  1. Do you guys check the head space on your builds I have read mixed things. I want to make sure I do this right. Have pricing go/ no go gauges.
  2. Sleuths press with Hornady one shot gun cleaner and lube. I use it I. My damp basement and no problems. It will not harm your primers or powder it is a dry lube.
  3. I already have a M&P 15 in 5.56 just wanting a pistol version and decided to go with 300 black out for the muzzle blast. Eventually I will also build a rifle because lets face it it you can’t own to many ARs. May do a rifle in 6.8 spe as well one day.
  4. What about Rise Armament triggers anyone used them?
  5. Have you tried any factor JHP or FMJ to see how they feed just for comparison?
  6. Next purchase will be a 1911’and currently building a AR pistol. Besides that I guess a G19.
  7. The only mag I have had trouble with is a MFT AR mag. It still feeds just fine but if you shake the mag or squeeze it the rounds will shoot out of it. What’s crazy it still works I got to the range and had some loose rounds in my bag. I did not think too much of it until I got home and loaded all my mags back up. Looks like the feed lips are too far apart when compared to a different mag. I have several MFT AR mags and this is the only one like that.
  8. I have one 308 that with hand loads and a 168 grain match bullet will shoot around 3/4 in when I do my part. The rifle is a package gun with a wood stock and a 3x9 vortex scope on it.
  9. Not sure how that happened started a new topic
  10. Well we got a call from a lady my in laws go to church with wanting us to adopt her grand kids. Ages 2 and 3 both boys. We are excited they have been in DCS custody in Florida for just over a year and the parents have a history of domestic violence and are meth addicts. We are going to call some family lawyer next week to start the paperwork. What’s crazy is the grandmother cane to us about this we have not pursued it other than talking about adoption. Hopefully know more in a few days.
  11. I did not have to specify when I did the paperwork. The guy at the shop told me I can build a rifle and the change it to a pistol but not a pistol to a rifle
  12. Anyone have any experience with Faxon or Bear Creek Barrels? Seem to be priced reasonably or any other suggestions for a barrel
  13. Thanks that’s a useful.still have to get a few tools for the job.
  14. Just bought an Areo precision stripped lower on sale for 49.99 could not pass it up. I have been wanting to build one for a while. Undecided on weather to build a pistol or rifle. If I do a pistol I will probably build it in 300 blackout due to muzzle blast. Any one have a suggestion on a good book about building ARs? What about thoughts on pistol vs rifle?
  15. I have some range pick up 7.62x51 brass I picked up. I have a good load for my 308 brass using Reloader 15. I know 762 brass is sometimes thicker and less capacity. Will it be enough to cause a problem or should I back up my powder charge when using 7.62 brass? I have read both ways.
  16. Hard to beat a 308. Accurate, versatile, not bad recoil, huge verity of loads. Check the Rugar american, Savage axis, Mossberg patriot ( I have the patriot in 308). Should be able to find a package deal for under $500 and mine is a wood stock.
  17. No bulge and I am using a lee factory crimp did. I loaded 200 rounds last night with accurate no5. All but 1 plunked and it appeared to be a fat bullet. I try the unique again this weekend thanks everyone.
  18. Shooting from a G19 gen 4, G43X and a S&W SD9VE. Have not tried the in S&W yet. I wit give it a try again with 4 grains. I know unique is an old powder but seem like it works well from my reading.
  19. I have some 125 grain Gallent coated bullets I want to load with unique. The only cast data I have with 124/125 grain cast bullets is with Speer #15 data. It shows 125 cast with 4.1-4.5 grains of unique at 1.13 COL. 1.13 wont plunk I loaded 1.10 at 4.2 grain and the slide didn’t lock open. Should I try this load again or bump up to 4.2-4.4?. Just want to make sure I was not riding the slide lock. Any suggestions? Still fairly new to this.
  20. That great news! Hopefully he will remain positive and keep moving forward. We will keep praying
  21. I like the M&P 2.0 compact and the Glock 19 I also like the Sig 320 compact. Our local Ruel King has the M&P for $439.
  22. We have a family friend who’s son had the exact same thing happened a couple years ago. He was also in Vandy burn unit they are the best. He is doing fine now. His burns were on his side and back.
