  1. So 4 cops are taken out of rotation, on heightened alert status cause a jack-off wants to walk around with a rifle and handgun for no reason. Guy couldn't wait for his truck, how long does it take to wash a vehicle in Cali? Walking away and yelling to random people like he demonstrated or enlightened them somehow. Those citizens probably called the cops about the idiot. I understand the handgun, but the rifle was for cool factor I guess. Every car wash I been to you are able to keep 100% visual on your ride while it's being washed so the rifle could have been kept in the truck safely. Tired of these guys chasing 15minutes of fame on the net.
  2. Good copy...

    Does

Nice, where in the neck area do you aim? I shot one with a muzzle loader about a third of the way up and it was still breathing 25minutes later when I got to her. Used my side arm to finish the job but were your still breathing when you got to them?
  4. I bought the house next to my in-laws so my wife and kids would have family support during my I deployments. I know I'm in the minority of people who get along with their in-laws and while it's been great, I second these gentlemen on their advice; unless you are very passive and willing to let a lot of things slide. Sorry couldn't help on the land part and good luck.

    Para P12

I got the P13-45 - not sure if the internals are the same though, anyways I sent it back to Para-ORD and they did a polish job on the ramp and magazine exchange on the mags I marked as bad. When I got it back I did a polish on the internals using this site, YouTube and Google for reference. I then took it to the range every time I went and ran each of the three mags twice - roughly 1400rnds without cleaning and no issues. I now pack that baby when I go hunting and as a covered OWB during winter. I will be running a could hundred rounds I bought off a member here soon, just to get my muscle memory of the weapon back. Should you have to do that to a weapon? No, but if you like the platform and got time then why not? Also call Para and send the magazines back - they'll do an inspection and tell you if your running actual factory mags or knock-offs. As a side note, I don't regret the extra time and cash spent on the weapon to get it reliable and satisfy my peace of mind.
  6. Needed this to start my 3rd shift......
  7. He wasn't the highest paid actor but did charity work where he was personally/financially involved in than most of the Hollywood actors. I only care because he left this world a little better - hopefully his daughter has a good family support.
  8. When friends or strangers bring up the subject of why I shoot deer and hunt in general I ask them to research how market meat is processed and killed. They'll run into YouTube or investigative videos that show the real side of things. Netflix also has good documentaries that we've had good discussion about. Even my youngest daughter has seen the light after showing her how animals are treated - she at least realizes that the deer is not chemically enhanced and is a clean meat as you can get. She might not get into hunting but she now knows what organic and farm raised means. She has even watched me process one this year that we had for Thanksgiving but I have not heard her brag on that - I think she's figuring that part out still.
  9. I fell ya, be it military, traveling or volunteering sometimes all it takes is to be out of our comfort zone and see what some people have to deal with to snap out of feeling in the dumps. One of my sons classmate just had their family's house burn down about two weeks ago and lost everything. If the families healthy then everything else can be worked out. Hope the tough times passes soon.
  10. Very we'll put, I believe this site has generally the same opinions you stated and plenty of knowledgable people in it to learn from.
  11. Wanted to thank you guys for the recipe - besides fried turkey venison will also be on the menu.
  12. Interesting, will have to research - wanna do something different for Thanksgiving and this just might do the trick........
  13. That's how the morning should start.
  14. Well when you say "they" I assume you mean the government. I grew up in a small village on the southern island and I remember seeing choppers and Soldiers show up when we had a lahar, which is basically a major mountainside landslide. That was a major factor of me joining the Army when I came me of age after being adopted and brought to the US. The Filipinos have been an ally to the US and the bond formed from WWII is still strong within the civilians. I hope that the money and donations make it to the people in need instead of the crooked politicians and government officials. A nuclear powered A/C carrier and support vessels is already on the way to help - I know actions like these is what shows the reason a lot of people wear the uniform with pride.
  15. I hunt the WMA and I was thinking of the fisherman and families who go through trails hiking or to get to the fishing spot seeing the carcass. I know not everyone's a hunter, just trying to see all the options that well knowledgeable hunters do.
  16. I normally kill 1 deer a year for myself, but since my family is getting used to eating venison that deer only lasted me 3.5 months. So this year I'll be going for 2 deer and will be doing the processing myself. How do you gentlemen get rid of the carcass? With one deer, I parted the bones and slowly threw it away at the dump. I had a chance to take two last time out but passed cause I wasn't sure how I'd get rid of said carcass. I don't wanna dump the carcass at a field like suggested by the dump employees because of how non-hunters would feel if they came upon it. Google-fu didn't really help. Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.
  17. Copy.
  18. First time out and got the biggest 4 pointer I've seen. I hunt for meat so I like them younger, meats tender and the bone seems to make better broth.
  19. I have a TC that I bought used for $75. It has become my gun to shoot year round, the process really teaches me to evaluate my BRM every shot. On another note, went out this morning and was able to get a buck with only 4 points but weighed 122lb field dressed. I thought it was a big doe at first - the meat was soooo tender. These 2/3 year old deer are looking huge.
  20. 1st ID here - Wesley33, good thoughts here.
  21. We'll said JayC, but the fact that he acted how he did and took the consequence in a dignified way gets him a vote from me. I would feel better knowing the person I vote for will tow a line instead of having an excuse and double talking.
  22. Good deal, although I've only bought one Summit I had opportunities to use friends stands and decided on the one I have. Both parties should be happy on this deal.
  23. Yeah, bought my dog his own love seat cause he won't sleep on the floor.
  24. Good thoughts for ya. Went trough this a few years back and I didn't think I would have room in my heart for another but one waddled through.
  25. I was glad my wife and I had TennCare when my daughter was born, the release of medical financial burden helped me stay in school and has allowed me to be a working member of society. I had a brother in-law that was on that for 8yrs cause he was a POS. He always had the latest and greatest electronics and being forced to be around him got uncomfortable because he had no issues using the system. We were approved for EBT but my wife did not want to receive it cause we were able to make do concerning the food but if we needed it at the time I'd have no issue taking it. I believe receiving help to better yourself is nothing to be ashamed of, specially if it gets you in a position to help and pay it forward. I've seen enough instances where it helped people like it did me and seen the abuse. I just worry about the kids that might go hungry because of this.
