  1. WTF??? why that ending for tonight? guess its not really over yet with 10 minutes left but WTF???
  2. have wanted to handgun hunt for awhile. all i have though is a 4" 357 magnum. im sure it would do the job inside 50 yards... just not sure how much super heavy hardcast i want to put through the old smith and Wesson model 19.
  3. i still use a usgi canteen cup and an esbit folding pocket stove.
  4. have to be able to separate buddies and business. once you pay for a lease , its business.
  5. im in on it as well. cant wait until Jax gets to bury Clay...
  6. might have to borrow my buddys crossbow. i got rid of my bow last year. really shouldn't have but oh well...
  7. with my luck so far, what i bring with me is the only meat i see the whole day :(
  8. one of these is on my short list to get. I could imagine the sharper angles of the wadcutters causing issues. I would personally use round nose flat points most likely. ive been running som SCW in my revolver but will move to the round nose flat points next. had a couple SWC shoulders hang up on faster reloads.
  9. I like to get in the mustang and blast some curves. definitely not pushing the car very hard but still fun for me. just the sound of the flowmasters at 4k with the windows down and the radio off.
  10. honey is pretty well a forever food. if it crystalizes, you can heat it up or add water to it to make it "honey" again. might be slightly off but I don't think so.
  11. im eventually wanting to get the receiver back together and then chop the barrel to 18-20" to have an easily packable gun. I like that this one breaks in half, as most single shots do really. will also ventually chop an inch off the stock to add a recoil pad.
  12. I got a savage single shot 12ga from a pawn shop with a broken stock and a little bit of rust. I got it all apart to the bare frame but cant seem to get it back together. does anyone have any experience with these? when I look it up online, it seems there is a bolt action savage 12ga with the same model number so info is mixed and limited.
  13. I am sorry to hear of his passing but from your posting, I can tell he is one of the few great men around.   my grandfather just turned 80 and I know men like them just don't come along often.
  14. might be possible to take one if you see it when the seasons overlap but im not sure about carrying a mix of shot and slugs as both are illegal for the other game species... I think that would only be an issue on fort Campbell though.
  15. very nice.   I am in the process of building an 80% lower to mark my brothers entry into the US Army Special Forces as well.
  16. just load to a comfortable middle level. people usually have issues when pushing the limits.
  17. Thanks guys. Im looking forward to it.
  18. if you keep your loads at a moderate level, the brass will last much longer.   loading them to minor PF with some titegroup will cause almost no stress at all.   I use almost exclusively Lee products and have never had any issues. the only 40 reloads ive done are the minor PF loads though. in 9mm, I really like my Pro1000 even if it is a bit finicky. the Lee dies have proven very accurate in my rifle loads as well.
  19. buddy of mine here in Clarksville has two hives he started earlier this year. I might do it as well next year but I can trade him labor for honey :)   hes claiming a few people in our area club getting $100/gallon for the stuff!
  20. sounds like a great time. will see you tomorrow.
  21. also, as a new guy, is there anything I need other than the license, water and gun/ammo? orange vest? bag to carry the birds?
  22. Sweet. Im game! is the field something I can get my mustang in easily or should I bring the wife's SUV?
  23. I have met Whiskey before, although briefly. I got a steel barrel from you a year or so ago if you remember...
  24. thanks dave. will probably call you Monday to set up a squirrel trip later next week.
