  1. place i had been offered to hunt for deer last fall has already started crop work and wont allo hunting for turkey season. i did see a few on the way out to Springfield today. they were really close to whatever road goes between Cooperstown and Springfield at exit 24. made me really wish i was in the tree line right behind them.
  2. i would choose a glock 17 for the pistol and a decent AR15. you can find ar15s for around $600, used glocks for $400. that gives you $500 for mags and ammo which i would spend on 1k of wolf .223 and 1k or wolf 9mm. whatever is left gets spent on spare mags. if 5 people did this, it would last quite awhile. save a couple hundred bucks by using an ak47 instead of an AR15, which would be my second option.
  3. id be more likely to use a 22lr conversion with the 60gr SSS ammo. work is already done for you.
  4. yes, that barely makes power factor. you need a minimum of 1087fps with a 115gr. other than that, i can't comment on TG as i use WSF or Unique.
  5. if anyone in the clarksville area is feeling overwhelmed by birds or just feeling generous, i can help thin the flock for you might try to take one with a bow this year if the field next to my office turns into a viable hunting spot.
  6. i am really interested in the process as well. there has been some group effort to find out where the sales are and when on a Yahoo group im part of.
  7. i recently bought a glock 35 and dont much care for 40 but it can be loaded down to 9mm levels and up a bit higher. i do also like that 40 is starting to come down and i may look to add a glock 23 to my collection. i paid $25/50 rounds of Federal Hi-Shocks when i got my pistol over at Guns and Leather. not sure if they still have any but it was a good deal imo.
  8. ive been told its a deduction by a guy with a trust. not sure if that applies to trusts similar to a business? maybe it is just deductible.
  9. i thought i had read that you must have the new CLEO sign off again unless its a trust like the original time, but with a letter instead of the form 4, iirc
  10. not sure where tracy city is but i shoot at RattleSnake Ridge out near Woodlawn TN/Clarksville area. they usually do 4th saturday of each month.
  11. i have been thinking of a lightweight kiss build for the same reasons. looking at a PSA lightweight, HF, CL middy in the 14.7 barrel with a perm attached a2. then an aimpoint PRO, and a light. if you dont mind the NFA process now, i think a 10.5-12.5 SBR would be much more concealable in a pack. i have also been looking into an 8" noveske in .300 aac blackout for the extra power. then a suppressor
  12. just took our class today, wife for her first permit and mine to convert an out of state permit. will be waiting until next payday to do the other half of it. glad its moving faster than the 90 days they say it takes in class.
  13. buddy of mine tried to get me to go on a guided hog hunt out east a short while back but scheduling sucked so i couldnt go. can look into the info if anyone is interested.
  14. i bought mine here is clarksville at red river something or other on kraft street. they said they were made out in east tennesse soemwhere iirc. what i like about mine is its build alot more sturdy than others in its class and the cost was right about the same. i got a 6x10 tilt bed single axle but its built out of square tube instead of the typical angle iron and a wood floor. was very close in price to the 5x8 mesh bed things you find at lowes.
  15. i like the AT&T ability to keep a spare go phone and swap sim cards if needed.
  16. i too love bacon fried cornbread. sweeten up some jiffy mix and deep fry it like a pancake
  17. i am really wanting to finish an 80% ar15 lower. i was hoping someone here had done this and could give a few tips. maybe someone is in the clarksville area and wouldnt mind working through one with me?
  18. i am going to look into that book as well. always good to know whats around
  19. i trust my own more than most anything else. an explosion can happen in factory ammo just the same if the quality control has a hiccup.
  20. speaking of recycling, my loacl walmart bakery quit giving out buckets as well due to recycling.
  21. check out LexingtonContainerCompany.com if you dont mind the drive.
  22. i have a couple made by tommy theis at theisholsters.com i dont have an lc9 but he should have the form for it. i carry a glock 17, glock 26, and a lcp in his holsters at various times. very happy with them. i prefer the horsehide as its the thinnest way to go. holds up very well also.
  23. im up to my 3rd C3-907 from Greg Mcgee. i have one in my pocket and one in my truck. the third is mounted on my rifle for HD use. MTE C3-907 170 lumens from 1 AA battery for $25 is hard to beat.
  24. i have tried calling the bottler before and had a few different contact numbers through this and other forums but i always ended up with dead ends. any specific contact info would be greatly appreciated.
