I'd like to make her walk around with a Mossberg Road Blocker, but the fact is, she is a slim girl and not only would she not be able to conceal a G26, but she wouldn't like to look lumpy and frumpy either. I want to get her something that she will actually carry (accessible and not buried in her purse), because even the Road Blocker wouldn't do her any good if it just sat on the nightstand. I don't plan on letting her go anywhere that she would be under siege by hordes of 300lb crackheads, so I'm comfortable with her having a .380 that she will be able to handle to "gut bust" any rapist or mugger that confronts her when she is away from the house or me.

I posted a thread a few minutes ago in the Handguns section of Firearms & Gear titled "Looking for a carry pistol for the wife." It is not showing up in the forum. I can find it if I go through my profile and look for the threads I've started, but otherwise it is not showing up. What the junk?

Hey Guys, I've concinced my wife to let me get her a carry pistol and a permit for my birthday. That's right, my birthday. We've been to a few stores and figured out what she'd be comfortable carrying. We've pretty much settled on a .380 (the smallest caliber I'd let her carry) and she likes the LCP and the TCP. My understanding is that the TCP has a last shot slide stop, second strike capability, and ships with an additional mag, which the LCP does not. However, I've heard about reliability issues with Taurus products. What are your thoughts on each of these and do any of you have an LCP/TCP that you'd be willing to let my wife try (you'd be welcome to throw some lead down range out of my CZ-75BD)?

Got my CZ75 off Bud's. It's my carry gun. Best feeling/shooting pistol I've ever shot. CZ's are uncommon because they 1.) Aren't popular in movies/tv/videogames, 2.) Aren't used by government agencies in the US, 3.) Have a difficult to pronounce name, 4.) Have no advertising campaign to speak of in the US. That's what I figure. I have a Comp-Tac M-TAC holster that was made for my CZ75 and it fits it wonderfully. Makes carrying a full size steel frame pistol quite comfortable.

Not to be a white knight for Saiga, but the Saiga 12 has all of that except for the straight-line recoil and the limited production. They actually make a 30rd drum for the Saiga 12.

1. Saiga 12's can be made fully auto. There are plenty of videos on youtube. A fully auto Saiga 12 also has a higher firing rate if that's what floats your boat. 2. Firing from an open bolt keeps autos cool, but closed bolt keeps them clean. Neither gun can fire enough rounds, or would need to, to take advantage of open bolt construction. 3. This is true. It should be mentioned that, with the addition of a brake and a cheap recoil buffer, the recoil can be made very manageable 4. This is also true, however, the reliability of the Saiga 12 is on par with a top quality AK-47 and the reliability of the AA-12 has yet to be seen so the point is all but moot. Other things to consider: 5. The Saiga 12 can fire 3in magnum shells whereas the AA-12 only fires 2-3/4. 6. The Saiga 12 can have a folding stock, whereas the AA-12's recoil system demands a non-folding one similar to an AR.

They have low prices, but the stress endured from the screaming half-naked children, negligent parents, meth zombies, and OLD PEOPLE is more than enough incentive to shop elsewhere for any civilized human who is anywhere but the brink of desperation. Sounds fine to me. If I had a shoulder holster, I'd OC when at home. If someone is uncomfortable with you carrying, they can f'n leave. The only thing to be concerned about would be tipping people off to the fact that you have guns. I saw a gas station clerk OCing last night here in Nashville. I guess they get some unsavory characters in there.

The judge should have thrown her out if she didn't like it, not put her in jail for 2 days. Assuming her clothing was even disruptive to the court proceedings, it would still be overkill to do anything more to ask her to leave. I know a lot of people would like to have their moral/religious beliefs to be backed by law, but America is not a theocracy. Regardless of how immature and trashy such a shirt is, it shouldn't be punishable by the law or a judge or whatever.

Just be glad they aren't throwing live heads...the bites hurt like hell.

I have a CMMG M4LEP Piston AR and I've put 500 or so rounds through it with no hiccups. It runs clean and cool as hell and it's dead accurate.

Well, google has gleaned to me that this must mean that jumping out of a great big plane with a great big machine gun is not that pleasant.

+1 The Edgehill area is pretty tame. I worked in all those areas of town disconnecting cable when I was 19-20 and the guys that are scared of Edgehill would be terrified. And I went there to tell the people, "Hey, you Comcast $300 in overdue cable bills. You don't have $300? Then, I'm disconnecting your cable." No, I didn't have a gun. Anyway, campus carry is a big deal. I go to TSU, which is in the middle of all the areas that TMMT mentioned and I feel like school is the place where I need a gun the most. A couple weeks ago there was a shooting in the middle of the day at 28th and Clifton and that's where a lot of students, including myself, go to eat lunch on a regular basis. It's insane to take our defense away especially at a school surrounded by low-income areas with serious drug/gang problems.

I was just talking to my wife about this the other night... This video was hilarious. Guys, don't be so polarized. The only bias you need is one towards logic, don't let your silly holdbacks keep you from enjoying humor.

I know a lot of black people, see them on a daily basis, and *gasp* am even related to a few, but I seem to miss time where they are championing individuals with bigoted philosophies. Sure there are radicals like Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Louis Farrakhan who say some outrageous things, but not all black people subscribe to these philosophies. I'd go so far as to say as most black don't subscribe to them. Now, regardless of who is saying hateful intolerant things, it is wrong. If, for some reason, famous black people saying these things do not get criticized as badly as famous white people, it doesn't make it any less wrong in either case. Statistically speaking, more lower class and minority murderers go to prison than wealthy white murderers. Does this mean that the lower class and minority murderers aren't getting justice? No. It means the wealthy white murderers are not getting justice. All of the murderers should go to prison, regardless of color or status and in the same scheme, all of the bigots should be criticized, regardless of color or status. As far as being offended goes, I can understand being offended at someone referring to non-whites as "muds", for example. The term "muds", I believe, is short for "mud people", which is a term used amongst the Christian Identity movement to describe the impure non-white races, who do not have souls. I personally was not offended because I can't take the man seriously, but I can see the potential for someone to be taken aback by the insinuation that their entire race is a bunch of soulless mongrels. That's my 2 cents, anywho.
