  1. Looks like a good condition example of post-war P38. Hard to tell from the picture, but does the slide show a little pitting or nicks in the finish? Depending on the manufacture date and location, it probably would be best to keep it as is. JMO
  2. That's a big "Yes' to you. I have an A80, nickel finish. A sweet, accurate shooter. The only problem is finding mags for it. I only have one, and haven't seen another.
  3. Looks like we're in the same situation. I bought a 1000 rounds last year. And it is good ammo. Just runs a little dirty. My G30 runs good with it, just gets dirty pretty quickly. And the CZ Rami just loves it. So far, it's the most accurate load in it.
  4. I've been a Taurus fan for a long time and have had and still have several of them. I've been wanting a 709, but just seem to always get something else. I'm glad it works well for you. Makes my desire a little more likely. As to the FTE/FTF issues...I would attribute them to the ammo. S&B seems to be just not as clean burning powder as others. I really like it, but every pistol I use it in seems to get inordinately dirty very quickly. Then come the problems. Even my G19 gets a little gummy with it. So enjoy the 709 and use a different brand in it.
  5. FWIW, I preferred the LCP over the Bodyguard. Really didn't like the feel of the gun and absolutely dislikded the laser switch. Haven't shot a Bodyguard so I can't reasonably compare the two, but I've had no problems with the LCP. Put several hundred roounds thru it so far with no problems. I've used only the Prvy Partisan loads and find them as accurate as I am. I opted for the CTC package on mine and find it exceedingly easy to use. Preset the laser at home, then went to G&L and fired it in, setting the laser and point of impact at about 25 feet. I take it with me every time I shoot and run several mags thru to keep comfortable with it and the trigger. If the Bodyguard works for you as well as the LCP does for me, you'll be very happy with it.

    1911 Micro Compact

Excellent gun. Should you tire of it...I'd willingly give it a new home.
  7. Although I really like my Taurus 85 revolver, I really, really like my G30. One of the best shooting and accurate short-barreled pistols I've ever owned. I'd think that's one heck of a deal you got.
  8. Absolutely beautiful gun!!! And the work Chad is doing is fabulous. If I'm ever able to bite the bullit(Ouch! Rotten pun.), and have a true custom 45/9mm/38Super, Chad is definitely the go-to guy.
  9. At opposite ends of the spectrum...Real Genius and definitely as Doc Holiday.
  10. I don't think I'm mistaken here; but I believe Keltec did produce a 40 for a short time. The PF40. Known for a monsterous recoil and tendancy to crack frames and slides because of the pressures on the polymer construction.
  11. Sweet looking pistola. Can I babysit it for you for a year or so? No charge.
  12. I like it. Clean. Simple. Roomy. Good lighting and security when you want it. And even a covered pool. I even like the blockade fencing look. Of course my wife said..."Yuck." Women. Go figure.
  13. Been with Verizon for 13 years. No problems. Had a Quallcom phone for 5 years with a 2 year contract that gave me 900 minutes a month for $45. And ran on the same contract for another 4 years because I brought in another phone given to me when mine gave out. Worst thing I can say is that when I had to get a new phone, I was forced to get a new contract and give up the old rate/time plan. The current one is about like Mike.357's. And since I don't text, I really have no issues with Verizon.

    My new Rami

Had one for about a year. Love it. Good shooter and deadly accurate. I think you'll be able to force youself to keep it.
  15. Great idea, Dolomite. I've got several white dot sights I'd like to upgrade. What is the source for the titanium dioxide? Thanks for the tip.
  16. Same here. I currently own 7 Taurus products from a Model 85 revolver to a stainlessPT1911. I've had not a single problem with any of them. In fact I've bought and sold probably a dozen more in the last ten years, and the worst thing I can say about any of them is that I didn't like the hiene sights on several of them and had a PT111 that had too long a trigger pull to suit me. YMMV
  17. We each have our preferences, I know. But...I really, really prefer Novak 3-dot. Even the dreaded stock glock sights. But heines can kiss my heine.
  18. Cap and Dolomite, thanks for the advice. I'm new to this as well. Waiting on my papers to come back from the Chief and then the lonnnnggg wait. But I'm trying to warch and listen in on all related topics to get a head start on preventing issues.
  19. If these are still moving, I'd like to get in on it as well. There was a reference to a Taurus 40 mag sometime back. I think it said for a PT100(?). I'd really like that. And have several items to add holsters(not sure what they fit), a couple of magazines if I can find the CZ box, etc. Just Pm me for address if its still moving.

    My first Glock

As the owner of a 19,22, and a 30; let me say--Welcome to the crowd. It probably won't be your last.
  21. Very interesting looking. I predict that I will look far and wide to see one for myself. Waffle over it and then probably walk away, thinking " I have too may 1911's to bite this early on another...But maybe later..."
  22. I've heard of them, but never seen or had hands on one. But I'd say it would be an interesting weapon. In fact, just the other day my brother-in-law and I were talking and he mentioned the possibility of doing one in 45acp. That would get my attention...quickly.
