  1. Spoke too soon in this thread. Got an awesome deal on a Vz. 61 over the weekend. Never fired, 8 mags, 350rds of 32auto, folding stock and hardware (might SBR in the future), and a few other odds and ends. Never know what you'll find when perusing the classifieds.
  2. I was tickled to get a box of 9mm for about $6 a box and 45ACP for about $16. Couldn't say no and bought the max amount of 40 boxes. Would've bought all 9mm if they weren't sold out! Felt lucky to get what I did!

    Sig 226 or?

Gander Mountain does price match, just not online prices. Check around with local dealers and you can have the price matched + 10% of the difference. @ma6907 taxation is theft!
  4. Finally got a tracking number and it's currently being processed! I guess I drug my feet too much when I sent it off and all of ya'll sent it immediately. Regardless, it'll put a few more bills back in my gun fund.
  5. I started following him per your suggestion. Definitely has some cool and rare guns in his collection! The reason he wears sunglasses all the time is due to him being blind. I was curious myself when I saw him shooting with lens covers still on. Down in the comments it said he's blind. More on topic for those of you with a C&R and have had to move. Is it a hassle to do a change of address form for your license? After this next move I think I'm going to file my paper work for one depending on the hassle?
  6. I guess I still think I live in Alabama with very few reciprocal states...
  7. I haven't looked into it a while but from what I remember Nevada or Utah have some of the best reciprocity. There may be more but those are the 2 I know of. I've looked into Utah but I have a buddy back in AL that went the Nevada route.
  8. If you order your firearm in store, the shipping is free. Just an FYI.

    Sig 226 or?

Interesting article and thank you for sharing. Admittedly, I don't have any handgun training other than a Sergeant Major giving me a crash course on shooting an M9 and telling me I better qualify or I'll be reassigned to a different mission. One day I would love to take a few courses that some pro's or retired SF guys offer. One can never learn too much.

    Sig 226 or?

I stand corrected. He said the reset is shorter than a PPQ. Best trigger reset he has ever felt. He also like's the sights compared to the CZ. Now granted, his SP01 is factory so we aren't comparing standard guns. I'm sure something from CZ's custom shop or one that's been "Cajunized" might be a better comparison to keep things equal. Might have to keep my eyes open for a used 226 Legion now when prices come down.
  11. Did some more reading and on the CZ owners page on FB someone spoke with a CZ rep and the P10c's are supposed to ship either the end of this week or first of next week. Shadow II's will follow shortly after.

    Sig 226 or?

Wow!! $2k for a 92G!?!?! That's absurd! MSRP is around $1500 depending on options. I don't have the action tune done on mine. Kinda want it but I'd rather keep buying more guns. I guess I wasn't paying enough attention to the Legion's that I've held and felt the trigger on. Didn't feel an appreciable difference in comparison to a 226 Extreme that we also had in stock at the same time. Haven't shot one so I don't know how they are exactly. I do have a former coworker that turned me onto CZ's that has an SP01 and a 226 Legion. I'll ask his opinion on the matter. Wish he lived closer to actually shoot them back to back but he lives in NC now.

    Sig 226 or?

My humble opinion but I honestly don't think the Legions are worth all the hype. I would much rather have a Wilson Combat 92G (which I do have and LOVE!) or a customized CZ 75 would be nice. To each, their own.
  14. Cabela's has it listed on their website. Price is MSRP (surprise, surprise) getting closer!!

    Sig 226 or?

I agree with Sig's pricing being out of line. I've had 2 W. German 226's, one of which was my very first handgun. Loved it but I paid $400 for it about 11 years ago. For the money, I would buy another CZ instead of a new Sig 226. The internet tells me that build quality and QC are the reasons why the West German ones are better. Can't have an opinion on that. The last W German stamped Sig's were produced right before my teen years. Beretta's are really nice too. Just go with what fits best in your hand and points well.
  16. Plus you have to look out for conversions of No4's. I was fortunate to find mine by a guy that inherited it and wasn't into guns. Had some rust on the butt plate and light surface rust on the barrel. Those were my bargaining chips. I pulled it apart after purchase and was pleasantly surprised after being cleaned and gone over the rust with some 0000 steel wool and oil that it cleaned up nicely. Made me glad I passed on one at the Birmingham gunshow that had the bayonet and scabbard with it. He wanted $750 for both, which to me is way high. I paid half that for the one I bought with a box of surplus ammo on stripper clips. Can't complain. He had some Garand's as well, but they sold before I spoke with him. Didn't want to ask how much he wanted for them. Probably would've made me sick.
  17. All the CZ's were sold out. Can't afford another anyway. Way too gun poor.
  18. I'm going to get in trouble if I look on that site... Must resist!
  19. I went into my LGS and they have a PPS M2 with Ameriglo sights added to it for a decent price. I'm tempted to get it, but I kinda wanted another G43. Honestly can't make up my mind on it. I figured the trigger would be different than my PPQ but, it didn't seem to have the same quick reset that my PPQ has. I was hoping to have a similar trigger. Wanted my cake and be able to eat it.
  20. I don't have any of the carbine Mosin's in my collection, yet. I've passed on quite a few M44's due to rough condition for too much money. I plan on getting an M44 and M38 whenever a deal crosses my path. A lot of my surplus guns haven't been fired by me. Really would like to try them out but I don't have a good range near me that I'm aware of. Working 7 days a week gives me money in the bank, but no time to enjoy any of my purchases.
  21. Hmmm. I've never shot my "jungle carbine" either. I've heard it'll talk to your shoulder a little bit. Thanks for the heads up!
  22. I'm hoping for more than just 1911's. Maybe we can get back all the firearms we gave to S. Korea. I'm still in need of an M1 carbine among other US military rifles in my collection. I just wish I had my Great Grandfather's 1911 from WW1. Unfortunately, it was destroyed in a fire about 10 years ago at my Uncle's farm while he was deployed. This administration will be our best bet and it's still early plus he has a lot on his plate as it is.
  23. Had to dig for it but mine is a 1953. No rust and the wood looks about the same. Never have fired it... need to change that.
  24. Very awesome!! Looks like the big brother to my CETME L from HMG.
  25. I like it!! I'm going to have to list a gun or 2 on here shortly myself. Picked up a really expensive rifle since I missed out on the SP1 that was listed a few weeks ago. That hurt to miss out on.
