I have to agree. I think we should just get rid of the criminal punishment, which is the sticking point of this law. And instead make it LEGAL to kick someone who lies about their military service square in the nuts. We need more legal things and less illegal things. Let's make it so anyone is free to lie about military service as long as they accept that I am free to punt their berries clear inside their abdomen if I know they're lying. Problem solved. The same solution should work with flag burners too.

No one is asking any judge to be an activist in this case. They are asking a judge to be the opposite. Ruling on law based on the Constitution is the exact opposite of judicial activism.

I was involved in the Man Robbed at Local Gun Store thread and was critical of the deal that was given to the person in that post. I have since read the detailed response from the owner of the Reloader's Bench. I didn't see it until that thread was closed or I would have apologized in that thread. I still stand behind my opinions on the subject of taking advantage of people, but it is clear that the owner of Reloader's Bench didn't take advantage of anyone. I am sorry for piling on without having all of the facts.

Yes, exactly the same situation. Right and wrong is between me and my conscience, other parties don't have any bearing on it. I was just trying to see if there is a difference between the man in the OP and my little old lady. And no one expects anyone to always get full market value for everything. There is a difference between full market and fair. I would offer my "little old lady", or your "wannbe Rambo type", at least $350. Any less and my conscience wouldn't allow it. It's a matter of right and wrong. Some people get the difference and some people don't. It's really as simple as that. Also, I'm fairly certain no one here wants to see any more laws passed. But just imagine how many fewer laws and problems we would have right now if more people just remembered the golden rule.

Nancy, I agree with everyone else here. Bluing is most definitely refinishing. The value of that fine shotgun will drop greatly if it is reblued. And +1 for wanting to see some pics of that Sauer.
