  1. When I got my CW-9 and put the 1st 100 rounds through it I was worried I had bought a because it had some many failures. It started clearing up @ about 150 rounds. I probably now have 400 or so through it and haven't had a failure and consider it realiable enough for EDC.
  2. You must surrend to the greater power You have been assimilated
  3. You got to give the Buckmark some love here. I really like mine. I used a Neos when I did my HCP class and it's a good little gun. The Ruger is I think the most popular. You couldn't go wrong with any of the three.
  4. There has to be a joke somewhere about kissing his "boo boo" but I won't go there. Just saying
  5. Is that a gun your carrying or are you just happy to see me?
  6. It's an intresting and probably good question. That being said even if the data were available you most likely couldn't beleive it. If that data was tracked it would by either a pro or anti gun group not an actual un bias agency that would publish raw numbers. The data would most likely be skewed or slanted to either prove or disprove what ever agenda the group has.
  7. I put Houge grips on mine and an ambi safety since I'm left handed. It's the only 1911 I own and I'm pleased with it.
  8. It sounds like I did it backwards. Being a newbe I wanted to learn a little before making a $500 purchase so I took the basic handgun safety class before the HCP class and rented a gun for both (a 22). While waiting for the HCP I went to CCA a couple of times and rented several guns to try out again before making a $500 purchase.
  9. Makes you wonder what the rest of story is/was after they both exited the door and went out of sight of the camera Did she kick his butt and maybe try to have him arrested or did they laugh togather all the way to the cornor bar
  10. Thanks, that clarifies and answers my question.
  11. Would one of the padded cases that you can slip a pair of eye glasses into work? That would cover the entire magazine and also fit in the lockbox?
  12. I've looked through several threads relative to checking firearms and ammo and also at the TSA site. TSA says something to the effect that ammo should be in a box specifically designed for small amounts of ammo. I have purchased a car safe with cable for the weapon and magazine. These safes are clearly to small to place a box of ammo in them. My question is can the ammo and the box it's in just be placed loose in the suit case without it being locked up in some type of safe or lock box?

  14. Hold the hate mail I'm just reporting it. We have a contractor installing new "energy efficiency" measures in our building. It includes new temp and moisture sensors and timers for the A/C. At present none of it works so all of the dampers are open all the way and the A/C is basically running on max. The ladies up front are wearing sweaters and opening the windows. My office is in interior of the bldg. and I'm having to go outside to warm up.
  15. Welcome. I've got family in Huntsville, good little town.
  16. Red Lobster in Oak Ridge has the sign carved into a wood plaque on the front of the building. It looks sort of like a street number sign. To remove it would actually leave a hole in the siding in the bldg. I carry past it and have never said anything to them. I've seen it in other places also but my thinking is that if I tell them the sign is no longer valid they may decide to put one up that is valid. My policy is keep quite about it.
  17. I have had the same checking account since 1982. It was !st American then was bought by AmSouth which was then bought by Regions. I still keep it only becasue they seem to have more ATM available around the SE US. I rarely ever actually go inside. The rest of my stuff goes to the my personnel CU account @ ORNL CU or mine and my wife's joint account @ Y-12 CU. I agree with other posts that CUs give better service than banks. Relative to moving money from one bank to another, why cash? I wouldn't want to carry it. I would ask for a check or electronic transfer. I also agree with other posts that if you do move let them know why and like a couple of others said Region's is getting greedy with their fees.
  18. I"m left handed and also shoot left handed. Slide releases aren't a problem but mag releases are. I've tried to teach myself to push the mag release on my Glock with my left index finger. Sometimes I can and sometimes I just push on it instead of pushing it in.
  19. I know you just have to dyng to say "Do you feel lucky? Well do you punk"?

That was an expensive phone repair. Good thing it didn't take an hour. Congrats on your new purchase.
  21. My EDC is a Kahr CW-9 and I am happy with it
  22. I didn't watch so I don't care. Bye Bye
  23. Those are some gorgeous holsters. I would have to upgrade my wardrobe just to wear one.
