  1. Yes, I'd say the shooting sports are really going to get expensive in the foreseeable future. Not that I like that any more than the rest of us here, but if any of the figures and information seen on this thread are even partially correct; shooting 22 caliber may become the most expensive round to fire outside of some of the big caliber rifles. And may be seen about as frequently as a Barret 50BMG on the local ranges.   Like Randall53, I have several Ruger semiautos, a conversion kit for my P220, my sentimental favorite the HighStandard Olympic, a 10/22, and a couple of rifles as well..   Maybe I should have sold the GSG and the M&PAR15-22 earlier.
  2. Looks like the mighty and all-seeing e-bay management pulled the ad. Because of the reference to a gun purchase. But the seller has reposted it as a stand alone sale.
  3.   Well...I have some pretty wierd dreams and I function somewhat well...sometimes.   Surely a sheriff could handle it.
  4. "...of Warren Zevons' Porcelain Monkey.."
  5.       Well said, Mike. I'm not sure I agree with your choice, but wait, you said favorite. My bad. Yes that's a great one. I'd have avery hard time picking my favorite, but Ben Hur would be real close to the top.    And back on track....the joke was absolutely great!!
  6.   You liked Dallas, didn't you. :pleased:
  7.   I t does boggle the mind. 4 Million rounds. That's a lot of shooting. Pre O, and Newtown, I'd hazard a guess that the average shooter, and this is based on me; probably kept a couple of bricks or 4/5 bu;k packs around. I actually had just a little more counting the 22 mag I shoot.   Say 2-3 thousand rounds. How many of us have at least one 22 rimfire handgun or rifle? I'd guess it at 40-50% here. And some of us have several.   So just using our little group as a test case. 3000 rounds a person. 15000+/- members here at 50% yields 7500 x 3000= 22,500,000 rounds! Man that's a lot. Maybe my figures are off on this.   But anyway, there's a lot of us shooting 22. Looking for it. And competeing with scroungers trying to resell. Even with all this, it still is curious that the 22 seems to be the most uncommon round aot there.   But still...I have no idea where its all gone to. My thoughts are just conjecture. If prices and availability come back to "normal," I won't be caught short again on 22.   And I'd think most others are planning the same
  8. ..along came Jones, slow walkin' Jones, slow talkin' Jones...
  9. Southern Aabama. Where...
  10. At this point, Rand Paul would be my choice as well. However, we still have a long, long, O filled wait to get thru.
  11. Bid to get it???? Nope.
  12. I've lost count of them. But keep on with it every day.
  13. I have an older Gammo that I got 5/6 (?) years ago. It's an NRA scoped model, rated at 1200fps. I paid about 200 for it with s/h. Fun toy for backyard shooting. Accurate with me to about 30-35 yards. That's as good as I can do with the stock trigger. Which by the way, feels like it must be 25 lbs. Hardest trigger I've ever felt on an airgun, and probably on any gun. I mistakenly ordered it with scope instead of irons, that really limits its use.   When the neighbors first saw me with it, several complained I was shooting a 22 in my back yard. It's that loud.     Hopefully newer models will be better.
  14. Wow. Very Nice.
  15.   I had a Nano. Shot ok. Was pretty accurate. But a pretty stiff recoil impulse. I was resigned to it until I got the chance to shoot a Shield.   I put my name on the waiting list for one immediately. Traded the Nano when the Shield came in. Sweetest shooting compact 9 I've ever shot. Yes I prefer it ove the PPS and the G19.   Disassembly is a little different, but not bad. JMO
  16. There's another place to go????   I don't have the time, I'm here too much.
  17. I agree that the "sheeple" and the non-initiated into the firearms world certainly get a cockeyed view of the reality of a gun. I find, as you seem to, that the fantasy element gotten from these shows is just a little far-fetched.   But to the average guy on the street looking at his first experience with a firearm...I would't recommend it either.
  18. Diamondback Police Supply... :usa:
  19. I may have to start watch Fox again. That's twice in the last few days I find myself in agreement with the commentary on "The Five."
  20. Hideho, neighbor!
  21. A bit late, but...Welcome.   Nice ways to spend time and money. Both of them.
  22.   Social satire is one thing. I can almost see the humor in parts of the bit. But humor isn't necessarily about insulting someones' religion or beliefs. I know that opinion isn't how today's so-called satirist operate though.   But his attempt at "satire" ended with his tweeted response.   I wound not consider that humorous in the least.
  23. Jimmy and Billy Carter riding along...
  24. It's a georgeous firearm, of that there is no doubt.
  25.   I'll save you the trouble. It's offensive to God, religion in general, gun owners and Charleton Heston.
