Bill could make parents responsible for kids finding guns
Omega replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I think the point is that there are already laws on the books that can take care of gross negligence. If you put a law on the books which targets gun owners it opens the door to greater restrictions. I also don't feel all cases are the same, if a kid goes in and actively seeks out a weapon, comes out and uses it as intended, it is much different than when a parent leaves a gun in a purse in a vehicle with kids unsupervised. -
Bill could make parents responsible for kids finding guns

Just strikes me as a move to get an anti-gun law on the books. If this passes don't be surprised when a law is introduced making it mandatory to have all guns locked up in your home, ammo in different location etc.; making home defense nearly impossible. I agree guns need to be kept out of the hands of children when they are unattended, but every kid is different, every household is different and most don't need the government telling them how to raise their kids. And I am also wary of the wording and ages included, most kids are smart and can get into a locked container, know where parents keep keys etc. I think more emphasis needs to be put on training, maybe free safety classes sponsored by gun manufacturers, dealers and LGS; kind of how some 4-wheeler dealers give free training with purchases. -
Sends a bunch of pop up sites with fake virus warnings.

New York reload, so I guess this was handguns.

Many places rely on commercial firewalls that have many sites like this blocked, their IT guys will unblock sites if you email them so they can personally check it out and make sure it meets their guidelines. Think you have it bad, here at Ft Campbell, well our compound anyway, blocks most gun related YouTube videos?? But I guess you can't really blame the military, they just run YouTube on Restricted Mode which makes most gun vids unavailable. Many photo hosting sites are blocked also, so any posts here get little boxes instead of pics. If the photos were hosted by the site they would show up, but sites like photobucket are blocked.

Nice job, I haven't done any of my personal weapons but I did my M4 once before deployment. After having to clean them when we returned, I just used camo wrap on subsequent deployments. I have done a few ammo boxes though, but used stencils in place of the real leaves I used on the M4.

The only time they spoke of time, they said several weeks; not a specific time frame. But with the photo, cleanup and repairs they make it seem like over a month at least.

Maybe, civies have the first crack at them, if they serve time the military may just wait until they get out. No double jeopardy attached either.

Military Occupational Specialty ID10T (idiot); for our civilian members.

MOS ID 10 T.

A non-issue really, just a way to try and make us look elsewhere while crucial bills die.

Why not both? While they may not take many adult deer, I bet they do put a dent in the population; it's just that we have a large amount of wildlife and ATM it's hard to see the decline. In many places their effect has been felt, and at the rate we are going it won't be long for us to feel it as well. And now we have cougars joining in.

I at least commend them for being honest.

Yea, but then instead of a $4-500 judge he would be buying $8-1200 guns. Probably just gives them the money, if not pretty sure he would be covered after they got their CCP.

Frog Lube is the same as coconut oil
Omega replied to Dustbuster's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I have so many different brands and quantities of gun oil that I never have to buy another one again; but I did, I got WD-40's specialist: http://wd40specialist.com/products/corrosion-inhibitor/ after seeing a comparison of a bunch of different gun lubes. I could of gone to frog-lube, which did well also but I find a spray much better for me to use after a hunt or range session where I am in a humid environment. I always have some spray or another on-hand so no loss if it didn't work on guns after all. Personally, I don't jump on a product based on just the commercial or ads for it; I wait until a few users put out reviews. -
Saw this today and thought I would share for those that need this class or are thinking of starting up hunting: http://campbell.armymwr.com/us/campbell/campbell-events/outdoor-recreation-hunter-safety-course?eID=216547

I guess they can always go with black powder, not sure about GA but Federally they don't consider BP firearms. Either way a win-win, lower crime and felons must move out.
-
While not the best gun for many, it may not be a bad choice in an office environment. Close quarters with .410 is nothing any bad guy would want to encounter. As for the mandatory, it may be like that town/city in GA that makes it mandatory for all households to have a gun, no penalties for non-compliance.

What's on the other side, it seems quite interested.

No Gun Signs Coming Down at Legislative Plaza
Omega replied to 300winmag's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Probably as many times as people go in with out shoes, shirts, or light up a smoke, and can be handled the same way. LEOs have no more or less duty to come to anyone's aid as you or I, but I still feel they deserve the exception, to include retired LEOs. Again, they can have their rules, just like any private property owner. And if one of your guests takes a piss in your sink, you can ask him to leave (or bounce him out), if they do not then they can be charged with trespass. Again, no reason to have a whole different class of crime, there is already a law capable of enforcing the rules. -
Dang, I guess I'm in the market for a backhoe.

No Gun Signs Coming Down at Legislative Plaza
Omega replied to 300winmag's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
:stare: Just makes no sense to me. Most will acknowledge that these signs mean nothing to those that are willing to break the law, why target the law abiding? I thought laws were there to prevent crime, not make criminals. -

Taking away the force of law, leaving only the trespass law in effect.
