  1. I'm going to be completely honest here.  I love it when TGO members, especially those from Tennessee, go take a solid class from solid instructors and learn valuable skills in the process.  Lord knows there are more than enough "bad" instructors out there who have no business teaching, and are instilling bad habits and useless tactics into their students.   BUT.   I am honestly getting pretty tired of folks signing up on TGO just to give an AAR for a school that was invited to help sponsor TGO and thus far has not partnered with us in any way.  I can only surmise that the school realizes the benefit that comes with promoting oneself on social media outlets, especially one that dominates the Tennessee firearms landscape the way that TGO does.  But why then the "guerrilla advertising" instead of just supporting an outlet that could easily direct a healthy amount of business their way?   So the Staff and I are left with a dilemma.  We detest censorship but we also detest people co-opting the popularity and impact that TGO possesses rather than partnering with us in a healthy, mutually beneficial relationship.   To that end, I'm seriously about to start locking down these threads when they diverge from being an AAR by long-time members and become propaganda from folks who just signed up to tell us how awesome the class was.  We know it's awesome.  We'd love to see them support TGO.   Now, I know that the OP of this thread has been here since 2014 and isn't exactly new, despite the low post-count, but I'm also seeing new folks from other states consistently in these type of threads.  See my point?
  2. Love mine.  Small, reliable, accurate, good trigger, very concealable, perfect for pocket carry.
  3. Honestly I think Abraham is the one who bought it.  *shrug*
  4. Had a really good time meeting folks today.  BIG thanks to David Cooper and the rest of the crew at Everything Weapons for hosting us and providing much-needed coffee!   Several folks in attendance asked that we try to do some more of these, so we will definitely be doing that.   Everything Weapons has some ideas for future gatherings at their locations, and several folks also asked about reviving the Meet n' Greet n' Shoot events that we used to have at CHMR.   I'll check on that too.   Hope you all had fun!   Oh, and thanks for the challenge coin, DustBuster!  It's funny, I think you and I have some similar interests.  In fact, you'll find me later today on top of a 24' ladder hanging a new ACTi 5MP PoE dome.  :)
  5. Welcome to TGO!
  6.   I don't have any of that on hand.  "Swag" is expensive to keep around.  I will have some of the TGO stickers but that's about it.
  7. I was actually rather glad to see Denise take an arrow through the  melon.  She was a spaz and would have gotten the rest killed.  Eugene is on my list too;  he's baggage, so far.  I was sad to see that the bullet only grazed him.
  8. Unless the Vendor is irrefutably guilty of unethical or illegal business practices and that information has been shared with the TGO Staff first and we believe that there is legitimate cause for concern to protect the members at large, I honestly don't want to hear a bunch of complaints about the Vendor no matter who they are.   If you're in business, you are going to piss off someone or hurt someone's feelings sooner or later.  You might not get to a customer in your store fast enough to suit them.  You might not provide the sort of discount or price that suits them.  You might not provide the sort of "customer service experience" that suits them.  They might just not like the way you look, smell, talk, or dress.  Someone, somewhere, is going to get a stick up their butt about you and then use the Internet to malign you because they think that they have a right to do it.   If a consumer has an individual beef with a Vendor, they should take it up with that Vendor in person.  If they don't have to guts to do that, then I don't want them using TGO as their emotional dumping ground.   Just my thoughts on that matter.
  9. Best recommendation I can give on air pressure is to do a chalk test on your tread.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojGsavK0Uwc
  10. I have run all makes and models of all terrain and mud terrain tires over the past 20 years.  Presently I am running Cooper ST Maxx tires on my truck and have had a really good experience with them.  They are slightly more aggressive than an AT but not near as much so as an MT.
  11. Saturday, April 2, 2016 8:00AM (1 Hour Early Open) - 10:00AM   Everything Weapons 7061 Moores Lane, Suite B Brentwood TN 37027       David Cooper and the gang at Everything Weapons will be hosting a TGO Meet n' Greet at their retail store on Moores Lane in Brentwood Tennessee the morning of Saturday, April 2, 2016.  David and his crew will be opening the store 1-hour early for TGO members to come in, socialize, have coffee and donuts, and have a private showing of the various firearms and gear on hand at EW.  David also tells me they will be running some special deals for TGO members that morning too!   Come on out and meet some of your fellow TGO'ers!   If you can attend, please say so in this thread so that we can get a rough head-count for adequate coffee and donuts.  :D
  12. Dangit... I submitted for a vanity plate last month and pick it up next week.  I really wish I'd known about this before.
  13.   If we're going to split hairs and complain about the things we can do, handgun carry permits alone are discrimination.  If you have one, you can.  If you don't, you can't.
  14. We used to have a "neighborhood deer" that thought she was a dog and would play with the kids.  Sadly she disappeared earlier this year.
  15. Welcome!   Inked and proud here.  :D
  16.   Eh... no.   :)   I like the Barrett rifle as much as anyone else, I suppose, but this whole thing seems kind of silly to me.  The Barrett family are good folks and I admire the entrepreneurial spirit that brought forth this iconic rifle, but at the same time part of me wonders how many tax dollars were consumed in man-hours alone to make this the "Official Rifle of Tennessee" and what other things could have better been accomplished with those same resources.
  17. I've got to be honest... as a father of three, one of whom is half the victim's age, I am having a really hard time with this.  I am having a terribly difficult time rectifying the base instinct I have to just say "Kill every damn last one of them" against the thin vapor of supposed moral superiority that Western culture tries so hard to smother us in that says "They aren't all murderers".   Right now, the basal instincts are winning, hard core.  I want to keep my kids home, behind locked doors, where I can protect them.  All the time.  I want to destroy the group of people that spawned this unholy monster.  I want it to be impossible for any of them to ever rise up again against us.  But none of this would bring back the child whose life was lost.  None of that would ease the pain those parents are feeling.   Sooner or later this is showing up in our streets, in our towns, in our cities.  They know the thing that we value most as a society is our children, and that's where they will hit us.  But we continue to usher them in because we feel safe in our moral superiority.   God help us.
  18. Very nice!  That's a once, maybe twice, in a lifetime opportunity.
  19. I think it leaves your spare mag dangling wildly about beneath your handgun which makes it a moving target for you to try and grasp and properly index with your weak-hand in a mag change. There's a reason why most savvy shooters keep their spare mag in exactly the same spot on their belt every time they carry, with the front of the mag facing toward the front of their body, so that they can grab it, index it, and correctly insert it into the firearm in one very quick motion relying entirely on muscle memory. It's repeatable, every time. What you created is an Ammo Piñata. Maybe you'll catch it, maybe you won't. :)
  20. Hey guys... no harm in asking!   We are still moving forward.  I had one prototype made and it frankly looked horrible.  The engraving service was proving hard to work with so I abandoned them and have started working with another.   Hope to have word this week!  :)
  21.   If you aren't already, you are going to have to get plugged into a network of folks who rescue dogs.  You can't save them all; others will have to participate.   And I'm sure your Dutch Shepherd friend would probably echo this... sooner or later you're also probably going to have to narrow in on a breed.  It's far easier to place dogs with the right homes if you focus on one breed, their traits, needs, etc. and become known as a go-to person for that.   Right now ... and I'm being completely honest ... I am afraid you are on the road to becoming the owner of a lot of random dogs.   :)
  22.   We'll be here.  I never want TGO to be the reason why someone didn't have heat, hot water, food on the table, gas in their gas tank, etc.  I appreciate your desire to help, but please take care of the main things first.  :)
  23. Welcome.
  24.   Are you saying that the owners of your local gun shops don't work hard for their money?  Does the $20-40 you might save by buying online make as much of a difference in your life as it might in the difference of a small business owner's success or failure?   Just things to think about.
