They need to put that idiot under the jail for a very long time.

Congratulations to you and your sons!

I'm shocked. I never expected this. I just knew they would be found guilty of all charges. Once again its proven that we have a Legal System. Justice has nothing to do with it.

Do you just do this as a hobby or do you want to make a full time business of it? Yeah, gun show buyers are looking for cheap. But some also understand quality. Quality brings repeat customers and spreads word of mouth. Some years back I met a holster maker at a gun show. Liked his stuff and tried one of them. Liked it so much that he has now become my custom holster guy and own several of his products. Bottom line is that it depends on how good you are.

I believe you're right. But don't know for sure. I asked over at the Sig forum and was told that Sig isn't near as forthcoming with production/import info as other companies. All I know for sure is that these are very scarce and damned hard to find. BTW: I did find out that the Browning BDA in 38 Super only had 750 imported. So they are even scarcer.

Picked this up yesterday. These are scarce as hen's teeth. Very difficult to find and even harder to find in excellent condition at a decent price. I got lucky! Sig Sauer P220 in 38 Super.

Its a Remington.

For me its the Colt/Ruger style single actions. I've owned 5 or 6 over the years. Sold them all. I grew up on westerns and always loved the cowboy guns. I have an ongoing love affair with lever rifles and own about a half dozen from .22LR to .45-70. The problem is that a touch of arthritis in my shooting hand keeps my middle finger from closing completely. The result is that a Colt or Ruger type plowhandle grip makes the back of the trigger guard slam into the middle finger knuckle HARD! It only takes about one cylinder full to have that knuckle bleeding and make it sore for days. However, I found a solution by going to a couple of lesser known cowboy guns with a slightly different grip shape. A S&W Schofield and a Remington 1875. But alas, I still yearn for a real Colt.

Unfortunately S&W's performance Center ain't what it used to be. They once turned out finely tuned custom guns. Now, you get something a bit fancier than the stock guns, but they really aren't much better.

Just recently, the carrier USS Harry Truman was on patrol in the Red Sea. They made an abrupt turn to avoid in coming fire which resulted in the loss of a F-18 and a tow tractor overboard. OOPS!

Mike Rowe from Dirty Jobs has a new show coming up on YouTube...
Grayfox54 replied to Grand Torino's topic in General Chat
A lot of people don't know about the Mike Rowe Works Foundation. Every year they give away a couple of million dollars worth of scholarships to people to learned skilled trades. Mike understands that its not white collars, but dirty hands that keep this country going. -
Yep and its only $34 a can. I'll pass. I can find cheaper survival food.

The .30 Carbine is notorious for stretching brass. It has to be trimmed after every firing. Perhaps you did trim too much. Also check the firing pin's movement in the bolt. Could be just enough crud built up in there to slow it down a bit or maybe shorten its full travel just a hair. Check the bolt face to make sure the cartridge head is sitting flush and square. Honestly, I'm just guessing here as I've never run into this particular problem before.

I'm generally not much for scratched up guns. But I gotta say that that looks good.

The 64-1 is the stainless version of the plain old Model 10/M&P Service revolver. Very popular, but also pretty common. I'd guess it to sell somewhere around $500, maybe more depending on the buyer. However, the Highway Patrolman/pre-28 is a sought after collector's item. Even in its rough condition it could bring $800-1000. As for a refinish, could just be a trick of the light. If the hammer and trigger are case colored, its probably the original finish. But if they actually are blue, it definitely has been aftermarket refinished and that will hurt its value considerably.

I've left the house without either on occasion. For me its kind of a "Aw Crap!" moment when I realize I don't have it. But then I just go on with whatever I was doing and don't worry about it. I pay attention to my surroundings and try hard not to need my gun. As for the phone, I never liked being tied to an electronic leash anyway. If its important, they'll call back. The one thing that bugs me if I don't have it is my pocket knife. I feel just plumb nekkid without that.

I own a couple of ARs, but I'm really not into them and don't know much about them. But I am curious about the various gas systems. What's the difference between a standard gas system and a mid-length? What difference does it make? How many gas systems are there? Which is best?
-
Yep, its real. I remember seeing them when I was a kid. Can't remember for sure, but I think I might have had one. But bear in mind that way back then, smoking was normal. Everybody did it.

Ten years or so ago I would have done it myself. But I've gotten old and decrepit. Can't do that sort of stuff anymore. It sucks to get old. Its only 90 feet, but the one estimate I've gotten so far is $3500. I'm looking for alternatives.

That Sears catalog had more than one use.

The last round of storms damaged my 30+ year old 6 ft wooden back fence. Its gonna have to be replaced. Anybody know or can recommend a good fencing company that won't break the bank?

Knocked down to page 5 in just 4 days? WOW!
