  1. Even his domain has been suspended. H-SPHERE. Account suspended. Account for domain Voldemort.com has been suspended. Powered by H-Sphere. Oh the mighty are falling ...
  2. Why am I not surprised? I was in my thirties when I attended the university. To this day I still cannot believe the dysfunctionality and attitudes I encountered at that place. What very little liberalistic views I had at the time were totally and completely quashed and destroyed after encountering some of the most idiotic and illogical views being passed as truth and fact. Tenure is over-rated and IMHO should be abolished. Many students are influenced and graded for conformity rather than a contrarian stance against the teachings. It was sad seeing many of these kids just spout off some regurgitations from some professor as fact without looking at the entire picture and making up their own minds.
  3. The larger number of posts in the forum database impacts forum operating efficiency. Would not be surprised that their is some background pruning going on to cut down on HD space requirements. David is looking for a dedicated server to run the forum on, costs more money, will have better efficiencies and performance. As for post count, all that is a number in your user profile. On another forum where I have admin priveleges, I bumped up their post count numbers to the millions because we could not stand the post-wh0ring attitudes and penor sword clashes. It was like a persons worth was totally devoted to post count rather than content. It had the intended effect, within two weeks we had PM's from the miscreants asking us to reset their post count to "1" ! I intend to donate when the bonus check comes in to help David out.
  4. From the tour and conversation I had, the target demographic will be professional people and women. They will have a corner of the store that has chairs and reading material for women while the men talk guns. They do not want this to become a "redneck" hangout, rather it will be a professional setting that will be supported by HCP classes, NRA certified range officer and the range design has been approved by some credentialing agency ... forget which one. Interior of the store has an open concept to it with the firearms racked on a wall. Range fees will be competitively priced with local rates. I hope it turns out as planned. I don't know who bought the ammo dump, whoever did that made a poor investment on a business that was run into the ground by poor managment and lack of reinvestment.
  5. Welcome ... keep going to different ranges that have used guns for you to try out. When you get the right one in your hands, you will know immediately. It just "feels" right. The rest is practice, practice, practice.
  6. I had this "Mr. H" really expressed his interest in my PX4 Storm .45 twice and stood me up both times. Once shame on you ... twice shame on me ... third time ain't going to happen cause the price just jumped $500 bucks. AFAIC he can go pull some counter clerks pud and waste his time.
  7. When I spoke with the owner and his "marketing" person, they claim that they visited every range in the area and are designing it incorporating the good design factors versus eliminating the bad. Only thing that concerns me is the owner is on a tight budget and under a lot of pressure to get it open ... Time will tell.
  8. Stopped by today cause I finally saw some activity. Store will open tentatively March 15th. Shooting range will open in May.
  9. That is some good advice. Some people ... their elevator doesn't reach the top floor. There are times where there is nobody at your house. Your pets can be fed poison when you are not looking. Things may get broken or missing or worse. Neighbors can be good ... neighbors can feud. You got to live there ... you want to be comfortable or keep looking over your shoulder?
  10. It has been my experience that pit bulls are people friendly but hate other dogs. You can "make" a dog attack you ... are you willing to deal with the aftermath? If you take a good look in the mirror and are you willing to admit that it is not a matter or ego, irrational fear or just being mean. Dogs know when they are not on their "dirt". Unless the animal is rabid, there is no reason to shoot them "just" because they are on your property. There are plenty of other healthy and viable choices out there.
  11. No hang so far ... thanks David! Got a little bonus check coming ... will swing a little your way. Wasn't expecting any this year, glad to get one and still have a job!
  12. Can a moderator be banned for making a comment like that? That was a good one!
  13. It is not my computer, this is the only site that does it. Out of five forums that I frequent, this is the only one freezing. I know it is not the software cause four of the five I am on uses vBulletin. They have the most solid forum software out there right now. It has got to be the server that is hosting the site.
  14. Same here ... and if you click on it again, it responds that you must wait at least 10 seconds before a new search.
  15. Walking on a freshly fertilized lawn, some household cleaning supplies ... will make you into a "person of interest".
  16. Lots of holsters are finished/impregnated with a wax for finish. You may want to consider removing this before applying the dye. You will know this is true when the dye looks blotchy.
  17. For those of you that have the type of dog that just cringe and go through it, you may want to get two transmitters and put the wires ten feet apart. creating a no dog zone that is almost 20 feet wide. I am going to have to do that with my dog, she is a hunting breed and the urge to go tramping is strong.
  18. I went out a couple of months ago and bought a new pair of RedWing boots; they tend to last me a long time. I got home and was horrified to see they were made in China. I had already threw away the boxes and could not return them.
  19. I haven't been to a "good" gun show in over 10 years. Gone to maybe one every two years since then and walk out saying to myself why did I waste my time and entry fee AGAIN? It is almost like the internet made them much worse instead of more competitive. Prices are obscenely high and the dickering is a joke. There is an incredible amount of junk being sold at ridiculous prices. Today, I do my research on the net to get a feel for a price and go to a dealer or shop to buy. Or I watch for private sales. I won't support gunshows anymore
  20. I got a mountain cur, what was described by a friend of mine from Alabama. Was dropped off in the neighborhood and it adopted us after a couple of weeks of irregular meals. My cat is a calico Maine Coon that is 17 years old, another stray we adopted from a litter we found behind our home.
  21. That stuff is made in china and is really awful stuff. You have to get rid of it ... *first dibs?*
  22. Most cell phones usually have a "programmable" button and can be used to record conversation.
  23. This is exactly the point that I and a couple others have been trying to make. It is a no win situation. How much are you willing to bet the theater is posted by the end of the month? If he would of carried concealed, no second glance, no hassle, no unwanted confrontation, no posting of the theater. WIN-WIN. How many doors have to slam shut before one realizes that there is a time and place for everything?
  24. Mine only expire when the firing pin hits the primer! Is that normal? I have fired .303 British rounds that were older than my father. Keep the temp and humidity extremes away and fire away as long as you like.
