  1. We all make mistakes. Sometimes you find yourself having to break down those mistakes with a hammer type bullet puller. Forget about that irritating spring loaded case holder that comes with it. Instead, use the shell holder from your die set. It fits perfectly in the hammer, is fast and easy to use.
  2. I spoke to my son today. He told me that while in waiting, the nurse tried to call the doctor at least 3 times. No response. My son tried to call the doctor's office after he got home. They kept transferring him to the scheduling desk and all he got there was an answering machine. We still have no idea why the doctor didn't show. My son has a long list of people he'll start calling Monday morning.
  3. This is way overdue and needs to be changed.
  4. Exactly. I have no interest in how he wants to spin it.
  5. I wish it was that simple. The doctor was paid several weeks ago and the charge has already cleared. The hospital did their part perfectly. I have no reason or grounds to challenge their charges. Hell, I want that damned doctor to pay him back for that!
  6. To make a very long story short as possible, my oldest son (44) is diabetic. He's been having serious problems with his right foot for about 6 months. Several surgeries to remove infected tissue and has to constantly be on a wound vacuum. He can barely get around and has multiple doctor's visits every week, plus any normal running around he needs done. I'm his driver. Today he was supposed to have skin grafts put on his open wounds. This was to be the last step to getting him straightened out. Just a couple of weeks for this to heal and he'd be good to go. This was to be performed by a Plastic Surgeon. New doctor for him. We only saw this guy twice to schedule surgery. Frankly, he didn't seem real interested. He did insist on a $1200 down payment. Which my son paid. Because its the first of the year and due to my son's insurance and deductible, he had to pay the hospital $2800 in advance. Today was the day. We showed up a little early. The hospital did their part just fine. THE DAMNED DOCTOR DIDN'T SHOW UP! Not a call or nothing. He just never arrived! My son and I are both beyond pissed off!!!! We have filed a formal complaint with the hospital. But we can't blame them. They did their part and quite well too. My question is what can we do about this? Who do we file complaints with? What action can be taken? And then there's the $4000 he's out! What about that? Any and all opinions/ options welcome.
  7. I love .22s. I've got more .22s that I can keep up with. Rifles, handguns and .22 conversion units for centerfire guns. Easy to shoot, accurate and just plain fun! What else can you take to the range and spend hours for about the cost of one box of centerfire ammo?
  8. I'd love to see it pass. But as pointed out, its highly unlikely.
  9. I have one. Not much to look at, but completely reliable and combat accurate. Good gun. Norincos were used as a base for many very nice custom guns because they were so cheap. Yeah, the steel is very hard. I've also heard the old railroad track rumors. I've also heard that if the custom job included any mill work that the gunsmith would add the cost of a new cutter bit as the steel would ruin the one he used. I originally bought mine with the idea of customizing it. But then it occurred to me that there aren't many box stock Norinco 1911s left out there. So I left it alone. Buy it and be sure to post pictures.
  10. Appears to be a very early prank pic. Trick photography has been around since the invention of the camera.
  11. No, but it pays for a lot of them.
  12. I have one of the EP9 pistols and have been very happy with it. No major issues at all. The mags in mine tend to go in a tiny bit too much and feed lips will block the bolt. However, if you get in the habit of inserting the mag and then giving it a slight downward tug, it works just fine. Probably just my gun. You should also add a forward grip of some type. After a couple of mag dumps the handguard tends to get a bit warm. Accuracy and reliability have been excellent. Overall, I think its a great bargain for the price.

I guess we're in just the right place. Temps have remained below freezing, but the sun has been bright and working overtime. In my neighborhood driveways and sidewalks are now clean and so is much of the street. I haven't gone anywhere, so no idea what the rest of the city is like.
  14. Most of the current Generals got there by playing politics. Not by being warriors.
  15. I've been prepared for years. I do believe things will get ugly in November no matter who wins. I don't think I'm in much danger where I am. But Memphis could see some serious problems. As long as they stay away from me and mine, I'll just sit back and watch. I'm no expert, but I avoid dried or dehydrated foods. I believe that if the SHTF for real, that water will be more precious than food.
  16. If he really is a friend, don't hold back. He expects the truth from you. A smack up side the head probably wouldn't hurt either.
  17. The cops blew it big time. Its as simple as that. But a big lesson was learned. PDs everywhere will no longer hesitate. As for the DOJ report. We all knew what it would say before it even started. Its all about politics. Never let a good crisis go to waste.

The real problem is that the temperature won't get above freezing. During the day this stuff thaws a little and traffic melts some of it. But then it re-freezes as a solid sheet of ice. Instead of getting better, the driving conditions get worse every day. Gotta another Arctic blast coming in. Right now its 26 degrees. and falling. That's gonna be our high for today.

I had to get out a bit today. I was a little disappointed with Bartlett. They always did a much better job of clearing the streets. But there was at least one clear lane on the busier roads. Got a new mayor last year. I wonder if maybe he's not so much of a stickler as the old one was? Crossed over into Memphis for a while. Hell, they didn't even try to clear the streets.

According to the late news, Bartlett officially got 6". Current temp is 8 degrees. Normal temp for today should be 51. Not to get above freezing for the next couple of days. Just to add insult to injury, Thursday's forecast is calling for a wintery mix. Possible freezing rain and ice. Ain't that just dandy.

Here in Bartlett, we've got 4, maybe 5 inches. No, I ain't going out there to measure it. Temperature according to my thermometer is 19. In Memphis, officially, its 13. Staying my old butt in the house. Back when I was still working, the worse the weather got, the more likely I'd have to go out in it. It sure is good to be retired.
