16. Revenue generation at its finest.
  17. I got an inexpensive scale a Harbour Freight and dang near blew-up my handgun. I have no idea how this happened, but it switched from grains to grams on me. NOT GOOD! I upgraded to the new Hornady electronic scale/dispenser that has a cover to prevent air flow from messing with the reading.
  18. Who's Antone, and how would we know if he has experience with this weapon?
  19. Unfortunately, your comments are not made public: therefore, it really makes no impact on the businesses.
  20. I have nothing but respect for this soldier. I just wish that it wasn't Obama awarding him the CMH.
  21. I suggest you go here to ask: Texas Gun Talk
  22. +1,000,000
  23. Then there's the pharmaceutical companies too.
  24. Nor go to a doctor because they kill more people than all of the above.
