  1. Guns we have but you might have to travel a ways to find a beach BTW, welcome to TGO and good luck on getting down here.
  2. Ok, I just looked at my DD-214s and all of my awards are listed, but not all on one page. If he was in for 20 years, he might have 4-6 DD-214s and will need to check them all. That's about all I have to contribute.
  3. Your Grandfather should be able to get replacement medals from here at no cost. https://www.archives.gov/veterans/replace-medals If he doesn't have his DD-214, (Discharge papers that will list which ones he received) he can get a replacement here: If he doesn't have one, I highly recommend getting a replacement, it serves other purposes. https://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records/about-service-records.html
  4. Maybe this will help. Looks like you can order from them also. http://www.medalsofamerica.com/content--name-Army-Medals-and-Ribbons-Chart
  5. Somewhat related: Scientists discover pollution 10,000 meters below the ocean’s surface in the Mariana Trench https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/energy-environment/wp/2017/02/13/not-even-the-worlds-deepest-ocean-trenches-are-free-of-pollution-scientists-discover/
  6. I know the ones on this page are beyond what you want to pay but there's some good info on the advantages/disadvantages of a recurve vs a compound. http://www.bestcrossbowsource.com/best-recurve-crossbows-for-the-money-in-2016/
  7. If this was meant for me, don't worry about it. If the old saying about everything improving with age is correct, I'm nearing perfection
  8. Yep, that's one I can get behind.
  9. I quit looking at that, it always makes me feel old. Today, out of 44, there is only one older than me and most are 30-40 years younger.
  10. I guess this is more or less to let you know about a great place to get them. I needed some small jigs (1/80 oz) without a collar and didn't want to pay Basspro $5.50 for ten of them. Started looking on e-bay and found some, $12.99 per 100 + 2 free ones with free shipping. What blew my mind was I ordered them Thursday and got them today. The seller on e-bay is killerjigs and they're in Huxley, Iowa. They sell a lot of other fishing stuff too.

  11. I got mine at Tractor Supply upload pics
  12. Sounds like the person who drafted this bill has friends or family in the metal detector or armed security guard businesses. On a serious note, I don't really think this will fly.
  13. Have you asked the person in the sporting goods department? When our Wal-Mart does get .22 ammo it doesn't go on the shelf, it goes under the counter and you have to ask.
  14. Welcome to the group.
  15. The air in the boat was so bad they had to take our mascot topside for fresh air. Actually they got the little fella not long after left that boat so I didn't get to meet him. upload img
  16. I rode three WWII diesel boats (Subs) and some of those things you listed seem luxurious
  17. Welcome from the West Coast of the state
  18. Never fear, they will multiply . Welcome to TGO
  19. I normally order my things too but when I just need a few items it's not worth the shipping. Have your fly tying friends check out this site, they specialize in fly tying stuff and have a good selection. http://www.jsflyfishing.com/
  20. Thank you very much. They used to have a store closer to town but the last time I went there it was gone (this was in the '80s). I thought they'd left Memphis.
  21. Does anyone in the Memphis area know another place locally to get fly tying materials besides Basspro? I get tired of going down there just to find out that they have 1 out of 3-4 things I need.
  22. I think I have a tape measure in every room of the house and at least one in each vehicle.
  23. Check out this method.
  24. Welcome to Tennessee and TGO from just up the road. The two gun shops around here that have the largest inventories are Guns & Ammo on Summer and Classic Arms just off of Germantown Road. We have a Pawn shop up here in Atoka on Highway 51 that also has a decent selection of new guns (very few used). Of course, we have the two Basspro stores too. Shoot me a message if you have any questions about the area and I'll try to help. What part of Memphis are you located in? N, S, E, W?
