  1. Dang it! You got me wanting one again. Thanks for the report!
  2. Huh! I always thought the collet bushing only came in a Gold Cup. I learn a lot here. Thanks for the education.
  3. What a timely post! I just read on another forum yesterday that FBI agents paid a visit to a guy who made a disparaging remark about Horiuchi. Ain’t that something? The moral of this story is the commie bassturds are monitoring hunting forums. Don’t post anything you can’t defend in court.
  4. Good luck! I’ve about decided that 100 years ago, every house in Belgium must have had a shop out back where the owner made double barrel shotguns. I have one, but know next to nothing about it. It is of very high quality. You’d think someone would have been proud to have put their name on it.
  5. I agree with her.
  6. I know. I know. Wife wouldn't do it and I was driving.
  7. Driving up I40 yesterday heading to my kid’s baseball tournament, I spied a quite attractive girl pulled over on the shoulder, digging around in her car’s trunk while wearing shorts that could better be described as a thin belt with her azz cheeks prominently displayed. She was parked conveniently next to a wooded area where one couldn’t see what I expect was a group of thugs ready to take advantage of the first dumb guy who was generous enough to stop and offer help. I told the wife that reminded me of the fake deer game wardens place in fields to attract road hunters. I was surprised to not see the after effects of this display on the news this morning. Sorry guys. I was running 80 in traffic and decided against my better judgement to not get out the phone and snap a pic. Perhaps I’m just cynical anymore, but it sure looked like a trap to me.
  8. If I want to buy a toy, my wife is usually on board with it. If she wants to go to some far flung island for a week with her buddies, I’m good with that too. The other side of that coin is that we share long term financial goals, treat each other with respect, and generally don’t behave like children.
  9. Don’t discount it, as the run of the mill 70 series government models bring a pretty good price these days. They are fine pistols as well. What’s the asking price?
  10. I’ve decided that if you are buying from me, you are coming to me…with cash. I will afford you the same courtesy if you are the seller. I will be there at the agreed upon time unless something beyond my control prevents it, in which case I will notify you immediately. I cannot understand why this is so hard for people to do. It only takes a small bit of respect for your fellow man.
  11. I’ve not experienced any problems from critters eating my sunflowers.
  12. Fillet them, cut the meat into chunks and fry it. It’s worth a shot. I’ve tried drums, and they’re about as good as any other fish. If you don’t find that palatable, try cooking some in a pressure cooker, then making it into Pattie’s using a salmon patty recipe. A quick google search shows a plethora of Asian carp recipes.
  13. My wife and I have probably been on our last cruise together, as it is bell on earth to me. She has friends she goes on trips with. That’s great with me. Oddly enough, although we’ve never had an opportunity to shoot hogs, one of her favorite things to do I’d frog gigging.
  14. I like a beach if I can see it’s making my wife happy. I’d never have any interest in going to one without her though.
  15. That’s great. My wife and I happen to enjoy each other’s company. Sometimes that involves one of us doing something when we might rather be doing something else. Usually we have common interests though.
  16. I go when I’m asked. If not, I stay home.
  17. I guess I'm the debbil. My kids worked when they were old enough.
  18. Because God and John Browning said it was to be so. I've handled a Winchester lever action shotgun and several bolt action shotguns, and unwieldy is the term that comes to mind. Although Remington made some pretty cool pump rifles, I expect it was difficult to get top flight accuracy out of such an arrangement. Colt also made some really nice Lightning rifles, but for whatever reason, they were never as popular as the levers.
  19. That does seem like a steal in today's climate. You'll love it.
  20. Now that makes perfect sense. I’ve never used a progressive press.
  21. That is some very sound advice, Grayfox. Farm labor provides some mighty fine life lessons. It is a shame all kids don’t get the privilege of growing up on a farm.
  22. I guess I’ve been lucky as I’ve never used or felt the need to use a small base die. I can’t help but believe that a properly made sizing die should size a case back to SAAMI specs if adjusted properly. This should then work in a properly chambered firearm, just like factory ammo should. An AR is a battle rifle, designed for battle conditions, and is in no way “finicky”. I doubt seriously your AK would chamber an out of spec round either. I not sure how many ARs are laying around here, probably 8 or 10, and I assure you any of them will chamber, fire, and eject any in spec 223 or 556 round that’ll fit in a magazine. Perhaps your particular rifle has a really tight chamber, or perhaps you need to screw your sizing die into the press further. You’d really need to do some measuring to know for sure.
  23. Got the peppers and tomatoes planted today. Now that t’s time to let Mother Nature do her thing…and to fight off critters and weeds.
  24. I've never seen one of those. That's creepy!
  25. A lizard has dug himself living quarters in the pot where I planted herbs. Maybe that’s it?
