  1. Is 0 spoken for as a serial #? I got 2 Emerson's and this will be the only other high end knife I'll probably be buying. Awesome back planning so we can save up for it without the significant other knowing.....
  2. Most likely in. Never had an OTF before......
  3. Alright, met a friend of my brother in-law with land that is taking me to get gobblers. Hopefully the luck or in you gentle men's case skill is with me. It will be evening hunt so I'll report as to what happens and these pics/tips are keeping me motivated.
  4. I been lucky enough to move to TN where a lot of history is near and also travel to a lot of civil war sites during training so it was pretty much on Uncle Sams dime. Between the speakers that come to the colleges and historical sites around us I usually dedicate one week a year for such things. Anytime war is declared atrocities will happen and each side will justify it to suit them. I wish the old men put more thought into the decision and what ever the decision let the military do its job.
  5. TWRA Hunters Education Center of Hobson Pike is my go to. Check on-line for hours though. And welcome.
  6. I ride a Street Bob, bought a leather vest with breast pockets to accommodate a .38 or G-26 in a DeSantis holster. Sometimes I'll wear a long shirt and carry OWB. The furthest I've ridden is ATL and it was no issue carrying either way. Good belt/holster makes a difference.
  7. Don't know much about these type of shotguns except for Google-fu, are they one of the more reliable ones? All I really hear about are Saiga's but my knowledge is pretty slim.
  8. I had two, an 03' Dodge Ram 2500 and an 86' Toyota truck. Had to sell the Dodge to buy my daughter a car she could practice on and drive when she got her license. It made a great family car with the front bench seat..... say what you want about Dodge trucks, that baby went all over the country. Only vehicle I had that I look closely when I see one like it on the road. The Yota is used year round and has had countless game in the bed. Heard great things about that kind of truck and she looks pretty.
  9. Yep, good card in general. Like the class Lawler should vs Riggs.
  10. This made me feel better - thanks for sharing.
  11. Nice car for sure and if you took those pictures you have a gift........
  12. I looked around for months - Buds finally got one in camo pattern that I bought. It'll be my sons squirrel gun as soon as he can wield it properly.
  13. I too wanna start hunting turkey, mostly for good meat. Watched too many documentaries about food, chemicals and such. Main reason I deer hunt also. Too many family members and friends with cancer that I'm trying to change my lifestyle concerning food. Thanks for the information y'all gave.
  14. Thanks, ordered some.
  15. Interested, are that gonna build a whole rifle? I know I don't have the knowledge, time to build one or tools to do so. Buying local would be a major motivation......
  16. Seems like a happy ending for Mr. P either way........ Lucky dog to run into good people.
  17. National Guard from NY, Two of my Reservist buddies have gotten in contact with their COC and we're told that proper disciplinary actions were being processed. Seems all the bordering states have followed through with making sure this doesn't happen again.
  18. Prayers and good thoughts here bud.....
  19. Also, I don't think the Soldier was saying that they were going to intentionally "jack up" the flag, just that the weather may prevent them from doing a perfect job like normal. Some details do more than one funeral a day unfortunately. I'm not defending what they did by far - like stated above, if this was to happen to one of my Battles or someone I did a mission with and I was present then who knows how I would react. I know I hope my kids would not be there to see it. I see young naive undiciplined Soldiers with probably minimum supervision from NCO's - my first reaction was to introduce my fingers around their neck but I too have done childish and very stupid stuff as a kid. Hopefully this will be a huge wake up when the COC handles this.
  20. The only experience I have is the son and daughter model. Throws further the older they get.
  21. Another follower here, thanks for sharing your knowledge.
  22. If your military they let you in for free.....
  23. I'm in if anyone is willing to teach. I have deer hunting gear so I'll need advice and recommendations on the necessary must have items for yotes. Let me know if there is room for me. Any reason to be outdoors.
  24. +1 A lot of times the gym has the warm-up, strength and conditioning built in so your body can do the training and not get hurt. If you are not mildly fit then learning the technique is worthless - wether you like it or not your overall health plays a factor. I prefer BJJ, been practicing on and off for 10yrs and I recommend Shawn Hammonds at Nashville MMA. Haven't been there in years but he is a good instructor and very family orientated. The gym is pretty big so full of characters but it helps in seeking out guys that will guide you to the path you choose. Either way get into something, if you go to the right gym you will not regret it. Now is a good time too, summer bodies are made in the winter.
  25. I think any kind of dog will do, otherwise I agree with most of it.
