  1. Do you have a gun that seems to go along on almost every trip to the range? No matter what your purpose, no matter what else you will be shooting. This one just seems to constantly find its way into the range bag. For me its my S&W Model 18-3. This particular gun was set up by a previous owner with a red ramp front sight, a smooth faced trigger and a wonderful trigger job. I added a set of Uncle Mike's combat grips and its pretty much a twin for most of my DA defensive revolvers. This is the gun that taught me how to shoot a DA revolver. It goes to the range almost every time I do and I always shoot at least 50 rounds through it almost exclusively in DA mode. Its my favorite gun. :D
  2. Greg makes a valid point. What are you gonna do with it? Hunting? .30-30 or .45-70 Self defense? A pistol caliber. Target shooting? Can't beat a .22. It all depends on your purpose.
  3. Open the pics with Paint and edit. Its easy.
  4. It ain't a competition. Just showin' off. Let's see others post what they got.
  5. I'll play. Single actions Colt Revolvers .44 Specials Hi-Powers 1911s
  6. The Nylon 66, while a wonderful shooter, is a very unique. I've never seen any other design even close to it. Clean the barrel, chamber and bolt face. Never, Ever take that thing apart. Trust me on this. I know.

Dadgummit, first post has been edited. I miss all the good stuff. I usually try to be a decent sorta guy. But under the right circumstances, I assure you I can go from zero to asshole in .006 seconds.
  8. Oh, there are lots of hardcore NRA believers out there. No matter how bad things get, they'll never say a bad word about the NRA nor will they accept any proof of mismanagement. They just refuse to hear it. Over on the big blue forum, any thread bad mouthing the NRA gets shut down almost immediately. When it comes to education, training or competition, the NRA can't be beat. Its the political side that's screwing us. WLP has gotten too caught up in playing the game and compromising us to death. I'm still a member mainly because my gun club requires it and the fact that they are the big kids on the block. Dwindling membership just gives the antis more ammo. However, I don't give one red cent more than my annual dues. I'm also a member of TFA, GOA, SAF and FPC. Now these I throw a little extra money to now and then.
  9. Norseman308: we're not trying to run you off. In fact, its just the opposite. We just need to get to know you better. As I pointed out earlier, all your posts have been in this thread. Try participating in some of the other stuff on this forum. Let us get to know you. Don't be a stranger.
  10. When you've been lied to, sh!t on and treated like crap for as long as we gun owners have, you tend to distrust any stranger claiming they just wanna help. Maybe you're for real, maybe not. The point is that we don't know you. Why should we believe anything you say? Much less answer an extremely vague survey? We have a great little community here. Maybe if you had made at least a little effort to join in on the rest of the board you might have had a chance. You aren't one of us and apparently don't want to be. You just want to use us for your own ends. I don't trust that at all.
  11. There are people who make big bucks creating polls, surveys and such worded specially in a way to insure the desired outcome. I looked at your survey and found it to be extremely vague. Nothing more than loose generalities. I don't trust it at all. Norseman308: for somebody who wants to be part of our community, Why do you only have 7 posts? Two in the New Members Introductions and the others all here. Are you not interested in actually joining us and discussing any of the many various topics here or are you just here to shill your survey? David makes a good point. Who the Hell appointed you our spokesperson? I sure as Hell didn't. I don't know you from Adam. Thus far you've shown very little to instill trust from any of us.
  12. SG has good ammo at decent prices. Not great prices, but cheaper than many others. Plus they have good sales quite often. I've ordered from them several times. Just got an e-mail from them the other day. They've got a pretty good price on Australian 62 gr 5.56 right now. Good stuff that you don't see all that often. They always have some brand of 9mm on sale. But when I'm in the market for ammo, my first stop is always Ammoseek.com.
  13. The used AR market is absolutely glutted with rifles. Just pick a decent name at a price he can afford.
  14. Very nice. I'm a S&W collector myself. But I admit to not being much of a .44 magnum fan. I done got too old for all that buck and roar. For big bores, I always preferred the .44 Special and .45 Colt. i got lots of those.
  15. Open the pictures in Paint and they're easy to resize. For once I'm glad you're too far away. But I am soooooo tempted.
  16. To be able to carry in other states is the biggest reason. Living in the SW corner like I do, I venture into Miss and Ark several times a year. Both honor the enhanced permit. And if LEO should happen to check you, the enhanced permit proves that you've had at least some training. I think that would put them more at ease with you.
  17. I'm doing good to get to the kitchen and back.
  18. I'm 69 years old and my house is paid for. I ain't going nowhere. I'll die in this house.
