  1. The best advice I can give anyone who's concerned about the ever changing local political climate is to get involved in their community. As many here have admitted to the "text rather than talk" won't get it done. If you don't show up and voice your opinion and choose a passionate email instead then you better be prepared to lose your argument. I saw it first hand 20 years ago in my county when someone didn't like "lean to's" for a dog house. That led to wanting to tell me how I kept my yard 20 miles out in the country. I showed up as well as a lot of other "passionate" residents and it was tabled and eventually buried. Doesn't work every time but to this day when I see one of the proponents of the proposed resolutions he still remembers me
  2. I didn't click on the link but all one needs to do is attend a town hall meeting every now and then. I wouldn't say it was specifically gun laws they want to change but the threat of making it like the democrat ran city they escaped from has been prevalent for decades now. Luckily there are still enough natives to keep the new guys in check.
  3. I use to have the full size GI model. Never had an issue with any ammo i ran through it. Great basic beginner 1911 if you don't want to break the bank your first time out.
  4. Just add it to the growing list of companies no longer American owned and in a lot of cases American made.
  5. I figured there were several here looking at the big tech situation but wasn't sure where that would be posted or where the line between tech safe/ conspiracy nut would be lol. I've purposely practiced moderation when it came to social media sites and I am SO thankful for that right now.
  6. I personally believe a lot of people who never owned one went out and got one for HD when the SHTF on the left coast and chants of defund the police turned into officials reviewing how much they could cut back in their city. Then we had a spell of destroying stuff all over the country for a bit. There are still people out there believing/expecting the PD to get there in time to save them from a burglary, home invasion, etc. MSM helped sell a lot of those guns whether they intended to or not. They froth up the fear factor same as they are doing now and will continue to do up until the 20th at least. In a negative for gun owners and 2a this time around. To that though, I feel like a lot of those purchases could be called in fairly easily by the incoming administration by the ever popular "buy back" program, reaffirmation that your police will be there for you , and constant hammering on your intellect to infer you're a dumbazz for wanting to own a ar14 killing machine. Then much like after Vegas you'll have those that will post a video of them destroying their newly bought weapon in hopes it will spread like an STD ❤. I shutter to think how much privately bought ammo will be donated to local PD like clothes to a goodwill.
  7. Dammit ! Now I'm off to spin some BS&T at 330am
  8. https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/5717/text Not sure if this has been posted before. If so scrub it. Not read every line yet but a quick overview doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling
  9. Let's hope its something more reasonable like human trafficking
  10. You know the neighbor well ?
  11. I should have posted links to the articles I read weeks and months back but we had a politics police that insisted on hammering your source like a dog humping a shoe so I abstained. Understand I TRULY hope I am wrong. Nothing would please me more. But these articles came to me from a seasoned female ER/trauma Doctor. One who doesn't keep up with guns but has heard guns, health crisis, and CDC mentioned more and more. I believe it dates back to late in the Clinton years iirc. But the article that stuck out and related to our 2020 issues was the parallels to covid and guns.
  12. I bought several books of forever flag stamps Jan 2020. I started putting it upside down on my outgoing when the mandates started .
  13. I've always looked at it like an analogy where there's a group outside the castle with a battering ram. What movie ever shows it as they just walk up and go bonk and the castle door is unhinged. Its constant pounding and eventually they breach it. They've got more people holding on to that ram than ever before.
  14. I share this viewpoint. Just like the feeling that at this moment its hard to tell a difference in parties. Some are gonna be upset by that, others are rejoicing . What better moment for a "lets come together 9/11 esque" moment than to once and for all ban these evil weapons that have assaulted our children, our loved ones, shattered lives,etc.. Let's start a new administration, a new America, with doing the right thing and banning those (insert demonic rhetoric here) and start to heal with growth and hope and change. Or something like that
  15. I believe the next administration will declare gun violence a public health crisis, circumvent laws put in place in years ago to prevent that very thing via the CDC, and drive it through with an EO or similar act. I believe in the wake of the pandemic a large amount of our citizens would accept it as "common sense" laws and go back to wringing their hands about the newest strain of death.
  16. Before this thread derails further toward politics please take the time to read the message at the top from @Chucktshoes
  17. Don't waste your donation with ol Nancy's door, word is the city came out and cleaned it up real nice
