  1. I hope this one suits you. I found this thread just after recommending something else.
  2. Get a kel-tec or a lcp and unload that disaster.
  3. Thanks for posting this. Some of us don't automatically assume the name Taurus is synomous with poor quality and bad service. May be in the minority on this, but I have not had an issue with any Taurus product I've ever owned, and that's been close to 20 over the years. Not saying Taurus is the best thing since sliced bread, swiss cheese and bacon, but for entry level to low mid-range pricing; the products are well worth their cost. Now let the flack begin...
  4. I agree. Guess the caption that it was a Kriss was just wishful thinking...
  5. Owned a stainless P230 for about a year. Great little shooter, relatively speaking. Accurate and comfortable. Good carry size for me. Mine liked the Prvi Partisan ammo and was alwas reliable. Steel's comments about the mag release are spot on. That was the only thing I disliked about it. Traded it for a SW4013 and kinda miss it.
  6. Excellent thinking there, sir. Persistence in all things, especially those of importance. So many incidents on college andh/s campus in the past few years that maybe it will be possible to gain some more support this time around for passage. And I've always opposed the parking lot restrictions. On my last job, we were forbidden to carry or bring weapons of any type on company property. This really caused quite a bit of disgust with management, as many of the office and sales staff drove from as far out as 75 miles to get to work. And some of us on the sales routes were out all day and sometimes came in to an empty building and had to make night deposits and park our trucks in an easily penetrated lot in front of the building. Since I no longer work there, I can say probably as much as 50% of the outside staff had firearms in their vehicles. And I strongly suspect one or two of the drivers might have forgotten to leave a gun at home in the morning.
  7. We have a winner! I have owned a hammerd and a DAO Sp101, both in 357. Heavy enough to tame the 357 recoil, and light enough to shoot comfortably with 38 loads. And as said above bu tercel89 they should last a lifetime. They seem dang near indestructible.
  8. Yes, great little pistols. I've acquired another 22/45 and a Mk III Hunter recently. Thought I'd sell or trade one of them...but they look and shoot so well, I can't seem to let go.
  9. Don't know if Mark and Scott will move your old safe for you...but I did visit The Safe House today. And they do have a nice selection on hand. It may have been the right thing to do at the wrong time. The Browning Prosteel is calling...loudly.
  10. Hadn't planned on going out myself, the wife was; but I woke up about 3:45 and couldn't get back to sleep. So I decided to go to Home Depot and Lowes. Pulled into H/D about 4:52 and there were about 10 people at the door. Waited til doors opened and went after a couple of u-assemble plastic cabinet units and a package of tape measures. Seems like I can never find one. Then went to the Rivergate Lowes for a $19 Werner 6 ft ladder and a hand held spotlight. No problems at either store. In and out of both and back home in just over an hour. Talked to several cashiers who said a lot of the early shoppers stated they had been out all night and were just finishing up. Not for me, buddy. I'd miss my sleep time.
  11. Welcome back. Missed seeing your avatar. If i don't get my terminator fix regularly, I have to break out the movies again. And that's dangerous around my place. The wife is really, really tired of seeing them.
  12. Maybe I've led a sheltered life, foodwise, anyway. But I've never been around a turducken or known anyone who has prepared and served one. Seems like almost all the references I've heard about it have been on tv. What's it like? Any comments?
  13. Very Well Said, my friend. You covered it nicely.
  14. Thank you. That's all I can say.
  15. Turkey and Ham for the inlaws. Leftovers for me and the dog.
  16. Thanks, I guess I'm just an old fart that has trouble fumbling around in this new hi-tech world of ours.
  17. Alright, I'll be the first to ask, I think. How do you use and post on iTrader? Is there an icon somewhere to click that will get you to a page to post? Although I've somehow managed to add some comments, it seems to have been blind luck in doing so. I've done it thru an automated(?) pm so far. Any admin advice for the unknowing?
  18. Thanks, Mac. I'll give them a look.
  19. Great little guns. I had the 40 and wimped out. It's a pretty snappy little handfull. Traded it to John Wall at Eastside, then picked up Hickock45's 9mm version. I like it much better. Mags are a little pricey for them, high 30's to mid 40's. But it's a real nice little pistol. Just haven't found the right holster for me yet...Had a Taugua universal that fit it pretty well, but it started splitting in the belt notches after a few months of wear. Picked up a Don Hume, but I dont like the extreme cant on it, and it pulls away from my side a little. Thinking more alont the lines of a traditional pancake style for it now.
  20. I finally did, at my wife's insistance. No worse than some remake movies. About 75%+ was word for word dialog from the orginal. Bridges wasn't too bad, but it just wasn't the same as the Duke.
  21. As a guy who likes the all, especially 1911's, all the choices mentioned are really great firearms; but I lean more toward a Springfield or a Sig. TRP is wonderful. The LW Loaded Chanpion Operator is a favorite of mine. And the Sig RCS is really great. Now looking at a 5" Sig for the collection.
  22. Yeah, my crappy printer is down too.
  23. You been hangin' with the Rabbi too much. No taste for a quality firearm anymore.
  24. Count me in as well, that sure looks interesting. Could possibly move me from the G30.
