My Wife is excited about what she got me for Christmas

I watched The Last Kingdom. That led me to Eivor. Fantastic imho! Which led me to the entire genre of Celtic throat singing. I generally turn on Spotify on my TV in the mornings (to distract the demons in my brain) and apparently their AI decided to generate quite a few interesting playlists for me. I have no complaints. Heilung is among the lists. I've never been to Red Rock. I think it would be pretty remarkable. I've seen several concerts in the Hammersmith Oden in the mid to late '70's, now called the Apollo. -
Thank you Scotty!

Merry Christmas to all!

Vermin and a pestilence @tercel89. Be safe. Prayers continue for all. Merry Christmas nonetheless.

SEVERAL Times @TripleGGG! I always preferred pushing a pickup truck off because I could climb "up" into it vs jumping down into an old Chevy. Safer LOL And builds character

While I laughed this is one true statement! I know it motivated the heck outta me.

I joined in 2009 as well @Lumber_Jack. There's been a lot of change in this world since then my friend, And in "the blink of an eye". My appreciation to @TGO David and the mods for their amazing ability to "herd cats" and keep this place up and running. And to the members for the information exchange and conversation. Most of the conversation is civil. Thanks TGO!

I'm with you Sir. On many levels. And I too lost my Bride just a bit over 2 years ago. It's a profound experience that simple words can't express. She and I both came to the same conclusion several years ago. The commercialization of Christmas creates a frenzied madness in some people and avoidance and disengagement from them was our strategy and remains mine. There's simply no need to expose yourself to such shenanigans. WE always gave to those we love (money not obligatory junk) and those we could help with no expectations or desire for such. So I guess I too will proudly proclaim "I'm a Grooge!" But I'm still gonna watch Die Hard after the family goes home. And Thank the Good Lord for his many Blessings.

I too watched "Nobody" with Bob Odenkirk . Wow! I had no idea he could portray such a BadA$$! Very well done and entertaining movie. Thank you @NoBanStan! I would love to see a thread such as this. But I wouldn't want to drift @Links2k thread without his blessing. But I really appreciate the input and suggestions. -

I watched War Horse One last night. A good degree of suspension of disbelief is required but I was definitely entertained. I would love to have one of those endless magazine vests too! But doubt I could lug it around LOL. I enjoyed it and appreciate the recommendation. Thank you. -
This is my first attempt at a Christmas avatar. Hope it's not already in use... I prefer appendix carry...

This is a sad truth unfortunately. My preference is to simply have a meal and conversation. Then family goes home. I say a Prayer and Thank the Good Lord for another day. Then I sit back and watch traditional Christmas movies like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, and A Christmas Story. Already have my Christmas day planned out.

Yeah I had issues after the last software change, or one of them. All of my photos, IF they loaded, loaded sideways. And I did delete a lot of cached forum photos I had. I just created an IMGUR account and used that to upload pics from my computer and post my pics using the "BB and Forums" copy and paste link they provide. I'm a technotard but was able to manage the IMGUR. It works well for me so far. I'm certain more technologically savvy individuals than I can offer other suggestions.

I guess it depends on your planned use for this round. I agree, it's and interesting round conceptually. Shot to shot times coupled with user accuracy are essential for self defense rounds/guns. I think the Air Marshall service used it at one time. IMHO ALL handgun rounds are anemic as relates to self defense. So rapid repeatable accuracy rules. Again, just an observation and opinion. There's quality 9mm, 40 S&W, and 45acp factory rounds that are doing quite well for that purpose. And are less expensive and more readily available commercially. Heck...even quality .380 ammo is evolving. I handload (reload or whatever) and find bottle neck cartridges a PIA to reload (100% agree with @ken_mays). 97-98% of the ammo I shoot are handloads, so that consideration is important to me. It's a fine cartridge and there are some fine guns made for it. I have nothing against it in any way if that's a person's choice. I've not treated a patient shot with this particular round so I can't speak to that. Pretty much every other round, just not this. I guess it depends on you purpose and your "wants"/needs. I don't think it's a dead caliber but it might be nearing the "Critical List". But these things cycle back and forth over time. But then I'm an opinionated old curmudgeon and mostly shoot 9mm, .38 spl, and the .32 "family" rounds and carry the same. Always interested in others thoughts and experiences.

Welcome aboard! I am in no way surprised you've had positive experiences here. I agree, a great group of folks... kinda quirky sometimes All kidding aside. Great group of folks and a good resource.

Sadly, luckily, I don't know. But that's pretty much the going rate on a good deal these days. Thanks for linking it @Scotty

What rig & accoutrements would you recommend?
Jamie Jackson replied to GGALLIN's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Let me see if I can upload a pic. Please excuse the mess, I've been handloading a good bit lately. The Dillon was purchased around '89 or so. Been factory refurbished once. Love me some Dillon! But I'm really glad I started on a single stage to learn the process. The Lee has the quick change bushings which really aid in changing tasks and seem to hold their measurements true. Major improvement over my original 1980's version. -
These are excellent value knives. I have several but at this price ordered more as gifts. Thank you!

Jamie Jackson replied to GGALLIN's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I second the Reloading Manual. I read a Hornady manual back in the '80's and started my journey from there. And on a Lee single stage press. I finally wore out the original Lee and replaced with a more modern version 2 years ago. I have a Dillon 550 (since 1990) and it is solely dedicated to 9mm, historically the round I shoot the most. But I've been loading and shooting a good bit of .38 spl and .32 S&W Long/ .32 H&R mag the past couple of years. Around 3500-4000 rounds/year, all loaded on the Lee. You can certainly spend more, and I have no doubt there are better quality presses, but I find Lee to be a true value in presses. Just my $0.02 worth. But please read a manual first if you haven't already. And like Greg said, if you'll share , at least, your geographic region...you know, East-West-Middle TN, there's probably someone that would offer to help if needed. -
Welcome!
