  1. This guy is facing 35 years in prison for $9000.
  2. I probably take it, depending on what my Doctor and the medical professionals say about it. If there are problems with it, they may not arise for months, or even years. I’m not waiting that long. My only concern would be that if I take the first vaccine, and a “better” vaccine becomes available, would I be able to take it. I retired so I could travel and do things. I’m just sitting at home. So I’ll be a test dummy for you guys.
  3. We don’t need to chart GDP. Ask anyone here what their 401K or IRA did during the Obama years vs. what it did during the Trump administration prior to Covid. Mine hit home runs the likes of which I have never seen. Was it Trump or was it Edward Jones? I don’t know; so I whole heartedly thanked them both.
  4. Why the hate for Corporations? They employ the average worker trying to maintain a family just the same as the small businesses do. The top 10 large corporation in Tennessee employ over a million workers. Everyday hourly workers. Coming from a manufacturing background I just don’t get this “destroy the rich” mentality. Do people not understand that those people and businesses create jobs? As far as poor people go, when you shut off the income of almost anyone; they will be "poor". Nancy Pelosi and her Democrats refused to help them.
  5. I wouldn’t think they would have any takers?? Would someone that has illegally owned an NFA item for years now want to register it when there is a good possibility it will be the target of anti-gun legislation??
  6. Oh, I’m set for all the standard SHTF calibers, as long as I don’t shoot a lot. But I added two calibers on a whim and didn’t get the ammo quick enough. Luckily the .45 Colt is a convertible and I can shoot .45ACP, and the 10MM will shoot .40S&W; I have plenty of both of those. I don’t want to not shoot to conserve ammo, but I think this Covid/Riot/Biden shortage may last longer than the previous ones. But as I said before; I hope I’m wrong.
  7. Things are crazy. I can’t even find .45 Colt or 10MM that aren’t crazy prices. I can understand 10MM, but .45 Colt?? I keep telling myself we will be okay. But I’m not sure I believe myself.
  8. I have three Fenix PD35’s 1000 Lumens, and a Streamlight ProTac HL 5-X USB 3500 lumens. All use 18650 rechargeable batteries. I use the PD35’s all the time, I have one on me and the others laying around. I charge them every couple on months and have never had one go dead. The Streamlight rarely get used unless I need to light up my whole yard, so I haven’t charged it as much. Two months ago I went on a camping trip and charged them all. The Streamlight was dead, but I didn’t think much about it because it hadn’t been charged in probably three or four months. Yesterday I went to use it and it was dead again, hadn’t hardly been used in two months. I put the batteries on the charger and they showed 60-80%. I thought the light might be faulty, but I charged them overnight and it worked fine when I put them back in. So I wonder what’s going on? Could it be that with 3500 lumens it requires nearly a full charge to even light the light? Or could the light be defective?
  9. I assume you are talking about a stainless gun that doesn’t have any finish or coating on it. One of the reasons I love stainless guns is that you can file, sand, Scotch Brite, polish; depending on what it needs. If you have marks into the stainless, you need to smooth the whole area out before you start polishing. How you do that depends on how deep the marks are. The polish won’t blend, it will only polish. So you need to get the surface smooth before polishing. I’ve used both Mothers Mag wheel polish and Happich Simichrome; both work great. I put it on a tooth brush first for removing carbon build-up on the face of the cylinder, (of course you won’t have that problem on a semi, but might in other areas) then use it on soft cotton gun cleaning patches for finishing and the rest of the gun. Doing a whole gun takes time. Don’t get in a hurry.
  10. Wayne, thanks again for the information on these. I ordered two of them to try them out, and they showed up today. A little finagling, but not bad, to get one on my AR-10 with a scope but slid right over my scoped Model 70. they aren’t treated with anything but are a soft breathable polyester. I bought them for protection, not rust prevention, so they do the job, and they are big. I’ll be getting more of these.
  11. Or "his desk" isn't in the oval office.
  12. Yes....we should. Where are the pics of this journey?
  13. I know they won’t. But I can honestly say that when Trump was elected and my Trump friends were whining about what Obama did, my view was, Obama is irrelevant, he’s gone, its now up to Trump. Trump took the ball and ran with it. Our economy flourished, I saw % rates in my investments I had never seen, Businesses got taxes breaks that allowed buying equipment and adding jobs, unemployment went to lowest rates ever, and companies started moving back here. Then Covid hit and the left couldn’t do anything but blame that on Trump; so be it. Even though Trump has handed the blueprint to Biden; I doubt he is capable of doing anything with that information. If I’m not mistaken he said one of his first acts will be to repeal the tax cuts. We shall see what happens.
  14. All we have heard in the last months is the mindless babble about how Covid, mask mandates, failure to shut down, and the economy was Trumps fault. On January 20th, Covid, and the economy belong to Biden. We will see how he handles it, but whatever he does; he owns it. Fair enough?
  15. I wear a mask any time I go out in public. Am I convinced it helps protect me or anyone from me? No. But it costs me nothing and is no inconvenience, other than when it fogs up my glasses, so I use it. I don’t have a problem with that. I have a problem with the government destroying lives, families, and businesses for political gain, when we don’t have the facts. I don't need a subject matter expert to know shutting down the economy is killing people and impacting families.
  16. I know that wasn’t directed at me, but sure, if you google it there are plenty of Doctors taking pay cuts, and plenty of Doctors taking leave. But my point is simply that I, like most of us is trying to determine the real risk of this. I do not doubt even a little bit that Covid is killing people, and it can kill me. But turning off the economy is killing people also. So my question is… Is the data real? If health care facilities or states are getting federal aid; good. If they are getting it based on the number of deaths; everyone will be a Covid death and we have no way of knowing what the real risk is. The information I tried to find was total monthly deaths from all causes in Tennessee for 2019 and the same months in 2020. If 30 people a day are dying of Covid in the state, the numbers should reflect that. If the numbers don’t reflect that, the only logical conclusion is that everything now is being called a Covid death. I don’t know if that’s happening or not. We have all heard the internet stories of fatalities in vehicle crashes being labeled “Covid”. Are those rare, isolated cases? A cold can kill a 90 or 100-year-old person. Are they actually tested and positive for Covid? I’m not making an argument either way, other than to say shutting the economy down is deadly and should not be done without irrefutable facts. This ain’t rocket science. If the elderly deaths are being labeled Covid just because they were in respiratory failure, without a positive Covid test; we’re being lied to. We are used to the manipulation of data here. We do it, the anti-gunners do it. It’s all about what you want the data to show.
  17. Ha, ha, ha of course, it would have zero impact on the numbers of babies born. It could have great impact with whatever you were trying to show with the testing data. If hospitals or states were getting money based on how many pregnancies they handled; you would probably show men having babies.
  18. I’d be curious to see the weekly or monthly death rate from all causes now vs. the same time frame last year.
  19. We have a Fox that runs around our neighborhood (in the city) like he owns the place. Been around for a few months. Sets off my cameras every once in a while, stops traffic walking across the street, and openly runs around in the day time. When I first saw him I was concerned he may be rabid. But I don’t think an animal can have rabies and live for months?? He definitely isn’t bothered by people or cars. Cars will probably be his downfall.
  20. I found this info interesting in a news story about the Governor of Illinois considering another shut-down of the state. 27 people died last Friday. Over 100: 1 90's: 9 80's: 4 70's: 9 60's: 3 50's: 0 40's: 1 Under 40: 0 What the story doesn’t tell us is how many of those people were already in assisted living or care facilities that would have likely been unaffected by a state shut-down.
  21. Dang man, I just realized that means DPMS is out of business. My DPMS 308 Recon LR-GII is my favorite AR. PSA already makes their own (as I understand it) PA-10 rifles. So DPMS may be gone also.
  22. Of course they make an OR model after I added a 2.0 Compact. And, they left us 40 guys out….again.
  23. Does that mean they are sending folks elsewhere?
