1. Thanks guys. Here are a couple of more pics. Its about the best I can do with a phone camera and my desk as a backdrop.
2.     Nope.  I'm perfectly fit thank you! Perhaps even underweight
3. This is my newest custom. This is from Montana knife maker Steven Kelly. I found out about Steve back before Christmas and finally got the chance to get my hands on one. I really look forward to getting one or two of his folders as I think that's where he excels but this is a great EDC piece. This model is called the Sub Tactical. I don't have a measuring tape handy but comparing it to some stuff that I do know measurements of, it seems to come in at around a 3.6" blade with a 4 inch handle. The handles are shaped G10. Steven called it tri-colored but I only see the tan and brown layers. If there is a third color, it escapes my eye. The handles have a great contour that aids in grip makes the knife a pleasure to handle. The harpoon style tip also acts as a thumb ramp for fine cutting tasks. The shape of the but doesn't really lend itself to a reverse grip but I don't do much fighting anyways. The steel is 1084 tool steel. Knowing Steve, its been properly heat treated but I didn't ask how. He left the flats with a "raw bar" finish. I like that alot. The bevels have been polished to pretty much a mirror edge. I think you can see my head in the primary bevel in the picture. Overall, I really like this knife. I just got it so time will tell but so far, its going to be one of my favorite edc fixies.
4. I'm sure there is.  But I still don't hold out much hope for it actually happening.
5.     I think the NFA should be done away with as well BUT THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN! So in my realistic world, I'll continue to operate under the law and be content if everyone is treated equally.
6.   I think this is a good thing.  Trusts shouldn't be a way to circumvent a proper background check.  Maybe I'm bitter because I don't use a trust and do everything on my own but I would like to see it balanced out.
7. Love the tweeners. I'm partial to the clip point 17 though.
8. Looks great. One thing I like about some of the current friction models out there is the ones that have a lock pin. A hole drilled through the blade and handle that you can slide a pin in to effectively lock it. Have you considered something like that?
9. So I don't know if any of yall are familiar with Zac Brown Band but Zac Brown is a country musician. He is also a non stop worker. He has created several businesses from leather goods manufacture to steel shops and now a knife company. They started out with a big machete style fixed blade and now have a folder out, called the Bad Monkey. I got one for Christmas and here is a quick little review. Its a 14c28n Sandvik steel blade with carbon fiber twill handles over steel liners. It comes in either a drop point or modified tanto, choice of strait or serrated and choice of stainless finish or cerakoted black. Mine is the black straight blade drop point. All parts of the knife are made in the shop in Georgia and even the steel is a USA steel. They even machine their own hardware. However, the hardware requires proprietary tools to disassemble or adjust the knife. Zac Brown is a big fan of Emerson knives and I've heard that Ernest mentored Zac in starting his company. Because of this, Zac has licensed and uses the Emerson Wave on the Bad Monkey series. I've been carrying it this week and I have to say that I really like this knife. Its a big knife, having a 4 inch blade, 5 inch handle and over 9 inches overall. But it is very light thanks to the materials used. It fills up the hand but doesn't feel heavy at all. Every knife is hand assembled so they spend time getting the fit and finish perfect. My knife has no rough edges, the blade is perfectly centered, a very even bevel and the blade came plenty sharp. The big complaint however, is the pocket clip. It is a very short design that I tried out and couldn't make work. it simply wasn't enough to keep the knife in my pocket. I chose to swap it out with a Benchmade clip. In addition to the knife, Southern Grind includes a few freebies. You can see them in the picture below. They include a very nice leather koozie and key chain and a paracord bracelet with a side release buckle that sports their name. Overall, I would give the knife a 7 out of 10. Its a great knife and I like it A LOT. But the choice of steel at that price point detracts one point, the proprietary tools detract one point and the clip detracts a half point. The other half point was lost for lack of a flipper (I'm really into flippers these days). This was something that I knew going in though and still chose to add the knife to the collection.
10. Well this one has moved on to another owner.  But I sold it to get a Vagnino custom folder.  As soon as it arrives, I'll be posting a few pics and a review.
11. Its beautiful man.  You going to Blade this year?  I'll be down there Friday and Saturday for sure.  Maybe Thursday night as well.  If you are there, I'd love to meet up and check this out!
12.   The breacher is 1/8th inch stock.  1 inch wide and just under 4 inches long from tip to grip.  Legal for carry here.   The friction folder appears to have started as 1/8th inch stock but is slightly narrower.  I don't know the overall dimensions though as I don't have anything to measure with handy.          Definitely not going to be something that i carry every day.  But I could see myself carrying occasionally.  Its just really cool!
13. from an up and coming local maker. These are unique designs and that is what drew me to them. First up is a brass and copper friction folder. This the brass and copper are what drew me to this knife. Especially the hand hammered copper clip. Love that. The next one is a tac tool type of blade. He used bicycle chain masterlinks to secure the handles on this piece. Now, on both of these you can see slightly uneven grinds or a place where the stock slipped on the sander but those are minor imperfections and I like to buy users so it doesn't bother me much.
14. Not only should the media shut up but so should the internet.  LITTLE KIDS DIED!  Do you people not realize how horrible this is?  Think of the parents that are sitting in their houses right now with presents under the friggin Christmas trees.  And no kids to open those presents.  Its absolutely horrible.     And all I've heard or seen for three friggin days is a bunch of people preaching gun control or preaching about how gun control isn't the answer.  Not a single person is doing those little kids any justice by talking about all this gun control BS.      And the sad truth is that there will eventually be another shooting.  Nothing will ever stop that.  And when that happens, all of the same talking heads are going to be talking about the same crap.  Its friggin ridiculous!       Have some respect for those little kids and their families.  For the teachers or administrators that lost their lives as well.
15. The legal name of the entity filing the form 1, and the city/state of same entity.
16. Bumping a nearly dead thread but I like to just leave it out in the sun.  I disassemble and set the parts outside in the sun.  I hang them from a pallet so I can move it around easy.  After the day is over, wipe it off and its good to go.  It still leaves some in the stock but I haven't noticed any seepage yet.
17. As long as e-operators continue to buy this junk, they will keep making it.  Good on anyone with the ability to profit off them.
18.   This gun won't do anything that a DPMS, Bushmaster, etc won't do and it wants three times the money for it.  You buy this gun because you like the hype that is BCM or Haley.     As for building your own AR, its a friggin AR.  Its not a precision bolt gun.  Not too terribly much that a guy with average skill and minimal tool set can screw up.     As for the training coupon, I have NO NEED to train with Haley.  He knows what he is doing but 90 percent of the populace doesn't need that type of training.  It would be worthless.
19.
Looks good, but I don’t expect a pinned and welded compensator on a $2K rifle just to lose 1.5”.
Its not mall ninja enough if you make longer.
20. I don't see anything special about this. Nothing you can't piece together yourself.
21. If it was a kinda squared off shape then it was an Osprey. If it was round, it was a Maxim style from YHM but those have been discontinued I think.
22.
Chibs will move to the left, Tig will be back at the right. I thought it was clean how it all came together. Almost too perfect. I have a feeling next season will be the last.
Kurt Sutter says 2 more seasons.
23. Ill be interested to see how these hold up. I'm sure they will be fine but the one I played with in the store just seemed flimsy. Like when you cycle the bolt, the bolt is wobbly and hangs down. Nothing like my 700 that is solid, no matter where the bolt is. I like the concept, a lot! But I would rather see it from Remington. Or maybe a Ruger Gunsite .223.
