Santa came early today, and brought me two new Kel-Tec pistols...
-
Probably your GLOCK didn't notice, either. They are pretty tough!
-
I liked mine. It was reliable with full-powered ammo, but would choke every now and then on Winchester Valu Pak. As someone mentioned, it feels very nice in the hand.

The Kel-Tec p3at is not that easy to find these days, and you got a great deal with all the mags and rounds. Congrats! I carry mine daily. http://www.mouseguns.com/ideal2.htm

Denny Crane has an AR-7!!

I don't think anyone has mentioned vitamins and minerals. You can easily find a couple jars of multiple vitamins that will last for a year. You must have vitamins and minerals or you will get scurvy and other diseases.

Renewal process in Chattanooga 12/03/08
mousegunner replied to mousegunner's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Good point! The receipt for renewal is a valid permit in and of itself. So I have it stashed away in a safe place. -
I thought my MAK90 was sold a few weeks ago, but the sale fell through. I have an interested person, though, so we shall see. Congrats on the AMD65, they are swell rifles! I have read they they are particularly LOUD! So, maybe double up on the hearing protection?

Renewal process in Chattanooga 12/03/08
mousegunner posted a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I renewed my hcp at the TDPS office near the tunnel, just on the N side of Chattanooga, as you are driving toward Red Bank. There were about 20 people waiting there for this and that, and it took me about 40 minutes to go through the process. You MUST have either a passport or a certified birth certificate with you. They WILL take a new photo (so dress up!), and you will need to write them a check for $50. I don't know if cash is acceptable. Who knows about the beauracracy? I expect it will take a few months to get the renewed permit card. I will keep track and let you all know. -
There is a large notice on the application paper that carrying in the facility is not allowed. However, there was no metal detector set up, so.....I don't know that a government office is required to post like all the "civilian" places. Anybody got the chapter and verse on that?

The trigger of the SR9 has been changed to a GLOCK style trigger with the little "safety" sub-trigger in the middle of the real trigger.

Nice AKs are not easy to find these days, at reasonable prices.
-
I've never owned a Sig, but I once had a p95dc. It was built like a brick, very accurate and 100% reliable. It took 15 round mags.

How can Hillary even be considered as Sec of State?
mousegunner replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Bill can take Hillary's place in the Senate. -

I would suggest in a very friendly way that what you propose has never happened in the history of the world, and is impossible. Everyone has some kind of religion. I have a very broad definition of religion: I include all the isms that people elevate to a life-guiding status: Communism, Socialism, Capitalism, Atheism, Materialism, etc. etc. As Bob Dylan sang: "Everybody's got to serve SOMEBODY." Whatever principle ultimately guides your life, your purpose, your concept of reality, that's your religion (in my opinion). The important thing is that we don't get people in power who want to IMPOSE their particular religion on everyone else.

If you really want to be VERY concealed: Kel-Tec p3AT, OR Kahr PM9, or Kel-Tec PF9. They are small enough to carry in your front pocket. If you wear thin suit slacks, only the p3at will do.

I was was watching Boston Legal yesterday, and towards the end of the show there was a fellow who took the law office hostage. The police were outside negotiating. The bad guy was about to shoot Denny Crane's lawyer buddy (I forget his name). But DC was in his office, not out in the area where the hostage taker was. And good old DC had an AR-7 .22 rifle stashed away in his desk drawer! Way to go Denny! He yelled "pull!" and one of the cast pulled open his office door real quick. Then he used the AR-7 to shoot the hostage taker in the shoulder (who dropped his pistol), and saved the day. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AR-7 Here's the link to the YouTube video of Denny Crane in action as a "sniper." Both Socialism and Communism are belief systems that are thoroughly opposed to God and God's laws. God says "Thou shalt not steal." and "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's and unto God that which is God." Both Socialism and Communism deny your right to private property. They both say that everything you have really belongs to society as a whole. A Communist government will literally own everything: factories, land and houses. A Socialist government claims not to own all those things, but "merely" claims the authority to tell all the owners what they may or may not do with their property. It amounts to the same thing. "Thou shalt not steal" validates your right to personal property. It says there is an area of your life, and your property, that is not "Caesar's." Socialist and Communist governments supplant and replace God. They assume the rights of God over you and me. They also assume the right to be God over how you raise your children, and what kind of education your children must have, in order to be orderly and productive citizen/workers. Socialism and Communism are completely opposed to the idea of personal freedom and responsibility. At worst S and C are tyrants. At best, S and C are a smothering Nanny State, making us do this and that "for your own good." Whatever happened to the sentiment of "give me liberty or give me death?" I don't want the government to tell me what I can do with my stuff. I don't want the government to take care of me, either. My word to them is: Just go away and LEAVE ME ALONE! Instead of the "land of the free and the home of the brave," we have become the "land of the regulated, and the home of the sissies."

It looks as if the economy hasn't been so bad in your neck of the woods!

I think this should be a "sticky."

Sometimes the Tapco 20 round mags don't work either. They wouldn't work in my Norinco SKS with a Tapco stock. And they are said to be the best! I just stick with the reliable original equipment 10 rounder.

Here's a photo of the new stock, taken in the HiPoint factory. It is in development, not in production...
