  1. Yep, that will solve all his problems
  2. We've all heard of the fights over bottled water, gasoline and other things. Here's something that brightened my day and re-confirmed my faith in humanity. Like many other Floridians bracing for Hurricane Irma’s arrival, Sanford resident Pam Brekke spent days racing from store to store for supplies. She was hunting for a generator, waiting for empty shelves to be restocked -- and her search was growing desperate. Finding one before Irma makes landfall wasn’t just to make herself more comfortable -- it was a matter of life and death. “My father’s on oxygen, and I’m worried about this storm," Brekke tearfully told WFTV. Brekke drove 30 miles Thursday morning to a Lowe’s in Orlando that got a surprise shipment of 200 generators. She was next in line to purchase one when she saw the final unit given to the customer ahead of her. If there were one more generator, it would have been hers. Brekke broke down, brought to tears by the thought of her father losing oxygen if the power cut out. But then, she was graced with a random act of kindness and humanity amid the chaos: The customer ahead of her, Ramon Santiago, approached and insisted she take his generator -- the last one in stock -- without knowing why she was crying. Brekke and Santiago embraced as a reporter caught the exchange on camera and posted it to Facebook. She thanked him for his kindness during her difficult time. “Everything is okay,” he told her before returning to his shopping. “I’m very overwhelmed by that man,” Brekke said, fighting back more tears. “God will bless that man." http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/09/08/as-hurricane-irma-nears-lowe-s-customer-in-florida-offers-last-generator-to-stranger-in-need.html
  3. I think he should keep moving the target to the left until he catches up with it
  4. I'm a member but don't get out there too often any more. I do try to make their swap meets.
  5. I've met Slappy and LCPfraTN because I've made purchases from them (not guns of course) and, depending on where he flies, I probably know MemHeli but not as a TGO member. Bigun probably lives within 5 miles of me and have probably ran into him without knowing it. Wouldn't be great if we had something to recognize each other by, like a ball cap or something (hint... hint)
  6. Depending on the time, place and date, I would love to meet some of the locals. Maroonandwhite, how long have you lived in Moscow. I had a good friend, now departed, that lived there (James Dickie)
  7. Here's a good write up on the Ruger LCR .22 Magnum. http://www.downrange.tv/blog/ruger-lcr-22-magnum-a-pleasure-to-shoot/31118/ The Taurus 991 Tracker is another possibility. It holds 9 rounds.
  8. I believe several companies make wheel guns in 380. The Ruger LCR in 9mm with critical defense loads would also be a good combo.
  9. I just checked the MSSA Schedule for what they have. If he's in school he won't be able to get out there for the .22 Benchrest, (Wednesdays at 2:00) They do have a .22 Silhouette shoot on 9/17 at 9:00 (Sunday) He might be able to get some information from someone before they start shooting. I think I found something: Won't hurt to give them a call. 10. Have him try here. http://memphis-ssa.net/. It's pricey but I don't know if that's a problem or not.
  11. I guess that explains why it hasn't gone up in the last 24 hours around here.
  12. Welcome to the group from another ex-Okie.
  13. I was going to suggest checking with Gateway Tire but it looks like your closest one is in McMinnville.
  14. J.J. Watts of the Houston Texans started a relief fund for the hurricane victims with an initial goal of $500,000. Within hours, it was over a Million and now stands at $12.3M. http://dailycaller.com/2017/08/31/j-j-watts-hurricane-relief-fund-went-beyond-10-million/

    Sad day

I'm sorry to hear this Bigun.
  16. I still remember what I paid at my last fill up before Katrina, $1.78. I don't think it's gotten back down there since.
  17. Our's has gone up $.20 a gallon in the last two days.
  18. That's somewhere in the neighborhood of what I would ask for my '96 STC
  19. It's kinda eerie here. As soon as it started the breeze stopped and there isn't any wildlife moving at all. My Bradford pear trees were full of birds and squirrels this morning but as soon as it started, they disappeared.
  20. Garufa pretty much hit the nail on the head. The area itself is safe but don't stray far to the south. The Pink Palace Museum is not too far to the east on Central and worth a look. You didn't say when you would be visiting but the Cooper Young Festival is on Sept. 16 and is a unique experience if you're a people watcher. I absolutely hate crowds but had a blast the time I went. Just thought of something else. I don't know if you are into tattoos or not but if so, David Evans at Underground Art is the best in Memphis. It's in the 2200 block of Young st. Even if you're not, they will welcome you looking around the place.
  21. Are we going to allow girls in our club?
  22. Does this help?
  23. My membership in the club was terminated. Reminds me of the BCD I got from the Boy Scouts
