  1. HaSus this is old... I work for local Gov't..I'm one of those plant guys
  2. ^^^ Do you have any idea how simple it is to produce a nuclear bomb if you have the capability to enrich uranium aka fuel for a nuclear reactor that produces electricity? Iran with nuclear capability is a scary thought.
  3. Looks great. I'm looking forward to more Hero Gear branded items. The three day pack sounds great. I'd much rather purchase items made in the USA!!!
  4. Remington single shot .22 and H&R Topper 20 ga. Started shooting the .22 when I was 4.

    AR-15 Jam

That's what I was thinking. It the round isn't even making it out of the barrel I would call it an ammo problem. No powder or almost no powder.
  6. Go for the Springfield...hands down.

    AR max range?

Sounds like fun FroggyOne2, if nothing else it would be a good time to just watch. Unfortunately I will be headed into Florence on Sunday morning. There will be no fun or firearms there. ugh...

    AR max range?

Cool....I haven't shot competition since '95. Mmmm...I smell new toys.

    AR max range?

Same here. If I have to hit something at 600 yds with iron sights I'm going with the "spray and pray" method!
  10. IMHO. First figure out SPECIFICALLY what you are best suited for and COMMIT to it. I mean really commit...no half assed or half hearted attempts. If I could go back in time I wouldn't have wasted my time in manufacturing and machining. Seems like that sector is shrinking fast and advances in CNC machining proceses are taking the skill out of it anyway. I would have gone medical, if you have the stomach and temperament for it, I don't. Or the military. I have always been into firearms and long range shooting as well as tactics and logical reasoning. I just never had the direction to get there.

    AR max range?

I'm afraid you are right Dave. I have always been more of an accuracy person...old habits die hard. I would rather shoot beer cans at 500 yards for fun than a shotgun pattern on any day. Looks like there may be another rifle or two in the safe that I forgot to tell my future wife about...uhum..."big safe hun, I musta forgot about that one". I have access to a great place where I could probably shoot 2000+ yards (if I was capable). So, roughly 1k for the rifle and about 4-500 for optics? I have also looked at several of the Tikka rifles. I'm not familiar with them but they read well. Any manufacturers to avoid?

    AR max range?

Ok...first off I have to admit that my knowledge of AR's and black rifle's is very limited. With that out of the way, what is the maximum range of an AR? More specifically a Bushmaster M4A3 18" barrell? No mods, just out of the box. I have always wanted a very accurate, long range rifle again, like a Remington 700, or M1A, in .308 but that's probably not gonna happen for a while. (House, wedding, new wife, etc). Although I would find some irony in buying one with part of my "stimulus" money. ha. What kind of mods can you recommend to increase range and accuracy? Or would I be better served just saving up for the Remmy or M1A? All opinions welcome!!
  13. I could only get the second one to work. But I crackek up at the part where the 911 operator asks if the husband shot the guy, the answer was yes, and then he asks if an ambulance is needed...lol. Nope, cause ya know those gun shot wounds don't usually cause any damage...hheeeeeeres your sign!
  14. I thought I had heard of everything....but I don't wanna know where the jumper cables go!!
  15. I still think the Gov's ONLY motivation is political. He's not planning on running for re-election. So he doesn't care about anything he has said or committed to in the past. His main focus is getting a Democrat as his replacement in the next election cycle. By vetoing this bills, which are are against many of the principals held close by Democrats, he is providing ammo (pun intended) for the next Demo candidate.
  16. Here ya go! What? What were you expecting?
  17. She's a beauty. Does it have the polished SS guide rod too?
  18. There is a browned finish that was used at one time. I remember my 1987 being blue'ish when I was really really young but it is now more of a brown color.
  19. Yep. I have a Winchester 1897 that has turned the same color over time.
  20. Maybe he knew the girl here who used a FROZEN hotdog. Remember "A Christmas Carol" when Mikey (I think) sticks his tongue to the flagpole? Yeah, same thing. I don't have her equipment but from the way she was acting it hurt like hell.
  21. I think they called them "Gallery Guns" because they were used in carnival shooting galleries. My grandfather mentioned the little .22 short pump action rifles he used to shoot a the carnival and this one looks exactly as he described.
