I would hate to see what deer meat cost per pound after factoring in the cost of a gun, fuel, ammo, processing, and such.  $25 a pound? Would be cheaper to buy a cow.

A few years back I had some leftover corn that I used to lure in bucks to take pictures of. TWRA had (might still have) a contest where you submit wildlife pictures for use on their calendar. I wanted a picture of a large buck looking up at a stand on a cold morning. A TWRA agent told me that feeding deer was 100% legal, and taking pictures out of a treestand was also 100% legal as long as I didn't have a gun. It was very late in the deer season, late Dec. I think, so I put out the corn and set a treestand up. The landowner had only given one person permission to be on her land and that was me. Two days go by and I sneak in with my camera only to find my stand laying on the ground. I left a note for the trespasser, leaving my phone number for him to give me a call. Thinking that I walked in as someone that was trying to steal my stand I didn't expect a call. A couple days go by and I find that he had left me a note on the tree telling me what I was doing was illegal. He offered to call TWRA for me and Bla bla bla. He also left his phone number on the note. So I called him. Not only did he assume he knew what was going on he was a dick about it. I gave the landowner all his info and let her deal with it. She knew what I was doing and was fine with it. He pretended to be innocent and played the "I thought I was on so and so's land." bull crap.     When you see people buying corn don't assume you know what they are doing.

I've coyote hunted lbl some and never seen a shortage of deer. I suspect the hunting pressure could cause it to be a little more difficult to hunt this late in the season. It is federal land so you will need an lbl permit plus your regular big game hunting license.

Got lucky today and took this eight point. I've hunted a little spot a few times the last couple weeks and haven't had any luck. I went in mainly to call and kill coyote. I've soft called a couple times but haven't had any takers. A few grey fox showed up but season wasn't open yet. I decided to take the muzzleloader in after noticing that a rub line had been hit in the last couple days. The woman that owns the property asked that I kill coyote first, don't shoot mom or baby deer, and only take big bucks. Since Sept. I've seen zero coyote, 12 or 13 doe and this buck.

No, and that's what worries me. There was no sign of anything wrong. He growled as he bit my wife and did the same as he bit my daughter.

I didn't get overly excited when it happened. My daughters was my number one priority at the time and I took care of her without hesitation. But when I walked back in the house this morning, after seeing her in tears, the sight of the dog made my blood boil.   

Well our new friend seems to have a temper problem. A couple weeks ago he tried to bite my wife's face while she was loving on him. Drake was awake and alert while my wife was petting on him. With a growl and a snap he tried to bite her nose. Luckily she pulled her head away just in time. She thought that maybe his nose was scratched during the time she was rubbing his head causing him to lash out. We figured no harm no foul and moved on. Now this dog will let you love on him 24-7. If the petting stops he will move closer or put a paw on ya to get it started again. So it seems plausible that my wife did cause his actions.     Fast forward till last night. The dog is sitting at my daughters feet having his back stroked when all of the sudden he spins on a dime and bites her on the mouth. No reason for it to happen this time. He's been fed, walked, watered, and very well cared for over the last month. While I sat at the ER for 6 hours waiting on stitches to be put in her mouth I cant tell you the stuff that went through my mind. The dog has become family. My family and I love him but can no longer trust him. The rescue we got him from had us sign paperwork stating that we will return him to them should there be a problem. I have no problem with that as long as they tell the adopting family that he bites. I hate it! He was working out with us so well. He obviously has some kind of problem. Something sets him off and I don't what. A twenty year old me would have handled this in a totally different way.                                                                                                                                          

What barrel manufacturer?  I know there are a lot of barrels out there that will fit my need without spending huge bucks.

I'm not looking to break the bank on this barrel, having said that...I'm looking for a 16" barrel for an AR build. It will be suppressed shooting heavier bullet weights (180gr plus). What twist rate, gas port length, gas block do you recommend? There are so many different brands out there I'm having trouble deciding. This will be used to hunt smaller game with and thus will be shooting non FMJ bullets.

Well, the reason I need to get the tailgate open in a hurry is because that's where I store my life jackets. All Jeep owners need to keep life jackets handy, it's to keep from drowning in  Pu###. :stir:  :rofl:

Thanks guys. His name is Drake. I think his original race name was CTW Drake. I haven't looked at his tattoo to make sure and I guess it doesn't really matter. He's a very lovable dog and a bit of a night owl. He doesn't like to be away from people and that worries me just a bit. I know how much trouble they can get in when nobody is around. I've had to adjust a little too. Being used to total silence when sleeping the clanking of the dog tag makes for a restless night.  

I do have a hitch. My problem is the racks using the hitch hit the spare tire, and you have to remove the rack to open the tailgate. The ones that attach to the spare tire allow the bikes to swing out of the way when the tailgate is opened.

Did you have blood high on brush or trees? If not it might have been a leg or very low chest hit. Did you find the arrow?

We took in this four year old greyhound and he instantly became family. With the exception of the sexy loaner jacket he is the least amount of trouble of any dog I've ever owned.

Does anyone have first hand knowledge of a bike rack that mounts to the spare tire of Jeep Wrangler. I've seen a couple online but I don't always believe the reviews. Some people give four stars because they own it and others give one stare because, well, they like to cry. I like the racks that have a bracket that mounts behind the spare tire and protrudes through the center cap of the wheel. Would like to have a three bike setup but I really only need a two bike. Anyone? The bikes will be large hybrid style bikes, not little kids bikes.

I'm going to blow your mind with one small detail. Use V8 juice instead of just plain ol tomato juice. It adds most of the vegetable taste everyone wants. You can still add mushrooms, peppers, pinto beans and all the other stuff you like. Let a good portion of the water cook off or add a little tomato paste. I add chili powder and just a little extra cayenne pepper to give it some kick.    

First things first. Money: You can buy a good used one loaded up for around $500-$600. You need to know your draw length and make sure the one you get fits you. If you are looking for a new bow I recommend using a good bow shop. They can set you up with everything you will need but be prepared to pay. Moving to a compound bow you will more than likely start using a release of some kind. With the high let off bows using fingers to shoot makes the shooter a little less accurate and you won't be happy. Draw weight: 50lb limbs will do the job, but if you can go higher do it. The faster arrow will help make up for misjudging distance. I've owned a Bear, Golden Eagle, and a Mathews Switchback. The Mathews is a much better bow than the other two. One more thing, arrows are expensive. All it takes is slapping a few during practice or launching one over the target and you could have bought enough reloading supplies to shoot for the day. You can spend as much or as little as you want. But remember you get what you pay for.

I read the book as well and thought that scene was in the very beginning of the book. First chapter? He shot the grenade, killing the woman, right?

Don't trust anyone, especially a third party leasing company. Sell and be done. A friend of mine got caught up in a deal where he thought a leasing company had evicted his renter. The electric had been shut off for months. The house looked next to abandon so my friend went in and cleaned out his house of items that were left behind. Guess who got to ride in the back of a police car and pay top dollar for all the items that were put in a dumpster.

I've never owned a 1911. I have shot a few and don't remember if the mag button had to be pushed or not. I think I would have remembered that, but who knows.

Our field rep was in town today and brought his Para 1911 with him. He asked if I wanted to go shoot it and of course I said yes. I go to insert the magazine and it wouldn't go past the mag release button. He told me that the button had to be pressed for the mag to go in. Said its always been like that. Both factory mags did the exact same thing. I never tried to force them because the gun didn't belong to me. That's not right, is it?

I have to ask...why does he shoot into the ground with his handgun? I've seen a few videos where this is done, is it used to frighten a mob?

They were good people. I'm sure it had something to do with keeping stock for their builds. Not knocking them in any way, I just really wanted two of their lowers.
