  1. After two tours in the sandbox, I love all the weather that TN offers. Being in Hot or HOT temperatures year round has given me an appreciation for outdoors we are lucky to have.
  2. My mom left me her 85 Toyota truck that became my daily driver. I shipped it from Ca. to TN. because it was her daily driver till she passed and it holds sentimental value. Except for the gas issue, I love my 03 Dodge 2500 even though the dash is cracked everywhere and some minor irritating issues interior wise, it has served me well. Hopefully I won't need to buy a truck anytime soon, but if I do a Toyota or Dodge will be looked at first.
  3. Still debating about taking up hunting gobblers. I fish and hunt deer with a muzzleloader but the intricacies of of turkey hunting seems a lot to learn. Anyone interested in trading some rockfish catching techniques for turkey hunting techniques? I also got a bass boat but not sure where the fish is at on the water.
  4. Thanks SWJewellTN, and cool review. 1 on order.
  5. After my 20 I'll be in the market for a rescue dog. Wish I could get one now, but I travel too much. I know a lot of dogs need a good home.
  6. I love dogs, all kinds, even dominant breeds. I also know that they are unpredictable so I react like you did, me in between an unknown dog and my loved ones no matter the size or demeanor of said dog. Problem is that you don't know how the owner trained/loved the dog so it's better to be safe. Between reading posts on this subject, talking with the wife and even a good friend, it'll play out and not be a burden to ya. Glad all worked out well.
  7. I bought the 5 stitch for a G-19 at home and have been using it in Iraq for the last 4 months with an M9 with two spare mag carriers, Surfire and it's holding up. Never tried the other type but the 5 stitch is good enough.
  8. It's the only thing I hunt since I got buddies that give me last years venison that they don't eat. It's and aquired taste for sure though. Used to just get it for my in-laws and after a few seasons of trying it and tastes, I've now grown to like it.
  9. Very nice.
  10. Yes........
  11. Nice. That would be an awesome conversation piece.
  12. Well said, this is a prolem in the Reserves, where the newer Soldiers don't seem to get trhe whole representing the military thing.
  13. As books of that sort, from airport, theres a used book-store off I-440, take White bridge Rd. exit, left, then right on Charlotte and it'll be on your right side across from a bank. Awesome prices but you never know what revision they will have of a book. Good luck.
  14. +1, lesson learned, I think it's cool what you are trying to do. You have to be carefull, or your looking at being dropped by homeowners and other out of pocket expense. I do hope that you are able to help the dog.

I'll set you up with training, uniforms, and jumps with pay, as long as you willing to sign a contract for Uncle Sam. But seriously, www.tennskydive.com and www.skydivesmokymountains.com were some places the guys at my unit used.
