I truly believe most people aren't taught how to drive anymore. They are only taught how to control their vehicle and that's why most people have zero understanding of laws and rules of the road.

I just got a yaesu ftm-510 and am starting into aprs. Has a bit of a steep learning curve so far.

Finding the radio isn't the biggest challenge here, it's going to be antennas. HF antenna are huge, but you can get some but most will only cover one or two bands. Not trying to "challenge" you, but why do you want all bands? Most hams only use 2 meter and 70cm mobile. To answer your question though, icom 706, yeasu ft-891 both come to mind with several others as possibilities.

I am not any shape or form an expert on the m-14, but I don't think it was ever chambered in 30-06. The m-1 garand was, but not the m-14.

Only problem is they would have to give an ffl to anyone that requests one even without a store front. (criminals excluded)
