2.
I have the minimal amount taken out and pay In at the end of the year, I hate giving the government an interest free loan. looks like I qualify for the EITC this year though.
There is also the part where you pay taxes again on your refund the following year.
3. You bunch of slackers .... This was a perfect opportunity to give David some white hair! ;D
4. Went to Benton's Shooters Supply early this past week. Metal 30 round mags going at $50 each and they had cases of them. Black rifles started at $2200 all the way up to $5k for .308 version. I'm turned off by the greed.
5. Please elect this woman to a higher office .... please!
6. I drive by Benton's a couple times a month. Every once in a while I stop in hoping to see they changed. I may buy something I really need like a pistol magazine that is not stocked elsewhere. It is always overpriced but if I look at shipping it is still a bit more expensive but more convenient. I will never buy any large ticket item from them.
7. A lot of Red Wings are made in China ... my last pair was and I was more than a little upset to find out.
8. Roy Exum's column in the Chattanoogan this morning. http://chattanoogan.com/2012/11/17/238778/Roy-Exum-James-Andersons-Letter.aspx James Anderson, a gentleman of the South from Talladega, Ala., has written a list of “The 12 Reasons I Voted Democratic” and, after it appeared in the Scottsboro (Ala.) Daily Sentinel last Saturday, it was sent to me by a dear friend who has the same leanings. It is with devilish delight I pass it along for your perusal. Mr. Anderson could not be contacted for additional comments yesterday but I believe his comments alone will sufficiently entertain you as we await the kickoff of today’s college football games: * * * Dear Editor: Here are the 12 reasons I voted Democratic: 1. I voted Democratic because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I now may marry my Labrador. 2. I voted Democratic because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the Government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t. 3. I voted Democratic because I believe the Government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would. 4. I voted Democratic because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as I agree with what is said and nobody else is offended by it. 5. I voted Democratic because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves. 6. I voted Democratic because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in 10 years if I don’t start driving a Prius. 7. I voted Democratic because I’m not concerned about millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive. 8. I voted Democratic because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education and Social Security benefits, and we should take away the Social Security from those who paid into it. 9. I voted Democratic because I believe that businesses should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit. 10. I voted Democratic because I believe liberal Judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters. 11. I voted Democratic because I think that it’s better to pay billions for their oil to people who hate us but not drill our own because it might upset some endangered beetle, spotted owl, gopher or fish. 12. I voted Democratic because my head is so firmly misplaced toward the south end of my body; it’s unlikely that I’ll ever have another point of view. No trees, Spotted Owls, or Red Cock-headed Woodpeckers were harmed in the sending of this message. —James W. Anderson Talladega, AL * * * What do you want to bet he might have voted another way? royexum@aol.com
9. @HVYMTL Quite the synopsis and assessment. The GOP needs to totally eliminate the culture of elitism that permeates every one of their functions. Speaker of the House shocked me with his speech after the election. He nailed it, now if only the rest of the party can fall in step.
10. Read the book, highly recommend it.
11. So sorry ... Prayed then read what happened. My sympathies.
12. During the fall and winter seasons, Elite Ammunition tunes FiveseveN's ... Price is fair for the work they do. Google is your friend.
13. Skin So Soft from Avon ... Used to work were there was lots of skeeters, black flies, deer flies ... they "drown" in the oil before they bite you. You look like crap with all their dead corpses on your skin but they die before they bite you. Deep Woods Off for your boots and pant cuffs for ticks and chiggers.
14. I wonder what I would decide if I sat on that homeowner's jury ... Let us pray that there are several righteous Tennesseans empaneled on that jury. What is going to suck is his legal costs and bills, it won't be cheap if the DA moves to push this to the grand jury and it passes for trial.
15. Inspect your grains ... especially white rice for bugs. We recently purchased a large quantity of white rice from an internet wholesaler and it was infested with rice weevils. By the time we caught on, all our dry goods was contaminated, especially the sugar. Now we have to get pest control in the house ... something I really hate to do. Freezing in a freezer for 3 days will kill them. I don't have a chest freezer yet, my fridge freezer is full of food.
16. There is a connotation there that you should pay a little more attention to ... jes' sayin'
17. Drove by their old storefront a week ago and was stunned to see it shuttered up. Any idea where they moved to? I Think the website still has there old address.
18. Why Ron Paul? THIS ....
19. One thing that is always in the back of my mind is if the person is a gang member, there has got to be retaliation planned ... their whole culture embraces that way of life. Just something else to think about.
20. Noisebusters ... Use them for work and for play. 60 hour battery life.
21. On TV a couple days ago, they had one of the victims being interviewed and he was vehemently denying it was gang related. They showed a picture pulled from facebook of him lying down on his hospital bed with all his friends flashing gang signs. Mirrors the same credibility as our politicians ... come to think about it, there is no difference between gangs and politicians!
22. We still have New Years Eve coming. When some out of town tourist gets killed as a result, you really believe Littlefield will be in the media admitting his part with this issue? No, he will point out how much money he saved by having our police officers not take their cruisers home. We won't even get into gutting their pensions and other morale building exercises he came up with.
23. If neutered means: This year has the first police academy class that graduated in a couple years .... Forcing our police officers to pay to take their police cruisers home which had predictable results ... Mayoral leadership marginalizing the police leadership in the media instead of supporting them .... Yeah ... Littlefield neutered our PD. What you are seeing now is the results of his determined agenda. Why is Bobby Dodd in the media handling this? Why is Mayor Littlefield not at his side supporting Bobby Dodd? Is it possible they can't stand each other? There is not a police officer in Chattanooga that has a good thing to say about Littlefield. Yep, we have a great <team> running the city ... are you starting to see a pattern here?
24. Leadership ... or the lack there of. We have a mayor who has very poor leadership skills. He has consistantly alienated people and departments by pitting them against each other to accomplish his aims. He has surrounded himself with cronies that tell him what he wants to hear and marginalized anyone that goes against his "vision". While he accomplished some "victories" the costs incurred because of his methods of leadership far outweigh the benefits. No one in the surrounding area wants to be a part of the Chattanooga Metro area because all we see is the increased taxes, fiscal mismanagement, high crime rate (which does not exist according to our leadership), marginal police resources, poor public infrastructure ... ad infinitum. There is very little to gain while paying a tax structure that is double if not triple of what we are paying right now. This area's insistence that there is no gang problem sets the stage for denial and the re-allocation of resources to our mayor's pet projects. What we the public say or point out has no relevance ... we are clueless about priorities and existing issues. Since we (the rest of Hamilton County) do not want anything to do with Chattanooga, our mayor has taken it upon himself to take over areas by force and legal manuverings. Why would we want to be a part of something that is consistently mismanaged and falling apart? Our current public resources are much better managed by our county and state leadership. They listen and respond ... unlike Chattanooga. /soapbox The crackdown thing is a hollow media ploy that brings visibility to his administration. It is hollow because of the "me vs. them" mentality. There is no team building going on as this solution requires empowering threats to his agenda. We as a people can remove the power from gangs. That will never happen with this administration.
