I was an abused child. My mommy spanked me with THE wooden spoon. (you know ... the one that had a quarter inch round handle.) Funny thing ... along the way I learned about things like respect, integrity, honesty, humility, boundaries, personal space, hard work, morals, balance, getting along with other people ... I guess I am going to hire a lawyer and take her house away and throw her in the street. Yup ... sounds like a good idea. As for my dad, (RIP), a swift kick in the butt ... got a lot of those, that is why I am over 6 foot tall. My brother on the other hand was a good kid, all those pats on the head stunted his growth and he is only 5 foot 5 inches.

The motorcycle forum that I help moderate uses it frequently to describe male members having hissy fits and generally acting like a female that ... Drama queen is another one that comes to mind.

It is a phrase referring to people ... specifically males that have sand in their v*g*na to go to the "right" professional to seek help with their lack of humor. (high testosterone = sandy v*g*na) Something about a male in stirrups being examined by a gynecologist cracks me right up. I know that I am not normal. Life is too short and important to take little things seriously.

+10,000 Even though I was raised and schooled in the north, I had some very good teachers. The civil war was not about slavery, that was used by the media as a flash point to inflame the northern masses. If you dig deep enough, there is enough citations to point that the south had the ability to secede and be very successful with the resources it had and the north could not do without. To this day, I thank those two teachers that were critical thinkers and had no issues presenting multiple sides of an issue. It was something that I took for granted till I realized how rare it was.

It would be easier to just purchase unprimed brass that can be loaded 20 times depending on how hot they are loaded. I don't think there are any legacy military cartridges that are purely berdan primed. Some of that stuff is corrosive ammo and care needs to be taken to keep the firearm clean. A long time ago, I bought a lot of ammo from a company called Atlanta Discount Ammo and if you watched their deals on Shotgun News or the Gun List, you could get any military cartridge boxer primed. For a reloader, it was worth paying the extra dollars to get brass you could reload with commercial components. I have since learned to simplify my life by settling on 4 different calibers. My ammo stock is simple and easy to satisfy.

First LEO encounter while carrying

I played a lot of chess when I was a kid. Learned a lot about strategies that I applied later in real life situations. The opening you use determines what the end game can be like. Aggressive moves early on are easily leveraged into traps. Unlike chess however, the ultimate goal in social interaction is a win-win conclusion. Both parties have gained their objectives and leave to carry on the rest of their day. Seeking a win-lose situation in your favor at the roadside is an exercise in futility. I believe someone here had a sig that said, "Beware the fury of a patient man." That has quite a bit of significance to this thread. It is just as easy for the law abiding citizen to set up a trap for an unprofessional LEO as it is for them to record everything that is said and done during a stop. The majority of cell phones now have recording devices in them that can be activated at a push of a button. In the hands of a good attorney, you do have recourse if it gets that far. I have always treated LEO's with respect, even if they did not deserve it at the time. It has happened. I had one caught red-handed in a lie he could not support with the evidence. I went to his superior and calmly laid all the facts and evidence down and the ticket was thrown out ... did not even have to go to court. It took all of twenty minutes and I left getting what I sought. The only thing that being an a-hole at the roadside will get you is, "officer needs help" on the radio. I don't believe I have ever heard anyone but a cop win that scenario. -
It won't work, all military primers are "crimped" in to prevent them from backing out when fired in MG's. Most military rounds are also laquered for water resistance and dry lubrication properties. This can also act as an adhesive making Berden primers hard to push out. Not only do you have to remove the primer, drill the hole for the boxer type, you also have to get and use a "primer pocket swager" that will ease the re-priming process. linky .... http://www.cabelas.com/p-0018791210946a.shtml Product Descripton The Primer Pocket Swager combo ensures a perfectly round primer pocket. It removes primer crimps from military cases.

First LEO encounter while carrying

If given a lawful order ... You refuse and end up on the ground eating gravel, your troubles are just starting. While sitting in a cell dazed and confused thoroughly convinced on how right your were, make sure you call a very good attorney. By the time the dust settles and you fight the charges in a court of law, (where the fight should of started instead of the side of the road), prepare yourself for huge legal fees, confiscation of the permit you are so proud of and a criminal record. If indeed a felony, possession of firearms for life. Just so you wanted to prove you resisted what you thought was an unlawful order? Go ahead and go down swinging, the only person you are impressing is yourself. The first order of business for every cop making a stop is to control the scene. They are trained to do that with many techniques. These techniques are derived from mistakes made by other cops in the past getting killed or maimed. Being a cop is not a job I want. However, it is my job to not escalate any interaction that may occur. It is the only control that I have over the situation. If I give that away by making a stupid decision, then why should I cry about having a torn rotator cuff because 3 cops kneed me in the back, cuffing me trying to 'control' a situation that I escalated? The cop has all the power and control at the roadside. If you will not give it to them, they will take it by force. Unfortunately, if I want power and control at the courthouse, I have to pay dearly for it. If the cop really screwed up, where will it be won? Not on the road side. -

TN is an employment at will state. This is a battle that I personally would not choose to fight. Win the battle but lose the war. -
Al Gore said it, must be true.

UPS has this very nasty trick they use when they damage packages. They put it in a new crisp box and carefully peel the label off the old box and apply it to the new box. When you receive the box, it looks crisp and new so you don't open it to inspect it. The driver leaves. The next day you open the box and see the damaged package inside their new box. You call to create a claim and they deny you for one of the following two reasons: 1. You signed for the package. 2. The package was inappropriately wrapped. Now try to collect ... good luck!

Gotcha ... will try to get SWMBO her carry permit and we may make this a two-fer. Thank you. I am still stunned at finding FIVE Smyrna, TN locations. Must be a pain shipping stuff back and forth!

OK, next question ... Will this class be offered more than once?
-
OK ... would love to attend but I am thoroughly confused. We found 5 results for "Smyrna, TN" Please Select One: 1. Smyrna, TN- Rutherford County 2. Smyrna, TN- Carroll County 3. Smyrna, TN- Marshall County 4. Smyrna, TN- Pickett County 5. Smyrna, TN- Warren County Now know this is the ONLY state I have ever lived in that has this type of scenario. Where are you? Is it MapQuest making things difficult for me? Or is it the Tennesseans making themselves hard to find?

Dog Attacks Cop Car (Wait till you see the picture...)
Currently replied to TMMT's topic in General Chat
McKamey collected the animals ... there were three but one american bulldog is responsible for the chewing damage. The cop did not feel threatened by the dog ... the dog was focusing on the car ... not humans. Even after it was tazed, it did not try to attack humans. It wanted those tires and that bumper ... period. -
