  1. Good info. Wolf primers have a good reputation for low ES and SD which would agree with your real world testing. By any chance have you had the opportunity to compare the Wolf's against CCI BR or Federal GMM primers for ES/SD?
  2. I don't really think that anyone but you could make the leap that I meant that Nazis were okay because they hated communists. I was simply saying that Nazi's hated communists but they WERE socialists, like you.
  3. Read the next to last sentence of my post again. Also, it's not exactly completely different. In both examples that I had provided the other party essentially "agreed" to the "deal" through ignorance or oversight. I didn't because it wasn't right. Period. Even though in both cases I would have been the beneficiary in the "deal".
  4. Good post overall Leroy. I just have to take exception to one little point. The Nazi's were in fact socialists- The National Socialist German Worker's Party. They did however hate communists. Otherwise, good work. But with strel it is falling on deaf ears.
  5. I just can't understand how anyone can condone this behavior as reported here. I realize that a sucker is born every minute, but there's a thief born every minute too. A few years ago a client overpaid me by several hundred dollars for some work. Apparently she had forgotten the price we had originally agreed upon. When I looked at the check after I got home, I immediately called and informed her that she had overpaid and drove across town to her house to get a new check for the correct amount. She would have never known she had overpaid, but I knew. Just the other day I was at Waffle House paying my check. I noticed that the waitress was about to give me $1 more change than I was due. I told her that she was about to give me too much change. She would have never known, but I knew. I don't care if it's $1 or $1,000, My soul is not for sale. I will never take advantage of another person even if they should have known better. And I have no use for anyone who could.
  6. Powder Valley has great prices but I still buy all my primers from Wideners. They're local for me and I can pick up at the warehouse and dodge the hazmat fee.
  7. I've been known to say ustacud on occasion. And my grandfather always called soft drinks dope too. He also pronounced Toyota tI-yO-tEE(as three distinct syllables). I always thought that was funny.

    Short List

My short list: Commander size 1911 in .45 Full size 1911 in 9mm Remington or Savage Custom in 6.5-284, 6.5 Creedmoor, or .260 Rem. M1A M4gery USFA SAA
  9. Thanks for the heads up. Really good deals. I ordered a few things for myself.
  10. Instead of trading that Colt, why not try to sell it in the classifieds here? You'll get more than any shop will give you on trade and 1911's seem to move pretty fast through the classifieds. Heck, you might even find someone who would want to trade a 29 or 629 for it. Worth a shot anyway if you're not in a huge hurry.
  11. Is District 9 the first thing that came to anyone else's mind or is it just me?
  12. That was extremely gross. Can't believe anyone could think that was a good idea.
  13. I really like Palin's message and think she is definitely what this country needs in many ways. But you are right, she will never win over the majority of voters. The liberal media was very successful with their intense smear campaign in 2008. I think Michelle Bachmann needs to take the reigns. She is philosophically basically the same as Palin, but has avoided the wrath of the liberal media thus far. Most of the people will believe what they're told by the media, which is why Palin has relatively low approval. See our current president for proof of the power of politically run media persuasion.
  14. I can't compare him to either Lenin or Hitler, but politically he is more similar to Hitler(Socialist). The thing that really separates him from both Hitler and Lenin is that they both sought to make their countries forces in the world, to make their countries better than the rest. Obama seeks to take what is already exceptional and make it ordinary. That is the key difference I see at this point.
  15. +100. Although I hate using the term liberal to refer to these progressives/socialists. They are not actual liberals by any stretch of the imagination.
  16. I think the point was that if all 1911's are unreliable because a few of them are, then all plastic guns explode because a few of them have.
  17. Actually it would take closer to five minutes to smoke a cigarette. Factoring in the fact that he would have to sleep at least a few hours a day, he would have been smoking non-stop.
  18. +1. With the way tobacco is taxed nowadays a heroin habit would have been cheaper.
  19. Or because we just like them. I own other brands of pistols too and I shoot them all. But the one handgun I have that goes to the range every time I do is a 1911. They just fit my hand better and point more naturally than any other pistol I have ever shot. The fact that every one else buys them too is just the icing on the cake.
  20. I think you are somewhat correct. Although I am sure many would argue that the Rock Islands and a few other 1911s that are at or below the price of Glocks can be just as reliable. I don't know as I have never owned an RIA or similar level 1911, but I have heard that they are actually very reliable regardless of price. It is true that the 1911 platform was not designed to be a cookie cutter massed produced firearm like a Glock, XD, etc., the technology was very different 100 years ago. The 1911 was designed to be hand assembled from mass produced parts. The platform is absolutely capable of 100% reliability with appropriate ammo, but any time you bring significant hand assembly into the equation you can expect some errors to be made. Of course there are plenty of Glocks, Sigs, etc. that don't run 100% right out of the box as well. Honestly, I seem to hear of more initial, out of the box reliability problems out of the high-end custom 1911s than I do out of the looser toleranced RIA, STI Spartan, and Springfield Mil-Spec level guns.
  21. +1. The 1911 platform is certainly not unreliable. One year shy if its 100th anniversary and it's still in use by SWAT teams, the FBI HRT, and a few military spec ops forces. That just doesn't happen with an unreliable platform. My guess is that if 50 different manufacturers made a copy of the Glock 17, it would get a quick reputation for being unreliable too.
