  1. I have had many failure to files in my P22.  But it wasn't because it failed to rack a round.  It was because the firing pin failed to hit the round hard enough because the pull back spring failed to move the firing pin back far enough.  In my case it fired well for a while then started to get more and more failure to fires.  Looking at the rounds they came out dimpled but not fired.  Put the rounds into my LCR-22 and they fired fine.  The problem got worse and worse until I finally had to stop using the gun.  Replacing the spring didn't look that hard but I couldn't get the 1 pin out of the weapon.  If they had used a sold pin it would have been easy but the hollow pin they use I couldn't find the right tool to pop it out.  I finally gave up and sold the gun for 3/4 of what I paid after shooting around 15,000 rounds though the gun.   Thanks Robert
  2. I had a p22 for a few years.  I abused it for a few years and then the firing pin spring had to be replaced and I could get at it.  I paid $200 for the gun.  Shot more then 15,000 rounds though it then sold it during a gun buyback for $150.  It would have cost me more then $100 to have someone replace the spring so it wasn't a useful gun at that point.  I liked it enough I might go buy another one at some point.  You problem.  1) Make sure you don't get any ammo that is sitting straight up.  Have had that and it caused problems.  2) I had to hand bend one of my mag out just a little to loosen the release a little when I was having feeding problems.  Use your thumb to push the rounds out if they don't just slide right out it likely means the mag are a little to tight in the top.   Thanks Robert   PS.  I shot the cheapest crappiest ammo out of that gun with very little problems just need to lobe it up ever 1000 rounds or so.
  3.   If they are paying her using a W2 then she isn't a contractor but an employee.  Her job might be to do contract work but she is an employee of the company she is getting the W2 from.  As an employee they will pay half the SS money and they will take out needed taxes and just like any other job there will likely be Vacation days and medical care options.   Contract employee's are generally paid under a 1099 they take nothing out and you have to pay all SS and medicare.  That is a very important detail and will make a big difference in cost.  Generally speaking you should assume you will make about 2/3rd of what they will pay you.  So if they are offering you $44 an hour as a contractor I would assume it would be about the same as someone making $30 an hour as an employee.   Thanks Robert
  4.   No they are not.  There are some chicken that lay lots of eggs but they never get really that large.  On the other end there are chickens that get pretty large and really meaty but they don't do a good job of laying eggs.     Thanks Robert
  5. A fried of mine fly's small plains and sometimes the windows make it hard to follow his flight plan.  He has been known to use landmarks like roads to help him stay on course.  I doubt he flow that close to the road.     Thanks Robert
  6. Windows NT that at old.  Windows 3.1 now that is old.  Still have 1 in my company running in the one phone closet.   Thanks Robert
  7.   I have never seen any of the 40 or 45 lovers ever volunteer to be shot by a 9mm.  You will find that most of the police agency's in the state use 40's with a decent percentage using 45's and I haven't seen any that use 9mm.  I am sure there are some out there if you look hard enough but they will be fairly rear.  Some people prefer to use the same weapons and ammo there local leo us if you are one of them that is something to keep in mind.  My personal view don't assume a .40 will be easier to shot compared to a .45.  The .45 have a huge bullet on them but they pack only about 20% more powered so they tend to be slower and in my opinion aren't as hard on your wrist and that can greatly improve your accuracy.     Update: Fine changed it to fairly rear.   Thanks Robert
  8.   As someone who moved from the Peoples Republic of Maryland and before anyone asked already registered as a Republican.   You can buy a gun pretty quickly if you want to.  The requirement to setup residency is pretty straight forward.  If you have a DL you must replace it with a TN one.  I am not sure what the law says on DL since I wanted to kiss the state of MD goodbye as fast as possible.  I went into closing on the house the 14th of June.  My stuff left my old house in Maryland on the 22nd I also arranged to have Power/Water turned as well.  I spent the night of the 22nd in VA and by the 23rd I was in a hotel in TN waiting for my stuff to get down here.  I had the Cable Company out on the 24th of June.  On Jun 26th I took my Birth Cert, The Cable Company install invoice, My deed to my new home and the money to pay the license fee (Compared to Maryland they are cheap I am thinking it was around $30).  Note both TN state and my county charge a fee to use a CC it was under 2% of your total charge.  That day I left was a paper DL and they mailed our new hard plastic DL to us it took about a week.  After I left TN homeland security office were you get you DL I could have gone to a gun shop and bought a gun if I wanted to.  Although I have no idea if any of the FFL would have pushed back on the paper DL.  Might have had to wait a week for the hard copy one to arrive.   One thing to note.  In TN you get your DL from the state but you register you Car and get License plates from the County you live in.  So you can't get them both in the same place.  My entire life I have lived in states were you got both at the same place so I hadn't planed enough time to go 2 different places.  You have 30 days to move your plates over to TN once you establish residency.   Warning because you get your plates from the county there can be wide differences in cost and requirements for getting plates in your county.  For instance Brandy county doesn't require emissions testing and cost just $35 for plates and title transfer (It cost me $37.50 in July when I got plates in part because I used a Credit Card).  Whereas according to there website Davidson county requires emissions testing and cost $90 for license plates not sure if there are any other costs based on there website.   Since there is no personal income taxes in the state of TN that is great but they have to get money from somewhere and they get it one of 2 ways.  Sales taxes and property taxes.  Sales taxes in the state start at I believe 7.25% state portion but most county's and city's add in there own local charges as well.  It seems to be in the 9% to 11% range and property taxes really different in some area's.  My home on 1 acre in the county not part of any city is like $600 a YEAR.  Some places can be more then that per month but being from NY you likely understand and known to look out for that.   Thanks Robert

    Paypal

The card has no yearly charges.  It is a 19.99 APR and that is not great I have many way below that but then again I have never paid any interest on the account.  I really don't like having my Checking Account linked in any way to my Paypal account.  If you pay the card off every month then the high interest rate is a none issue.   PS.  I have seen higher interest rates then 19.99 so it isn't the worse I have ever seen.   Thanks Robert

    Paypal

Unless you get a PayPal credit card then you can still have an authorized account without a bank account.  For me it was worth getting the Pay Pal credit card just so I didn't have to have my bank account linked to my PayPal account I have pulled money out of my Checking out more then once by accented.
  11.   I don't think this has anything to do with any proposed gun control and more to do with the shooting at the church in Charleston, The Chattanooga shooting, and The Baltimore Riots.  All these added together to make people more jittery I know I am.  Those of with MANY guns sitting in our safes wont run out and buy a handgun but someone who doesn't have any might think it is a good time to go buy one.  Many of those people will stick it in some kind of safe and never shot it but some will go to a range and learn how to shot it and some of those people will get hooked and buy more.  No mater what people having guns available to use is not a bad thing.   Thanks Robert
  12.   That one I proved false in High School :)   Thanks Robert
  13.   Just be careful of how long to stuff will stay in the soil.  Some of those sprays will take decades to get out of your soil and tend to spread over time killing your entire yard.   Thanks Robert

    Papa Johns

There is a hint of logic there if you aren't around guns much.  If someone walks in with a Gun they can assume to be there to robe the place but what they found out is that a good percentage of there customer legally carry and didn't like the sign at all and told them as much.  It sounds like they way underestimated the number of people who legally carry into there place.   Thanks Robert
  15.   I don't see anything to purify water.  Likely the thing that will kill more people then anything else.   Thanks Robert
  16. True're words have never been spoken. Thanks Robert
  17.   This is a Scam.  I have gotten the calls several times.  I didn't even have a windows system running the 1 time they called.  They are tiring to get you to open your system up to remote so they can login and steal any personal information they can get there hands on.   Thanks Robert

Incorrect if you get a PayPal CC it can be set as your default and not require your bank account.   Thanks Robert
  19.   Letting your guard down is bad.  Having the piece of paper to help prove you were in fear for your life a bonus on the the Prosecutor lottery if you happen to have to defend yourself.  Anything that helps you if you have to defend yourself in a wrongful death suit or manslaughter trial is a good thing.   Thanks Robert
  20.   Helping the Truly poor is a good thing but long before the Federal government decided to waste billions on aid the truly poor were getting help from private groups.  The fact is all the Government did with it war on the poor has managed to do is create more poor people who don't respect anything or anyone and just expect a handout.  If we really want to help the poor we need to start to cut Government programs and force people to actual work.     Thanks Robert
  21.   Has iTunes ever been easy to use?  If it wasn't iPod, iPhone, or iPad very few people would be using iTunes if it wasn't for those devices.   Thanks Robert
  22.   Have you figured out what part of the state you are looking to move to?  That can really help narrow down the answer.   Thanks Robert
  23.   Welcome from another former Northerner from the crappy state of Maryland.   Thanks Robert

  25.   As a Maryland who moved to the Chattanooga area just last month I can tell you for the most part the people are pretty friendly.  Just have to get use to the fact that they talk allot quieter then they do up north.   Thanks Robert
