DHS raiding store for counterfeit Coach bags? DHS? Really?
LagerHead replied to TerryW's topic in General Chat
It's all about empire building, which is what the government is all about. During our lifetime I will bet we will see the "Papers please" gestapo here in this country. -
While I fully support every citizen's right to carry, Mac is right. When you go looking to poke the bear, don't feign surprise when the bear bites back.

Good luck on your brew. Of course we'll be wanting a "range report" once it is done.

Unfortunately suing the government very rarely has this effect. The doctors will claim they were doing what they were told and authorized by the warrant. My guess is that this will end with a payout of less than seven figures. I would be surprised if it was six. Here's hoping I'm dead wrong though. Yea, unfortunately, "Cop makes good arrest, saves the lives of x number people" just isn't a catchy headline. Never makes the news. Yep. When you reach rock bottom it is generally advisable to stop digging.

I have been wearing this version since 2007. I got it at Wal Mart for $85. It has the atomic clock feature so it's always right and 5 minutes in direct sunlight charges the battery for six months. I know it's not black but the atomic clock and solar charging features rock in my opinion. http://www.amazon.com/Casio-MTG900DA-8V-G-Shock-Atomic-Tough/dp/B00134L8XU/ref=sr_1_9?s=watches&ie=UTF8&qid=1383680784&sr=1-9&keywords=casio+g-shock+atomic+solar

Glad you are being showered with good news. Cancer isn't usually like that.

Good luck to Gordon. I couldn't find where I could change it. This might require a visit from the TGOD himself.

I laughed too. And now that I know it's fake, I don't feel bad.

If you thought really hard you could probably come up with 1,000 things I think are really, really dumb ideas. Out of those 1,000 I probably think 2 of them should be illegal. Just because I think it's a terrible idea in no way means I think the government is going to come up with a better one. So yea, it should be legal AND I think the folks that carried them into Starbucks were wrong. No contradiction here.
-
I think a better question would be, why was it ever made illegal? The only thing that makes a weapon offensive or defensive is who starts it. If I come in to a place and start shooting for no reason with my XD, my pistol is an offensive weapon. If I get taken out by someone with an AR-15, it just became a defensive weapon. This argument sounds vaguely familiar. Where have I heard it before? Oh yea, from Brady, Obama, Pelosi, Boxer, and every other anti-gun person/organization out there. ;) And here I was thinking I was the only one who got it.

How so? The Republicans submitted a budget that fully funded the entire government. The Democrats refused to accept it. So if you are short on rent and I offer you $1000 to pay your rent and utilities and you refuse to take it, is it my fault that you get evicted? Nope, it's yours. Same exact thing.

Yep, if you can swing it lessons will help you learn a lot more a lot faster. And learn to read music. Reading music will help you learn on your own as well.

The squirrel was probably related to this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgj3nZWtOfA

Yea, but is he any good? :P

I've done the flip-the-dirt-bike-over-my-head thing, but never with a 4 wheeler. OUCH!

My dad was a mechanic and of course an all around fix-it kinda guy. He never taught me anything as a child either. As a young adult I couldn't afford to pay to have anything fixed. I was lucky to make rent half the time so I learned the hard way. Now I can fix most stuff that needs fixin' and sometimes I can even afford to pay someone else to fix something I could fix myself. I can't say enough good about the difference between HAVE to fix and CHOOSE to fix.

I'm very sorry, but I laughed out loud at this. I think it was the "speed of sound" part. Now you see, that's just the kind of wisdom you will NEVER pick up if you live up North.

Without Remorse is still one of my favorite books. RIP Tom.

I didn't see her. It's under her last name, right? Edit: I found her.

Bike Trip - 2000 miles in less than 48 hours
LagerHead replied to Good_Steward's topic in General Chat
Wow dude, that's a lot of riding. Please make sure you rest when you need it. I can't imagine how tired and sore you will be after 45 hours in the saddle. Best of luck. -
It is very, very easy to explain why they won't allow military personnel to carry on base. You are not even close to trustworthy unless you are an officer. Enlisted personnel can't be trusted which is why they have things like "mandatory fun" on long weekends. There are no exceptions to this rule. If you can't be trusted to not get so blitzed that you steal a tank and ram it through a child care center on a weekend, how can you possibly be trusted to carry a loaded gun during the week?
