You can use standard lower. I ran mine with an H3 weight buffer when I had it. I went with Alexander Arms back in 2010 and even then they had crazy lead times and IIRC I paid almost 1400 after PA tax for the Overmatch A3 upper. Id go with a complete 12.7x42 (its still a .50Beo) upper from Radical Firearms http://www.radicalfirearms.com/product-p/fu16-12.7x42-15fhr.htm I have heard great things and for more than half the price ofo of an Alexander Arms upper its a good deal all youd have to supply is a complete lower and you can get in the game with less than 1K Ammo is the other thing...its gotten a bit cheaper but the good news is since its straight walled you can reload it easily, with plated or coated cast bullets you can keep the cost down low after you source the brass. I actually like Burris products, when I did have a Mk12 clone I used a Fullfield E1 3-9x on it. I dont have much experience with the one you have in particular but Id buy with confidence. Also good move on ditching the reflex dot, besides screaming mallninja the manual of arms on a sight mounted on your sight are a bit wierd - not impossible but awkward at least for me. The books set their standards via either an average or median value of various weapons and barrel lengths. Its a guideline not a dogma - so it WILL ALWAYS slightly vary. My problem with unique is that its fairly slow burning and meters like corn flakes mixed with frozen milk shavings. I try to seat at least to 1.120 if possible and adjust my powder. Like to see your crimp too, all that affects pressure. I reccomend switching to Titegroup, HS6, Win 231/HP38 first off but thats personal taste and availability. It will - I think it burns similiarly to unique - at least from the powder charge weights. The Speer #12 or #13 has load data for 230gr IIRC.
