  1. Welcome, you found the best place in TN to ask gun questions. Most of the folks I know use Triune Saddle /Gun Shop just a short hop from Franklin for transfers other than that the only thing you have to look out for is the  Punctuation Police Person on this site as you will only receive on warning from him!! , and it will cause nonstop snorting your soda out your nose.
  2. Revolver is still the best house/car gun as you can leave them loaded and not touch them for four years with no worry of the mag spring going weak. I have  seen the best auto ever made (Glock) fire entire fifteen round mag after a year loaded, but I would not take that chance and load new mag every few months.
  3. Do like the old duffers do,borrow a wheelchair and tie off about nine long guns on it.
  4. Lost two pistols in a Cheatham CO break in about 1995 before I owned a safe, one recovered a year later from a Nashville crack house raid. About six months and eight trips to Court,DA,Attorney,PD I got it back. I have several friends with stolen guns go to next local gun show and recover some traded on floor. One got back 7 of 8 at a Nashville Goodman Show and the were on third owner in a week and were able to go back to original thief. They rolled it with a bunch of other arrests and he go a whopping six mo probation. Show in Boro this weekend and they may let you sit with gun checker at front door.
  5. Well if previous CMP (DCM) used to ship them to your home for $17.50  it may run $20-$25 now. DCM pre 1968 pulled the nice ones out of Army stock and you were allowed one in a lifetime,i still run across them now and then in box with paperwork. They only bring about half of one that was not run through rebuild. I talked with one of the Managers at CMP about 12 years ago and the take everything offered to them and have a warehouse full of Thompsons,M14's The 1911's with almost no chance of ever selling to public, but they will not let then get chopped. Most or all of the Carbines@Garands have been returned to CMP with not many out there.
  6. 12 ga Mil Grade Buckshot from WM  Try a box or two of the five round box before buying a large box. We had 10 rounds to test at range and we were lucky if one pellet would hit the paper plate at 20 yards and  almost as bad on larger target. Winchester&Federal would put most or all 9 rds in plate. It was fired from 870 Riot with standard cyl.bore.  Have never seen anything spread like this. This was all standard buckshot tested, the low recoil LE Buckshot will stay much tighter.
  7. WM at 100 Oaks Nashville has two shelves toda full of .308 at rollback price. Had a Debt Mgr tell me last week that Perfecta Brand never sold as it was priced about same as Federal and others and this was to blow out the brand never to stock it again. Sounds about right as when the .40&.223 was gone it was gone.
  8. Their last show was in the small flea market part of the building that had poor lighting and no air. They are moving back to the original part of the complex with better but still crappy air and lighting. As comment above it is still only decent show around.
  9. RK claims they got the original (nicer) building back.
  10. Closing on first full day of Park Carry, anyone done a google search to see if any shootouts in TN Parks?
  11. Now for a couple days of fun reading lefty comments in the Tennessean.

    My new Glock 43

Do not know why picked up my BL 43 (Austria) but my 42 (GA) was five month wait.
  13. White/Black don't matter, what it will come down to is suspect was in possession of a Taser by dragging it with him as he ran and could of used it at some point to get gun off officer. I am not saying it was right but rule of thumb if suspect has weapon they get shot. The murder charge will be dropped and riots  will start.
  14. Today& tomorrow @ Franklin Cool Springs Marriott -Lot of older guns and stuff -Hours and price on their website.
  15. You will want to check IL law it it reads like ours  NRA in Indy it was OK for permit holders to carry in Convention Center ,but not for me because at time we could not carry in our CC and TN law reads we must abide by our law when out of state, which means no carry in our CC then no carry in their CC another example is TN no carry while sitting at bar drinking, but FL IA,others it OK but we have to follow TN law when out of state. Your doing good checking out laws ahead of time to keep out of trouble. I am glad we can now carry loaded in car through IL, ISP was bad for pulling over out of staters hoping to get a chance to toss carand find a gun..
  16. Sounds like a lot, until Bloomberg drops fifty million at a time  to defeat NRA and other wealthy anti-gun people  doing the same. With 80 million gun owners in USA and only 5 million NRA members  it is more of an uphill battle than it should be.Time to pass some of the blame to gun owners who sit by and do nothing. The NRA can only do so much with their funding.
  17. Not a Glock is right. There must be a reason the 35,000 member NYPD banned Kahr as an off duty gun for officer use.  I want something that is going to work and not break parts/malfunction when you need it.
  18. If i do not like it I will dump it quick.I have the 42 and think it is the best carry gun ever made,at least for me .Same cartridge, just a little less power. I had it at Owl Hollow and the owner (Charlie) wanted to try it . I put up a target for him at fifteen yards and he shot six rounds at it and I did not want to tell him he missed the whole target, until we walked up to grab it and he had put all six through the the small black center about the size of a dime. The gun will shoot through the same hole, only wish I could.
  19. Picked up the cheap 9mm&.40 Perfecta ammo From WM after reading the thread on here how good it is. Now have plenty when I pick up my G-43 in a couple weeks and put .40 away until the G-44 comes out next year.
  20. Normally do it in Fall when shows pick up again. Rent one table and cut your cost and a few buddies usually send some stuff with me and toss in a twenty for table rent. Mark everything up 10 percent as everybody will want a "deal". If you sell or buy a gun make damm sure they have a Valid TN DL and are 18 or 21 same with ammo sales even though it is private sale, and you will also have a couple people ask if it is private because they are not able to to pass a background or are out of state. These are the Felons the ATF send in to show and they will be waiting at your house with a warrant and remove all your guns and cash. I have seen this happen to people I have been set up next to over the years. Follow all laws.  Bring a couple hundred cash in ones and fives as a lot of people will hand you a hundred, also put out a large sign saying prices are so low because cash sales only. This will prevent everybody handing you a credit card. Just the basics, have fun.
  21. Once again ,none in area then three in same weekend. Sparta always great small town show. Goodman@ fairgrounds large crappy show, but Outdoor Expo will fill the parking lot and bring in a lot of people that otherwise would not go. RK @Lebanon,small show but he does advertise heavy.  Looks like Goodman and RK are having a P"""""G Match like Pope and Rk used to do running shows same weekend.  If only area could get a couple large shows a year(good promoter, large clean building with plenty of parking, good lighting, climate controlled, within 30 miles of Nashville)
  22. A couple of ER Doctors on one of the sixty minutes type shows claimed they turned an otherwise non lethal wound into a lethal wound because the sharp edges would throw off a lot of debris making the wound untreatable in addition to things posted above.  Most LE Agency's had quit using them already because of their poor stopping power compared to other loads.
  23. Because it is only 10 minutes away and a good place to buy small gun parts  (mags, holsters, ammo) at a good price from the private vendors, otherwise it is not much of a gunshow.
  24. At Lebanon Gun Show Today  $150.00 for 150 rd box  And people buying it.    At Gander Mountain-Mt Juliet 10 min away same ammo  everyday price $89.00  stacked three foot high and nobody buying.
  25. They did have some problems, but have straightened them out. They added two full shifts to catch up on a few hundred thousand backlog thanks to Obama and they had some quality control issues. The new plant in NC is also up and running.
