    9mm 1911

I have not had any issues with my Kimber 9mm's or Springfield EMP. I personally like the pro size best. The EMP is just big enough for me to get a full grip but I wish it had a little checkering on the front strap.
  2. I don't have the aegis but I do have the pro tatical in 9mm. I haven't had any issues.
  3. What is the best product to polish the brass on this knife? I keep it in my heated safe but the brass needs shined up. Thanks in advance.
  4. We haven't had cable in 8 years. We have used Netflix and Amazon Prime. The best advise I have is to spend a few extra dollars and get a good antenna.
  5. I am interested in buying my first 1911. I have read the good, the bad and the ugly about Kimbers. Some people love them others hate them. What else should I be considering in a 4" barrel in that price range? Thanks for the feedback.
  6. Don't forget about Martins BBQ in Nolensville (30 mins south of Nashville). If you have never tried it you should.
  7. GGP a Yahoo leage should be fairly easy to set up. That is what we used at work last season.
  8. I recently got one of my dad's guns that is in need of a good cleaning. It is a Savage 24b dl 20g/22wmr over and under. Dad does not shoot or hunt so this gun has sat in the closet for the past 20+ years. The action has some slight discoloration around the pins/ and where the stock meets the action. I have applied a generous coating of cleansoil on the entire gun. I figure that I will let it sit a few day and then get back to scrubbing. Do you guys have any other suggestions?
  9. I got an RW Wilson knife for Christmas last year. I'll try to figure out how to post a pic.
  10. I have a 6.5x55 sweede well two actually. One is a Ruger M77 Mark II with a new Bushnell Elite 4200 scope on it. It shoots better than I do and drops deer like a sack of bricks. The other is an old Carl Gustafs. This was the first gun I ever bought and havn't shot it for 10 years. The recoil is minimal and if you reload you can load up or down based on what you are hunting. The Modern Relading Second Edition has loads from 70 grain bullets up to 160's. Mine tends to like 140's the best. Speer Grand Slam bullets work great for hunting deer also. If you have any other qustions feel free to ask.
  11. The Bushnell Elite 4200 and Nikon Monarch both have very clear glass. I don't think you could go wrong with either one.
  12. I agree with everything above. The only thing I would add is to check the Ohio laws to see how much orange you are required to have before you buy clothing. Layers will defiantly be a key to a successful hunt. Be prepared to freeze your butt off sitting in a foot of snow, but it could also be very mild. In my opinion boots/gloves should be your most important purchase ( don't want those hand and feet to get cold and wet). I typically use 1000 gram gortex boots and it does the trick. You may want to ask about the property and see if you will be walking through/over creeks if you will be doing a stalk type hunt.
  13. I am wanting to build a home defense shotgun and already have a Knox stock for a Remington 870. I also have an 1100 so I don't need to use this for bird/skeet shooting. What would be the best (most cost effective) model to purchase? The express tactical seems to be the best option, but also the most expensive. I look forward to your suggestions and pics.
  14. I have Burris Xtreme tatical mounts on my RRA. I had to use extra high rings to get the right height. Burris Xtreme Tactical Picatinny Style Rail 1" Weapon Rings w/ FREE UPS 420183 420182 420181 420180
  15. I have a 4x on my 10/22 also. That should provide enough magnification for what you plan on doing.
  16. If you are working in Dickson and want to live in/near Nashville I would suggest that you start looking near Bellvue (west of Nashville near I40). They are considered part of Metro I dont know if that matters to you or not. Living on the west side of town will save you a ton of time fighting downtown traffic trying to go west if you live on the east side of town. Home prices are reasonable and you are fairly close to most things. I'm sure others who live on that side of town can offer more specific areas.
  17. I second the Golden Rod. My safe has an electrial plug in it just makes sense to use it. I ordered mine from Cabelas.
  18. Remember not to spend all of your money at Greater Pitt shooting range. That is a great place to shoot.
  19. In my opinion for the money the Bushnell Elite line is hard to beat. I recently purchased a 3-9x40 and have really enjoyed it.
  20. I have the same problem with an AR mag. I looked at getting the Caldwell Solo ( curved bar) but ended up getting a steal ($35 normal retail is like 75 I think) on the the Caldwell Rock ( front rest only) at Academy in Cool Springs last weekend. I figure I will just need to get a rear sand bag now. Probably not as great as a one piece fixed rest, but half the cost.
  21. Stopped snowing in Nolensville, but glad I was sent home early from work.
  22. I have been looking at getting a shooting rest. Last time I was out I rented a Led Sled, but the pistol grip on my AR kept hitting the center bar, and that was slightly frustrating. I know they make the Led Sled Solo ( has the bent bar). Anyone want to recommend another option? The only other thing I can think of is a front rest with separate rear bag.
  23. My father in-law converted some super heavy duty storage cabinets he recieved from a place that he used to work that were going to throw them out. I don't know if you know anyone who works in some type of warehouse where they might have something like this.
