Recommendation on small caliber revolver for wife
Grayfox54 replied to walton6467's topic in Handguns
HP expansion in .32 Long is pretty much non-existent. Just ain't enough velocity for reliable expansion. The load we settled on was the Mag-Tech 98gr SJHP. Good velocity, very accurate and decent penetration for a .32 Long. -
Recommendation on small caliber revolver for wife
Grayfox54 replied to walton6467's topic in Handguns
I've told the story many times about my wife's arthritis in her hands. She finally settled on a 2" S&W Model 30 in .32 S&W Long. She could shoot it very well and the recoil didn't hurt her hands. If you were to buy something in .327 Fed Magnum, she could shoot .32 S&W Long, .32 H&R Magnum or .327 Federal Magnum all out of the same gun. She could try the various cartridges and settle on whichever one she could shoot and handle the best. I really think that .32s are highly under rated. -
Shooting at Kroger in Bartlett at Stage and Bartlett Blvd!!!
Grayfox54 replied to The Legion's topic in General Chat
Technically, the shooting happened in Memphis. The guy ended up in Bartlett looking for help. But I'm also fairly familiar with the area where he was shot. A bit run down, but not dangerous that I know of. I'm surprised. I'm guessing the victim is OK and all is well. If he were dead it would be all over the news. -
Shooting at Kroger in Bartlett at Stage and Bartlett Blvd!!!
Grayfox54 replied to The Legion's topic in General Chat
What little I could find says the victim was shot near Raliegh-LaGrange Rd and Sycamore View. Then drove north about a mile to the Kroger store in Bartlett seeking help. Bartlett PD found him there. No other info at this time. -

You'd need 4 cups of coffee before you could pick it up.

I'm beginning to wonder. So many obvious dumb mistakes, changing members of Trump's security detail at the last minute when they had been warned of a valid threat, failure to notice the guy with a gun. Its almost as if they weren't really concerned with protecting Trump. Is anybody else thinking this or am I just nuts?

A lot of folks have been badmouthing Jack Black for the comments his band mate Kyle Gass made about "next time don't miss". As a result, Black has broken off his relationship with Gass and canceled the rest of their tour. Black may be a liberal, but he ain't a fool. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/tenacious-d-cancel-tour-jack-black-kyle-gass-donald-trump-joke-1235061226/

The old "Six" Series has been rediscovered in recent years for being the fine handguns they are. However, Ruger quit making them in 1988. Prices generally run in the $500-700 range these days depending on condition. JMHO, if you want the best .357, find yourself an older pre-lock, pre-MIM S&W 586/686. These guns were designed specifically for the .357 Magnum cartridge and are outstanding. But I caution against the new ones. S&Ws QC has gone down the toilet.

Honestly, I never cared for the GP-100. The thing has the ergonomics of a brick. Never felt comfortable in my hands. But that's just me. However, I'm a huge fan of the older "Six" Series DA revolvers and own 3 of them. You have nothing to fear. Rugers are built like a tank. I doubt if you could hurt one if you tried.

Trump is just a man like any other. It just wasn't his time. Simple as that.

Oddly enough, other than MSM saying it was an AR-15, both sides have been uncommonly quiet about gun control. Usually after any shooting MSM goes right to gun control. Curious indeed? I seriously doubt Trump will go anti-gun. He knows very well who his base is and where they stand.

I already voted early. But not for her.

Biden is calling for calm and lowering the hate. It ain't happening. I don't do social media, but I do regularly visit a site that's known for humor and memes. Its also a popular place for some of the left to post their poop. Especially their hatred for Trump and how evil and dangerous he is. Well, they haven't let up one bit. In fact, its gotten worse. They're especially zeroing in on the fact that the shooter was a registered republican. They talk about how Trump deserved it, had it coming. I highly suspect that site management is deleting posts suggesting that the shooter shouldn't have missed, but some come real close. The left has grabbed this ball and is running full tilt with it. So much for the tolerant and peaceful liberals.

The Secret Service is just another Federal Agency. With the current administration, DEI and all the other various BS that's invaded our government, plus the obvious failures of other alphabet agencies, why would anybody expect them to actually be competent? As far as I can remember, when was the last time SS was actually called upon to protect somebody? The Reagan shooting? Quite frankly, I kinda doubt the Trump detail had their best available agents anyway.

Lots of speculation, woulda, shoulda, coulda, disinformation and out right lies all over the TV and internet right now. Conspiracy theories abound. The simple fact is that there' very little proven info right now. So just hold up a bit and wait for real facts before making any conclusions.
