  1. No, but Memphis gangsters don’t live there.
  2. If long gun carry is passed, do you think shame and condemnation will change the behavior of Memphis gangbangers who will inevitably start flaunting their AKs everywhere they go?
  3. I think that’s why there were no charges, but the news is saying the guy was walking around with a rifle. Misinformation rules again.
  4. CZ has been a little wobbly since Colt bought them. I know a couple people who recently left the company.
  5. What's wrong with the P10? They hold their own in the competitive world and I know several people who carry a P10C.
  6. Agreed. There is a push to legalize carrying long guns, but I think it would rarely be prudent to do so. Discretion is the better part of valor, or however the saying goes.
  7. But now leftist media is melting down because they think he was walking around with an “assault weapon.” It’s not clear if he was too close to a school, but he otherwise did nothing illegal. However, he is getting more attention than those who actually shot someone and were released without bail.
  8. Anybody know more about this? The news said he was carrying a rifle, but the pics look like an AR pistol. Rifle or pistol, it looked like a lousy idea. https://wreg.com/news/local/memphis-is-a-dangerous-place-man-with-rifle-on-street-tells-police/
  9. Dr. Pepper cans don’t stand a chance against my daughter and her Daisy 880.
  10. This. I trust my Dillon 550-loaded pistol ammo more than just about any factory ammo nowadays.
  11. I haven't seen .20/round 9mm that I would put in my gun. A friend told me that Academy had Blazer brass for .24 each yesterday. That is about as good as I've seen. I've been through these cycles several times now. Components are cheap>people get complacent and say reloading isn't worthwhile>Democrats win/covid hits etc>people freak out>ammo disappears>I handload for .10/round>people want to get into reloading. Back in 2018 or 2019 when primers were $22/1k, people on this site were telling me reloading isn't worthwhile. The same people were scrounging for ammo in 2020/2021 and probably standing in line at Academy every Thursday morning. I can still load pistol ammo for less than half what it costs if I use components I bought when they told me I was wasting time and money. With components bought today, it's still worthwhile. If nothing else, it's there when the next run starts and I don't have to hunt up and down hoping to find some.
  12. I don't think I've ever handled a Staccato, but if they are using the same grips STI did, there is room on the sides to remove material and thin them down. Extreme Shooters https://extremeshooters.com sells slimmed-down grips or works on grips provided by customers. I have one of theirs on an STI 2011 and it was worth it. Not that long ago, you could buy a complete Extreme-treated grip for under $200, but their prices have gone up (like everything else). I'm not sure if Extreme removes material from the back of the grip like you mentioned, but if there's material that can be removed, they have mastered it.
  13. I think the more important question is whether or not the Hellcat can fire out of battery. Anybody know for sure?
  14. Holy smokes, a trip down memory lane. The first car I remember is our 1970?? 2 door army green Coronet. My not-so-fondest memory of it was when my dad slammed the hood on my fingers (I was maybe four years old and he didn't realize I was standing next to him on my toes trying to see what he was doing under the hood). GLWS
  15. They don’t make them like they used to. I think half the kids in Memphis went to him. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/commercialappeal/name/charles-housholder-obituary?id=12395437
  16. I probably had what would later be diagnosed as ADHD. This was in the late 70s/early 80s. My mother asked my doctor about it once and his response was, “All he needs is 10 acres and a 10 foot fence.” Fortunately, she got the point.
  17. I found Fiocchi small pistol primers for $89/1500 at Sportsman’s Warehouse. I haven’t seen .06 each since 2020.
  18. Miculek is the man.
  19. They are bulky, but Federals are my favorite. They seat the easiest when loading and they are the softest - nobody gets light strikes with Federal.
  20. I meant if I lived fairly close and I were a handloader, I would get a stack. $70/thousand may not make tons of financial sense to some, but between two wars, an upcoming election, and a less than 2A friendly administration, I don't get a warm and fuzzy feeling about the near future price/availability of ammo and components. A big pile of Federal primers will not lose value and is more versatile than an equivalent dollar amount of store bought ammo.
  21. There are no bargains any more, but if he had Federal SP for $70/k or so, I would pick up a stack.
