Y’all are making me skeered. This doesn’t sound like much of a good time.

I’m still trying to figure out which version of a fedora would look right on my ugly head. But, I do want a good felt version, hopefully soon.

I know what ya mean. BIG difference between the two. Absolutely IMMEASURABLE difference between cheap, easy women who are expensive (use their bodies for financial gain) and a real woman who is truly priceless. My dry humor in this case is meant to make a mockery of such cheap/expensive/high maintenance women. A real woman on the other hand is a treasure, and becoming more and more of a rarity it seems.

YEZZIR! You speak the truth!
-
Are y’all saying she looks expensive? Because to me, she looks expensive.

She looks like she’s thinking “And jus’ why ain’t you cuddlin’ with me?”

Malinois have been described as a smaller german shepherd on crack. Pretty accurate. I’ve been very impressed by the ones I’ve been around though. People are right about these breeds though. I have a german shepherd, or maybe he owns me, and it is a full time job. But I have never had a better friend. It’s a shame that we live in an age, and in a formerly free country, where insurance companies tell us what we can and cannot have. I’m sure the one you picked out will be a fine companion. I like how one lady said it when I was at the vet the other day. We were talking about different dogs and she said that we (as people) just don’t deserve dogs. That’s about as accurate a statement as I’ve heard in a long time.

Whoooweee! Possum grillin at MacGyver’s!

First thing to do is find out who the man is that’s collecting 100% wolf piss and put him on your “nobody to mess with - ever” list. Then maybe go and learn the ways of such a guru so you can train the rest of us to be bona-fide mountain men I had the same problem about three weeks ago. Hen laid in the middle of the pen, body intact, head and neck still attached, but all the meat licked clean down to the spine up to what was left of the head. Two people suggested weasel or mink right off the bat, but I’ve had two more say coon was the culprit I’ve caught three possums so far, but haven’t caught whatever murderous fiend this was. It has circumvented two traps so far.

Saw the title and thought, well, I’ve never dated in any of those categories except for maybe the prehistoric category, but I’d prefer not to talk about that.

Dang, there's BEARly any room in that tree.

My neighbor breeds golden retrievers. Before his wife passed away she stayed in bad health for quite a while. I remember her telling me about one of her dogs helping her out in that regard just out of instinct. I’ve always thought that dogs are much more intelligent and intuitive than we give them credit for. I always had Labs and Rottweilers, with a few good ole mutts scattered in. I have a Shepherd now. I can tell you I am absolutely sold, so I don’t think you could go wrong there, especially with that one you have picked out. They’re known for extreme loyalty. I’m no expert of course (not even all that knowledgeable), but I would guess that most of the stout large breed dogs with strong family instinct might be a good fit for your intended role.

I of course have to open carry at work. But when I’m off it’s always concealed. My personal preference is that I don’t want to have all my cards showing. I am seeing a little more open carry in my area. I do occasionally engage people in a conversation when I see it, but it’s normally about whatever interesting gun they’re packing at the time. I’ve met some good people that way.

Man, people have really jumped in headfirst to help. It’s been absolutely amazing to me, and humbling, to see people from far and wide coming to help these people.

I worked over there Monday and Tuesday. Going back tomorrow. So many hurting souls.

It’s because he was a strong voice for conservative values. I told my wife yesterday that the leftists will have a large and festive time with this. Hopefully he’s resting in the arms of the Lord now.

I’d never partake in a thread drift. Speaking of that, have you seen the price of eggs lately?

Yeah there ya go! That Hog Hunter fits my vision of a perfect general “do-all” rifle for a man to have. I always loved the look of a bolt rifle with a scope and old fashioned irons. Here’s where I confess to the fact that a CZ 550 FS .308 or a Ruger RSI .308 are my dream guns. Nice porker in the other picture too. Looks tasty.

Yeah I’ve been wanting to look into the Primary Arms scope. I hear they’re good stuff. I need to add a couple scopes to the stable anyway.
-
Not so dumb of a statement at all, and I get where you’re coming from. I’ve never had to remove a scope either......well there was that one time when a rifle came with a cheap scope on it and it failed......and I smashed it right there. But other than that, I’ve never had a good quality scope fail me and likely never will. This is a short, light, handy, general purpose rifle that I’m putting a Leupold scope on. I know I’ll likely never need to remove the scope. So I’m aware that there’s no need whatsoever for what I’m doing. But, do you ever just do something, knowing there’s no realistic need for it, but you still just want to? Probably the same reason I ride motorcycles I guess.

Awww shucks. That’s a beauty right there. I’m having serious thoughts lately about trying to trade my Street Glide Special on a Heritage or Fatboy or Road King. But my dream is a Softail Deluxe. I just want to go back to that style of scoot. I like the old fashioned style.

Welllll.............???? Any luck?

(Posted this earlier in the Longuns section, but then thought I should’ve posted it here.) Just traded into a Ruger Gunsite Scout. Wound up with the 16” barrel, composite stock model. Really wanted to find the 18” barrel version, but I didn’t. I didn’t want this for the whole “scout” concept with the forward mounted scope, just my version of the concept being a light (ish) handy rifle in .308 with iron sights. I plan to mount my Leupold 4x on the receiver in low QD rings. I also want to have a peep sight in place instead of having to carry the Ruger sight around with me. I may wind up with the XS scout rail since it has its own peep sight, and it’s the only option I know of. But I really don’t want or need that much real estate on top since I’ll never mount anything but a traditional scope. Are there any shorter options out there for a “Ruger-to-Weaver” type rail with a rear peep sight, other than the XS system?
