  1. Well ... you could donate it to a charitible cause! Plenty of those will be popping up in a few minutes. ;D Congrats!
  2. Horses ... 4-wheeler ... motorcycle ... car ... I see lots of uses for that! Great find!
  3. That is because some goomba impressed with his "right" to open carry insisted on making his presence known at one of the branches in Chattanooga.
  4. With great power comes great responsibilty. Everyone lost in this situation.
  5. When I used to do leather work, I used these guys for leather ... Weaver Leather | Leather Manufacturing | Leather Manufacturers Fair prices and great selection. As for tools, there is only one company I ended up dealing with, they have old world craftsmanship and quality. A bit more expensive but much better than the brand-labeled chinese crap I would buy at various suppliers. http://www.csosborne.com/ Once you handle their tools, you will never go back to a bad tool again. These guys are a distributor that I used for CS Osborne: Henry Westpfal & Co 115 W 25th St New York, NY 10001 (212) 563-5990 Fax (212) 563-5068 They are renown for cutlery and scissor sharpening services. They are also a premier vendor for leather working tools. My first wife took dibs on all the leather tools we accumulated together during our marriage in our divorce. I have since replaced a few of the low cost ones but the expensive ones like the leather splitter was never replaced. I never made a gun holster, I made custom tool holsters for specialty professions. I recently got an email from a former client that told me that his holster was still in daily use that he purchased from me in 1983.
  6. They are called Winchester 9422's and came in 22LR and 22 mag. I had one and regretted selling it. When they first came out, they set a world record shooting 2.5 inch pine blocks tossed in the air with them. Very fast pointing and accurate little rifle. They come up quite often on Gunbroker.
  7. I gave up on that and bought spoons, static balancer and do it myself. Only when I am in a big hurry will I have someone do them for me. Local dealer charges 30 bucks with the wheels off the bike. It is over a hundred if they have to take the wheels off.
  8. Paid a lot for these but worth every penny. Over The Head Electronic Safety Earmuffs, Active Noise Reduction Technology | NoiseBuster PA4000 They are about 20 bucks more than the Peltor Tactical 7S model.
  9. Easy to get rid of JW's. You tell them firmly to put you on their "Do not do" list. Only time you will be bothered after that is when new or members from another congregation comes prospecting. You tell them you are on that list and they go away. Ex wife was one ... know more about them than I care to admit.
  10. Why should I? They are so convinced they are right and everyone else is wrong. So you pay out the rope ... make it long enough ... and let them hang themselves. It is so easy to do with people like that, it ain't even funny. Customer service goes a long way, I had a "decision maker" call their tech support lines pretending he had a problem. He was shaking with anger when I asked him how it went. I smiled and told him that is why I had him do it. Within the month, the provider was changed. With the other account, AT&T was being considered as a contender till 4 of us spoke up and told them about our experiences. One of those people had a horrific experience with them that does not even come close to anything mentioned here. It cost him thousands of dollars to settle with them. I am a firm believer in karma ... you reap what you sow.
  11. Tracfone here ... we just use it to communicate, not to 'enhance' our lives. Buy a thousand minutes at a time and good for most of a year. My other cell is a work phone, used 99% for work. Was AT&T and made the switch to Verizon. I can now recieve work calls at home ... wow. <eyes rolling> I got a grudge against AT&T and will never use them again. They were very unreasonable pr!cks and it ended up costing them so much more than what they made from me in our dispute. It cost them at least two corporate contracts. That was a very expensive $27 they collected from me.
  12. Amen to that ... I now look for ethanol free gas ... I will not buy any fuel that has ethanol in it even if I have to travel 50 miles to get it. There are lots of lawn mowers, weed wackers and chainsaws dying an early death because of that chit in gasoline.
  13. Not the Chi-commies ... maybe the russkies? FOXNews.com - Feds Bust 10 Alleged Russian Spies in U.S.
  14. So the badge is on a lanyard around his neck?

    Idiot Scratch

There are two schools of thought regarding material possessions ... 1. They are jewels, works of art where insane amounts of time, money and effort are expended to keep them perfect and pristine. 2. They are tools, used for a purpose and any wear or blemish is a patina reflecting its respectful usage. With the first option, the possession owns you. With the second option, you own the possession. It was a painful lesson for me to learn. Looking back, I am glad I learned it because there are things in life that are much more important than possessions. Keep seeking that perfection and slowly lose sight of what it really means to be human.
  16. With a "stupid stick" ... Not that it will do any good.
  17. I use a set of industrial "Noisebusters" that get all kinds of use such as mowing the lawn, shooting and working in noisy plants. Great long wear comfort and does a great job at killing the low frequency noises that earmuffs and plugs have a hard time attenuating. If I am going to shoot a lot, I also put foam ear plugs on. My hearing is 60% what it used to and I cannot tell you how much it impacts my daily life. Hearing aids with compression circuits go for 3+ grand a piece and only last a couple of years before you got to replace them. Good thread.
  18. It means that our country can no longer read, spell or interpret images. May God have mercy on us.
  19. And not be a target to people with more guns than you.
  20. Everything you publish on the internet is retrievable ... even if you delete it. Sometimes, walking away is the best thing. Not saying that is what you should do, there will be all kinds of costs to whatever action you undertake. Are you willing to acknowledge and pay for them?
  21. Don't even wack it with a rake ... if it pops, the liquid will spray and burn you. Just stay the heck away from it.
  22. Welcome from the neighborhood also.

I will be selling my PX4 .45 later this week. Only reason I am selling it because the safety operates reverse to the 1911. Quite the peashooter, very accurate.
  24. I don't like snapping turtles and will not go wade in any water I can't see through. Is that carp picture a photoshop? Holy Carpola!
  25. She is a good kid, more than a little stubborn, but she was well brought up. Mom (SWMBO*) deserves that credit a lot more than I do. Family is important to me. My folks did all they could to help me to where I am at. The least I can do is the same for my children. *(She Who Must Be Obeyed)
